This is a lovely property in a great area for visitors. The apartment is pretty, spacious (for two people) and has everything that you need for a visit of a week (we stayed for five nights). The location could not be better, being in a quiet part of Boston's North End but only a minute or two of a walk from tens of great restaurants and a number of great cafés, pastry shops, gelato shops, etc. In addition, it is walkable to downtown Boston without much hassle, and the nearest T stop is less than 10 minutes away. I can't recommend this property highly enough: the landlord, Carlos, was very helpful and attentive and quick to respond to any queries that we had.

This condo is the best way to experience Boston. The location is unbeatable, as you are one block away from many Freedom Trail sites, the best restaurants in Boston, and the Boston Harbor. The condo was very clean, and the owners were very good to work with. The stairs are not too difficult and are a great way to work off all the Italian seafood you will eat! The North End is a very busy neighborhood, especially at night. However, this condo is just far enough away from the major streets to where the noise shouldn't be bothersome if you're trying to sleep. We had some difficulty finding the street where the condo is located upon our arrival, but that's really the only issue we had.

Near the North End action, but on a quiet side street. The condo itself was quiet. Enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, even though it is small. Lots of personal touches in the unit, not usually encountered in such rentals. The fourth floor location might be a drawback for some. My deposit was refunded promptly. Would definitely recommend this place!

Around the corner from the Old North Church, this studio is perfectly located for exploring the history of Boston. Although it was spring, it was quite chilly during our stay. We discovered the first night that we didn't have any blankets. I called Carlos the next morning to tell him about the problem. He called me back in 5 minutes and arranged to have some luxurious, warm blankets delivered to the condo before the day was over. As owners of two VRBO properties ourselves, we know that things like this can happen and were very appreciative of his quick response to solve the issue. We certainly hope to return to Boston and would rent this condo again and will recommend it highly to our friends and family.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Thanks to Susie and Bill for the nice review. Our housekeeper had taken the blankets home with her to wash. We did not expect cold weather this late in April, but were more than happy to accommodate their need for blankets during the cold snap.

We had a great time at the studio! I don't know how you could find a better location to stay at in Boston. It's within walking distance of two T stops (Aquarium and Haymarket), close to the Old Church, Copp's burial ground, and the bay...not to mention the best Italian restuarants and bakeries that you'll ever find! Be warned...weight gain is likely. :) The Gaskins were great to work with and sent a nice packet of info not only regarding the studio, but places in the area. The studio is small, but was perfect for my husband and I. The ony disagreement we had while there was when to come back!

An immaculate studio flat. Well maintained, equipped and decorated. The location is brilliant and the owner is helpful and a real pleasure to deal with. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone. There are quite a few stairs which are quite steep, but caused me an unfit 50+ no problem.

This was our first trip to Boston and we were delighted to find such a clean, high quality rental in the North End. The location is so convenient to several historical sites and so many eating establishments. We dropped off the rental car and walked or took the subway...it was just that simple. The Gaskins make the rental process so easy. The information they send when you make your reservation is priceless! We toured every historical site they listed and frequented several of the restaurants they suggested...included Mike's Pastries three times in 5 days! We walked every inch of the Freedom Trail and enjoyed the dawning of spring in Boston Public Garden. One highlight was when our daughters discovered that the Old North Church was a mere 200 paces from the studio. The studio had everything we wanted and more. We couldn't have been happier if we had stayed in a fancy hotel!

Me and my friends stayed at the condo for 4 nights. Everything is just the same as in the description except for that the blankets are less than satisfying. The location is wonderful. Loved the cafes and restaurants on Hanover and Salem. approx. 10 min walk to the nearest T-stop. In general the experiences was great.

Owner response: Thanks for your comments. We have blankets for each bed and very warm heat in the condo, but will add additional blankets. Hope you return to Boston soon! Have added four new blankets!

My family and I went to Boston during our spring break and we were so lucky to find this amazing studio condo. The condo was clean, cozy and very charming. Our 5 day stay was made all that easier, as Mr and Mrs Gaskin ensure that their condo is fully equipped down to the smallest of details. The location of this very charming condo couldn't be better. For all you sports fans the condo is just a couple of blocks away from the TD Gardens. For all of you that enjoy good food you're just a couple of minutes from Hanover Street with a great choice of restaurants. We will be definitely staying in this charming condo our next trip down to Boston. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Gaskin. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with you both.

My husband and I stayed here for a week over the Christmas holidays and had a wonderful time! The condo was immaculate, every detail exactly as described. The kitchen was stocked with cooking essentials, linens were plentiful and answers to any questions we may have had were carefully explained in the e-mail we received prior to arrival. The location of the condo was perfect! The North End is full of markets and delicious, small, family-owned restaurants! We made numerous stops to Salumeria Italiana for cheese, fresh bread & salami. Mercado del Mare was right down the street as well and had a fresh selection of fish & other seafood. The condo was also a quick walk from Faneuil Hall and Haymarket Station. All in all, this was a perfect place for a couple wanting to experience the North End and the rest of Boston just as the locals do!!!

We stayed at this condo for our honeymoon, and can honestly say this is the ONLY way to truly experience Boston! Literally around the corner from major historic sites, you couldn't ask for a better location, and the condo is very well kept and has that old world charm you come to expect from being in the North End. We loved every minute of our stay, and can't wait for our next visit! Thanks Carlos & Cheryl!

You could not find a better location! Right in the middle of little Italy and only a block and half from the Old North Church and the Freedom Trail, and a block from Hanover Street with some of the best Italian restaurants and bakeries. You can walk to everything. The Haymarket T station and North Station T are only blocks away. The apartment was perfect too. Comfortable beds, full bathroom with a tub, complete kitchen, lots of windows that open and let in fresh air, and QUIET!! We never heard traffic or neighbors. We are in our 50's and felt very safe out walking at night. This is the best place to stay in Boston. Yes, there are stairs to the fourth floor so pack accordingly. Excellent, would recommend to anyone!

We found the condo just the way it was described on its website. It is spotlessly clean and the small kitchen is equipped well enough that it is possible to prepare a simple meal or two if you would like. Though you wouldn't want to miss the opportunity too often to enjoy the neighborhood and wharf restaurants. In short, we enjoyed our stay immensely and felt that we were getting good value for our money. Be warned about the stairs however. Anyone not wanting to tackle four flights of steep stairs at least twice a day probably shouldn't consider it, but we, fairly fit 70 year olds, managed without too much problem.

My friend I thoroughly enjoyed out stay at the North end Condo. When you make a trip to a new place you are going in blind but this little place was just perfect and suited us so well. Admittedly there are a some musty stairs to climb but once you are inside the Condo you find yourself saying " what stairs". We stayed for 4 days and it really gave us the freedom to eat in or out. The location was fantastic only a 5 minute walk from bustling Hanover St which is the Italian heart of Boston. The main city area of Boston seemed quite dead but Hanover street was full of life and fabulous food. The other great thing about the location is that it is close to some of the major attractions on the Freedom trail. As far as the facilities go the day bed pulled out into two very comfortable twin beds and there was also a fold out if needed. All the amenities were good and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was also very quiet in the neighbourhood. The owners were also very kind and posted a lost pair of earings back to us. I guess the bottom line with this little condo is that it is value for money and just perfect for a quick visit to Boston.

We really enjoyed our stay at the condo. Very well appointed. The stairs were a bit of a challenge. There's a very convenient 7/11 store around the corner. We bought Italian sausage from a butcher on Salem St. that was excellent. The location of the condo couldn't be better.

Very clean very well maintained, can't say enough! Thanks!

Myself and my new wife booked the flat in Boston for three nights as part of our honeymoon. It is clean and well-appointed and extremely conveniently situated in the North End of Boston; there are plenty of places to eat within only a few minutes walk, and the stroll into the centre of town takes only about 10 or 15 minutes. Boston itself is well worth a visit; plenty of colonial history, Harvard University, the Kennedy museum and library and a vibrant nightlife among the reasons to visit. I'd certainly recommend the city and this property is an ideal base from which to explore.

This property is perfectly placed for a easy to manage city break in Boston. It is within walking distance of many great Boston attractions and having an Italian 'feast' happening while we were there, in the next street made the whole experience all the more memorable with nightly street concerts, parades and stalls. Despite all this, the property is a quiet, get-away-from-it-all experience. It is comfortable and well-equipped in every way. A slight problem resulted in a speedy solution from the owner. I would thoroughly recommennd this apartment and would consider returning myself one day!

We were here at the beginning of August and just had the most wonderful time. The weather was great, the sighseeing, the food and festivals (especially in the next street) There was so much to see and do. The condo just made everything perfect. It is small but cozy and has everything you'll want. The galley kitchen was well equipt, coffee filter etc. The bathroom has been recently updated and everthing is very clean. We didn't make up the beds until last thing so that was no problem in the living area. The little extras were appreciated - the telephone, dvds available, helpful information/leaflets. The information provided by Carlos (pre- stay) is very informative and helpful. The condo is ideal for two people but it worked for us with our son (15). We will be coming back to Boston and hopefully we will be able to stay here again.

The condo was exactly as described, clean, tastefully decorated, close to the restaurants and tourist spots in North End and very comfortable. It's a short walk from the subway and the Freedom Trail, so it's a great base for a sightseeing visit and the kitchen is useful when you don't want to spend lots eating out every day. The kitchen's equipped with everything you need and so is the bathroom. The condo was very easy to find and the keys arrived well before the holiday so arrival couldn't have been easier. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a small place to stay during a sightseeing trip to Boston.

Can't add much to what has already been said. Very nice accommodations. Really great location in the North End. Great restaurants. Close to and an easy walk to many historical sites. Would second the comment about stairs - don't bring heavy suitcases with you because there isn't an elevator.

Carlos was very easy to work with and everything was exactly as advertised. The little apartment is in the heart of historic Boston, with many of the interesting sites within an easy walking distance. We stayed with our 2 young boys and there was sufficient sleeping space for all of us; we also loved the fact that the North End playground (right on the waterfront) is just around the corner from the apartment. We visited for 5 days in July and our boys played there with the local kids every evening - everyone was great. Small groceries, bakeries and restaurants are all right in the area, and there is a 7/11 around the corner for your convenience. The apartment was clean, updated, and functional. However, the space is small so don't expect to do much more in the unit than rest, eat, and sleep, which for us was exactly what we needed since we spent most of the daylight hours exploring Boston. The 2 things that a visitor should be aware of is that the unit is on the 4th floor, there isn't an elevator in this building, and the steps are pretty steep, so if climbing stairs or carrying luggage up stairs is an issue, this would be a problem. The other is that it's harder to find parking in the North End than in Manhattan (you also need a resident permit in most places), and it's almost as expensive as Manhattan in the few small private lots; so if you're driving here, beware. In our case, we took a quick cab ride from the airport and had Enterprise pick us up when we needed a car to drive south after our visit. The rest of the time we were on foot and using the T while visiting (and we don't mind climbing stairs), so these weren't issues for us and wouldn't keep me from visiting again. Bottom line: If you're fit enough to climb stairs and don't have a car with you, this place is an excellent choice to be right in the middle of history and have the comfort of home instead of just a hotel room.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: There are parking garages within 3-5 minutes of our condo. In fact, there are 18 parking garages and parking lots that literally encircle the North End and daily parking can be arranged starting as low as $25.

At the risk of sounding redundant to the other comments, we really loved our stay. The condo was great, the location was awesome and the owners couldn't have been nicer. I'd say it's cozy and very well appointed. Perfect for two people. The stairs are a challenge but good exercise especially considering all of the terrific food in the north end. Go hungry!

We will not hesitate to return or to recommend the condo to family and friends. Enjoy!

Everything was top notch at our home away from home. Very nicely decorated, very well maintained, very clean and quiet, and the perfect size for a couple pretending to live in Boston! Perfectly located on a quiet street within easy walking distance of the waterfront, the Freedom Trail, Fanheuil Hall area for shopping, the bakeries (the canoli at Modern were the best) and restaurants (Taranta was very special) in the North End, and the subway stations for exploring the rest of Boston. No car needed! In fact, the condo is so well supplied that all you need to bring is yourselves and time to enjoy it and the surroundings. We LOVED this condo! A great location -- walk to everything. Very clean, nicely decorated, beds were comfortable, and had all the basic needs (towels, coffee maker etc.). Would definitely rent again on our next trip to Boston. I actually thought this was better than a hotel. Not only was it more affordable, but you felt like part of the North End neighborhood (instead of a tourist). The restaurants in the area were fantastic. Can't say enough good things about this property and its owners. Can't wait to go back!

I stayed here the past two and half months and really enjoyed the time. The condo is located perfectly in a quiet side street, yet steps from all the shops, bakeries, restaurants and historic places of North End. It took me just a few minutes to walk to the North Station subway to visit all parts of Boston. The condo is very clean and nicely furnished. I found everything I needed in the fully equipped kitchen. In addition, there were plenty of towels, extra sheets and a very convenient laundry in the building. On top of that, it was very nice to find the condo equipped with high-speed wireless internet, TV unit with DVD movies and phone. It was a pleasure dealing with the owners. I would absolutely recommend this condo to everyone coming to Boston. Hope to stay here again in the future!

My husband, our two small children and I stayed here during January '09. The location was perfect and we easily walked to the Science Center, Boston Garden and delicious North End restaurants despite the freezing temperatures and snow. We walked to the North Station subways to travel further into Boston and the North Station commuter trains to visit family in the suburbs. We stumbled upon many historic sites during our jaunts. This is a small, but cozy apartment which will appeal to those who are looking for a homey environment and wishing to avoid using a car or taxi. It was a bit of a job hauling our luggage up the stairs, but I appreciated the extra exercise after filling up at the local Italian restaurants and bakeries and there were no complaints from the kids. We would definitely stay here on future trips to Boston.

We stayed in this cozy condo during the Christmas week break from school and loved everything about it. We have stayed in other condos in Boston but this one was the best. The little touches made the difference; plenty of towels, sewing kit, umbrella, dvd movies, books and lots of hangers and a laundry in the building. The unit was quiet, clean and newly renovated. The kitchen was complete with can openers, storage bags and anything else most other places did not include. We had a wonderful time exploring the museums, theater and first night. The owners were wonderful people to deal with. We will stay here again when we return to Boston. Great for two people who love to be in the center of it all!

This darling little apartment is in a fabulous location with everything anyone could need just a stone's throw from the front door. The apartment is immaculate, newly renovated and comfortably furnished including a fully stocked kitchen to prepare any meal. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. As this was the first time I actually got to spend a little time in Boston, the North End is perfect as its the greatest neighborhood (felt completely safe walking alone at night) with tons of restaurants and bakeries, many wonderful historic sites and a wonderful easy walk to the heart of the city. The apartment is perfect for 1-2 people. Two thumbs up.

We had a great time there. What a perfect spot the condo is in! Had lobster, shopped, walked most the Freedom trail, went to Harvard, Improv Asylum, candlelight pasta dinner, lunch at Cheers, 2 stops at Mike's bakery...hope to visit again!
