Welcome to our beach villa!! We are located in the exotic "Playa Grande Estates", at the northernmost section of Playa Grande. All of Playa Grande is home to the leatherback turtle & National Park Las Baulas, whose objective is the protection & preservation of the Baula turtle, the largest & most endangered of all the species.

Our home is one of five villas which are located just about 200 meters, one long block, from the beach. We are far enough away not to disturb the turtles & yet close enough to walk to the beach in 3-4 leisurely minutes.... We are surrounded by nature & vegetation, the estuary & the beach attracting all sorts of water fowl & animal life which you are sure to see day & night if you keep your eyes & ears open!! How do we differ from the other homes in Playa Grande & why would you choose our villa over any other?

Here at the lesser developed northern end of the national park we are within walking distance to some of the finest, most pristine, beautiful & least frequented beaches in the Tamarindo bay & Guanacaste area. Among them are playa ventanas with the long & wide white sand beach & fresh water estuary & it's opposite-playa carbon with it's black sand & rocky features & tidepools..... the rest you will discover once you get here!! then take a stroll down the beach & your children will learn more about biology than in a month at school - & they just probably will ask for more!!!

We live in Costa Rica. We are the designers & developers of these custom villas. This is a five star project built for luxurious vacations at the beach. Keep the sliding glass doors open with the screens closed & you will enjoy the sea breezes & the sounds of the waves (without pesky bugs & mosquitoes!) or you can close the doors & chill out in full air conditioning!!! Another bonus? The non-cholorine, salt treated pool!!! What a relief to take a dip after a long & hot day in the sun & sand!! And of course daily maid service & security for an enjoyable stay!!!

We don't expect any problems, but should anything come up we or our crew will respond! we are only a phone call away... This is our business. We rent & cater to the needs of sophisticated foreign clients living & vacationing in Costa Rica...... We have many long term & repeat clients. Maybe you will become one too!!

  • Cable/Satellite TV: yes there is an LCD TV with loads of channels but we bet you'll be enjoying your stay so much you won't even think about turning it on!!!!

  • Shared Pool: what a pleasure to take a dip in the pool after the sun & salt at the beach!! a "must" for children - very often they start the day & end the night in the pool!!!

  • Full Kitchen: this is a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops equipped with ceramic plate ware for inside use & plastic ware for use at the pool & the beach. it's a pleasure to cook here!!!! everything seems to taste better at the beach!!!(onsite composting & recycling too!! we care about the environment)!!
  • Cooking Utensils Provided: *blender*toaster*coffee maker*ice cream maker!
  • Refrigerator: brand new with ice maker and filtered water dispenser....
  • Dishwasher: also brand new... we prefer that you use the dishwasher instead of disposable plates & cups...

  • boogie boards available... two person kayak available for ocean savy & experienced guests... snorkeling equipment available although we do suggest that you bring personal mask or goggles for better visibility!!! life jackets available too!!
• Suitability
  • No Pets Allowed: sorry, the wildlife prefer the park to themselves!!
  • Handicapped Accessible (may have limitations): first floor bedroom makes it easier for those with walkers or such...
  • Wheelchair Accessible (may have limitations): ramp required to access the grounds & the home..... (please notify us in advance if necessary).
  • Kid Friendly: your children are welcome as long as they are pool safe or supervised by an adult... we pride ourselves on the cleanliness & quality of our home & the complex. if your children are likely to leave the home in need of a paint job & food stains & grime on the walls & furniture & the screen doors busted, perhaps this is not the rental for you.... but there are plenty of other beach rentals where this would not be a problem....
  • Minimum Age Limit for Renters: sorry but our home & complex is not suitable for groups of singles under 25 years of age.... this is just not a party place...we cater to families...besides, there just isn't any "nightlife" in Playa Grande....
  • Smoking Not Allowed: our home is for nonsmokers, even the balcony, the outdoor entrance & the common area around the pool.... essentially, no smoking on the property...

  • We stayed at this lovely townhouse style villa for one week in July 2009. What an absolutely fabulous place and experience in Playa Grande. The unit itself is extremely large 2 storey w/3 bedrooms,3 bathrooms, plenty of hot water, cool air conditioning and has a wonderful, large second storey lanai/balcony to enjoy your meals and/or drinks. It is a safe, secure location/complex and you do not have to worry about your safety. We felt extra safe having Leonel on site watching over the complex day and night. The complex consists of 5 seperate villas centered around an exquiste saltwater pool and you can make the most of socializing with other guests or not. The local residents in one villa and their dachshund/dog Ringo are very friendly and very helpful. Watch out for adorable Ringo as he will help himself to the meat right off the slice of bread of your sandwhich ! If you are not a dog lover, no need to worry, as the owners do not let him wander and there is no howling or barking to be heard. The local residents told us about a local fiesta and rodeo where we were able to experience the local flavours, food, watch the bull riding contest, meet many friendly tico's and transplanted expats now calling the area their home. It was one of the MANY highlights of our time there. The beach is a very short stroll (a few minutes walk) down an asphalt road plus a short easy pathway thru vegetation and what a beach. It is by far, the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Be sure to get instructions on how to get to the black sand beach near by, also a short easy walk. If you crave a touch of touristic townlife, Tamarindo is a short 10-15 minute drive. Grocery shopping, liquor supplies, all a short drive away. Great restaraunts all a short drive away or easily walkable as well. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the villa, people and place. Diane, the owner, was an absolute delight to deal with and they have many beach "toys" and items available for your useage. I loved everything in Playa Grande, so much in fact, I want to move there to live in my retirement. Go there, stay here, you wont be disappointed !!!!!!!!

  • After walking the wonderful beaches and exploring the National Park, it is great to enjoy the pool and the luxury of the house. To be surrounded on all sides by "la naturaleza" is spectacular,especially from the upstairs balcony at sunrise and sunset.

  • A well furnished,comfortable and spacious place to stay. Lovely pool to cool down in. A short stroll to Playa Grande, peaceful and unspoilt. Take a glass of wine and enjoy the fabulous sunsets. Everything provided including bikes and a kayak!

  • I had the great pleasure of staying at this condo and it was truly a wonderful experience. There are 3 spacey bedrooms and three bathrooms, I felt like I was at home only in paradise. The kitchen is great because it looks out to the court yard where my son played in the pool while I cooked. We walked to the beach a number of times in under 5 minutes and enjoyed the sea air on the balcony upstairs as we ate dinner to the setting sun. I truly recommend this place due to it's beauty, comfort, safety and proximity to the beaches and Tamarindo which is about 15 minute drive. When I return to Costa Rica, I am definitely making arrangements to stay here again!

  • This was the best vacation we've had in years! The condo was very comfortable, clean and big. We loved the balcony. One morning, we even woke up to the Howler monkeys in the trees nearby. It's just a 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach. The sunsets are awesome. At the public entrance,just a few more minutes walk, you have lots of palm trees for shade (just don't sit directly under the trees, coconuts can fall on your head) You can also watch the surfers. The surf was very family friendly for our 8 year old. If you just want to get away and relax, this is the place to be. We would go back again!

  • Hi everyone. I just want to say that I stayed at this amazing condo in Playa Grande. The condo itself is luxury! Really, even the kitchen counters are made of granite. With three bathrooms no one ever got angry at anyone else. I stayed there with my family, and my son is 4 and he felt like home. It has all the comforts of home yet in another country. The little complex also has a great pool where you can chill out between beach runs:) The beach is like a 3 minute walk away and, I have to say, I've traveled thru almost all of CR, and this is my favorite beach. Even though you are located near all the action- Tamarindo, Liberia, the beach is still quiet and has the best sunsets! Highly recommend it! Enjoy!
