Perfect location, view and unit. Priceless family time!

We rented this unit in August and had an amazing time! We traveled with a large group, 6 adults and two children and we could not have imagined a better set up than this unit in Honua Kai. Location: This unit is located at the end of the building so the great ocean views are unobstructed. It was also pretty accessible to the pool and beach. Some travelers have complained about the general windy conditions in this part of North Kanapaali, and it wasn't bad at all when we were there except one morning. In general we found Honua Kai to be very well situated for getting to Lahaina or further up north to Kapalua. Unit: The size was great for a group of our size. The two master suites were very roomy and the bathrooms were very generous. The appliances were top notch (Viking stove if I recall correctly). It was immaculate. I travel and rent vacation rentals units all the time, and I would say that I have seen slightly better stocked units in terms of variety of cooking appliances and pots / pans - but what they have in this unit is totally sufficient for basic cooking. One the best parts has to be the large lanai where there's a whole other dining table and outdoor grill to use. It was so perfect to sit out in the evenings, grill on the patio and enjoy a meal outdoors as the sun set. With two little kids I welcome the opportunity to eat outside. Resort Honua Kai is great for families. Several pool options and wonderfully kept grounds. I highly recommend this unit - so glad we found it on VRBO instead of booking through the resort site. The owner and the manager were highly professional in our interactions.

This was our 1st trip to Hawaii and I can assure you that it won't be our last. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer but we only had a week for Spring Break. We really needed two weeks to do all that we wanted. (We are already planning a return trip for my 50th birthday in a couple years) Honua Kai is an exceptional resort and an unbelievable value for the money. My wife and I appreciated that even though we were in a large resort, the unit was extremely quiet and private. It was nice to be removed from all the noise and activities that the "pool view" units have. The view off the lanai was absolute perfection! The kitchen was well equipped and larger than we expected and the living room was a great place to relax and watch TV or go on-line. There is so much to see and do in Maui that you won't be spending a lot of time in the condo anyway. If you've never been to Hawaii - it’s a "MUST SEE". Aloha!!

Aloha! We are unfortunately back home already.. :( I just wanted to tell you what an enjoyable vacation we had in Maui, it was everything we hoped for and more! We really hated to leave. Your Condo was absolutely incredible and the 6 of us enjoyed a wonderful time together there. What a spectacular view from the lanai!...being able to see the Ocean is one thing, but to see the Whales splashing about out there was just so amazing! We saw the sunrise at Haleakala, drove up the north shore, past Kapalua, went snorkeling at Lana'i and Molokini, did a Sunset Dinner Cruise through the Pacific Whale Foundation where we saw both Whales and Spinner Dolphins, did the Road to Hana, our children and their spouses did the Submarine Excursion while I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the Plantation Course, we shopped in Lahaina and lastly, went to the Old Lahaina Luau to finish off the week! We had so much fun! KBP took good care of us when we checked in and checked out. The Bellman at the Resort were very kind and helpful. Thank you so very much once again for all of your kind assistance throughout this process, it was a real pleasure dealing with you. We hope we will have the opportunity again in the not so distant future. We would be more than happy to be a reference for you if you need. Mahalo! John

This is the best condo unit at Honua Kai. Oceanfront and I mean in the very FRONT. Mornings and evenings are incredible. Great unit and great complex, can't wait to return.

Indeed the best location on the property! After a much needed family vacation, we spent 9 days in Maui, and stayed at this gorgeous condo. Just looking at the property photos brought memories of our wonderful vacation; everything was perfect, better than in the photos. Even though we checked in late at night, V.G., the Vacation Specialist for KBP was very helpful with directions and information to get us safely to the resort. Our 3 small kids (ages 7, 4 and 2) were already asleep once we got there, but what a surprise they had when they woke up the next day, and saw the most amazing view of the ocean. They couldn’t have enough of the beach and the swimming pools. We spent a few evenings out on the lanai enjoying the sound of the waves with a full moon (just make sure to have mosquito repellent). The sunsets over the water was so enchanting, especially with the live music playing down below at the Duke’s. It is worth noting that the food served at Duke’s was not that good. Maybe we just ordered the wrong stuff, but the piña coladas were also 80% ice. We dined at some of the other big resorts’ restaurants, and the food was much much better! There is a lot of stuff to do close by. We went to a Luau with the kids at the Royal Lahaina (the food was good!) took our 7 year-old parasailing and snorkeling by the Sheraton - and saw a huge turtle! We drove to the South side for sightseeing and some shopping. We also went on a zipline and a helicopter adventure – what a blast. It wasn’t easy saying goodbye; we would definitely come back to 402 at the Honua Kai, and hopefully by then the spa will be open. We will, without a doubt, recommend this property to friends and relatives. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful place with us.

Thanks very much for sharing your incredible condominium with us. We spent 8 days there this April and it could not have been better. As great as these pictures look, they still don't do this unit justice. You are as close to the ocean as you can get on this property and the views are unbelievable. Whales from the deck and incredible sunsets daily. The high level of finish (Viking appliances/granite counter tops, huge bathrooms, flat screens everywhere, iPod dock for throughout the unit music, wifi etc) the smart, large floor plan, amenities and excellent communication & service knocked us out. We traveled with a 3 1/2 yr old and a 16 month old and the pools were perfect for them. A shallow lazy river type pool, a waterslide pool and the perfect sandy bottom wading pool next to it. Kaanapali Beach Rentals were our contact once we arrived and they get an A+ for responsiveness and helpfulness. (They also printed our boarding passes when we couldn't access the Honua Kai's "business center") Duke's restaurant on the property is just OK for dinner (nice lunch), plenty of great places to go on Maui before you stop there ..Sansei and Cane & Taro are 5 minutes away to name a few. The spa opens in October. We will definitely hope to stay in 402 again, after spending 8 days there, there really doesn't seem to be a better location on the Honua Kai property. Thanks again.
