Classic gray-shingled New England farmhouse c. 1900, situated on an acre of lawn and trees with an ocean view to the west across green fields and stone walls. Adults, children and grandchildren can all spread out comfortably in this spacious 2450 square-foot home.
Country kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, breakfast table, and full complement of dishes, pots, pans and utensils. Separate dining room will seat 8-10, with sideboard for easy entertaining. Living and dining rooms well furnished for elegant leisure, with some antiques and oriental rugs. Bedrooms are open to the breeze, painted in beach pastels, with comfortable beds. All towels and linens provided.
It's a five minute drive to the center of town. The Commons is where you'll find morning coffee and New York Times at Wilbur's or breakfast at the Commons Grill. From there you can walk to the bank, library, post office and pizza parlor. On the way back, you can pick up a bottle of wine for dinner at Goulart's Package Store. This may not be Napa, but they do know their wines and are happy to make recommendations.
Don't miss the ice cream at Gray's in Tiverton Four Corners. It's less than a ten-minute drive. While you're there, stop at the Milk and Honey Bazaar for a fabulous selection of cheeses and pates. Then wander over to Amy Lund's studio, admire her wonderful weavings, and ask about lessons.
