My wife and I had a great weekend getaway. Kathy's son met us in Ellijay to give us the gate pass. Really is nice of her to do this without charging the resort fee as most others do. Cabin was as described and pictured. Loved being on the river. Hot tub came in handy after a day of hiking at Fort Mountain State Park. One day spent in downtown Ellijay and Blue Ridge. Nice to have a wood burning fireplace. Only negative was the clicking of the hot water heater next to downstairs bedroom. My wife is a light sleeper so it woke her up. Moving upstairs provided the solution. Thanks for sharing your home Kathy!

Perfect in Every Way

I wanted a cabin for the weekend (Christmas) that had it all--Flowing water next to the cabin, a hot tub overlooking it, abundant wildlife, seclusion without being too far from restaurants/stores. This was it! Kathy is so friendly and the home is decorated so tastefully; rustic yet charming. Bed and linens were better than mine at home, kitchen had everything we needed and the drive itself through the resort was great--deer everywhere. I have stayed in many North Ga Cabins over the years and must say that this is by far my favorite. Will definitely be back for tubing in the warm weather

Amazing Place

The cabin is so clean and well kept. It looks better than in the pictures. We just returned from 5 days at this log cabin on the river and would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to relax and enjoy nature right off the back porch. Beautiful scenery, nice to have the hot tub right on the river. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed having our morning coffee on the back porch overlooking the river. We will definitely return.

Great time

We loved the cabin!!! It was peaceful & perfect! We saw over 190 deer during our stay!!! The cabin has very comfortable beds, and was very well stocked with all the comforts of home! You could fish from the deck, if you wanted! The kids loved tubing, fishing, campfire, swimming (pool), and the hot tub! I've already told friends about it, and plan to return VERY soon!!! Kathy was very sweet and accommodating!

Family Thanksgiving Getaway

We had a wonderful family getaway with 3 generations at River Houz over the Thanksgiving holiday! The cabin was imacculately clean, yet still very homey and cozy- a rare combination! The description of the cabin was so accuate that it felt like we walked into the listing photos when we arrived. The beds were so comfortable and the quality of the linens made it feel more like a 5-star resort than a mountain cabin. Prior to our arrival Kathy offered to provide additional cookware since we were going to be preparing a Thanksgiving meal- but the kitchen was perfect just as stocked. The fireplace added to the cozy feel all weekend long and the hot tub was beautiful! Each morning we watched the deer drink from the river and then we fed the geese in the afternoons. We never made it to any of the resort ammenitiy sites- we were too content to just relax and enjoy being with family at the River Houz. Can't wait to return. Our only venture off property was to go to church in Ellijay and watch the lighting of the community Christmas tree in the square. We could have found plenty to do in the area, but being with family just felt so good and the atmosphere at the cabin eased us all into a mellow mood. Just what we needed.

Awesome Experience

I rented another cabin in the gated community to begin with. When I called the owners to check on my reservation, they realized they had made a mistake. They called me back with in an hour and told me the owner of this cabin would allow my family to stay at her cabin. I was amazed at her kindness. The cabin is AMAZING!!! It has anything you could possibly need stocked. We also were not prepared to see all of the wildlife we saw while on vacation. It seemed like at all hours of the day you could see deer all over the gated community. Several nights we sat in the hot tub and watched ten deer play across the river. We will definately return next year if not sooner than that. Thanks so much again!

Nice cabin, right on the river, very private, nice hot tub, very well maintained, lots of deer, geese, fish, tube, kayak right in front of the cabin.Beautiful starlit nites, we really enjoyed the solitude and privacy.
