We rented the Inn and Property for a long weekend and held our wedding on the property while we were there. We had about 90 people in total, and everyone said that it was the best wedding they'd been too in a long time and that the Inn and grounds were absolutely beautiful! We loved this place and knew it was right for us as soon as we saw it. Everything was clean and in pristine condition. It had a homey feel and everything was provided for. If I could do this trip all over again, I would change a thing. If you reserve the Canna, you will not go wrong.

For the several years our group of B&B full of life-long friends have gathered for a February weekend together to remind ourselves what the word "friends" really means. I'm talkin' about friends who earned the title; folks that grew up (use the term loosely) together and stayed in touch for a couple-three-four decades; people you'd simply hate to do life without. The Canna Country Inn has become yet one more friend we plan on celebrating forever. Dan and Sue have such a perfect Inn where we can recapture the laughter of our youth together. The Canna allow us to giggle together around a game of pool or to catch up on life, together, over a couple pans of lasagna and a jug of wine. Yet Canna provides plenty to opportunity to steal away with a friend in a quaint little area that provides peaceful seclusion while still being able to hear the gang singing along with a familiar tune on the stereo in the living room above. The Innkeepers are warm and inviting and comfortable and still perfectly respectful and aware of your desire for privacy. The entire Canna facility feels like one of the life-long, old friends you've gathered together to celebrate! If only for one day....one weekend....one week a year, find time to find friends at The Canna Country Inn! Life's too short to miss this. See ya next year, my friends!

My roomate from college and I wanted to get some skiing in before we go out to Utah to tackle the "real" slopes. I made a quick decision to stay at the Canna Inn and what a pleasant surprise. I have stayed at fine hotels all over the world and I have to say, everything about this quaint place was wonderful. David and Susan, the owners were charming. The Breakfast we had before setting out to ski at Roundtop, 7 Mi away, was scrumptious. I would recommend this Inn to everyone whether for a wedding, a family reunion or just a ski getaway!

A historic barn transformed into a comfortable bed and breakfast; rustic beams and beautifully appointed bedrooms; close to Harrisburg and Hershey, but lots to do in the inn itself with fireplaces, movies, music, games, books, and a well furnished game loft. Innkeepers Daniel and Susan Ruffner aim to please with warm hospitality and good food.

Daniel & Susan - made us feel so welcome as we used their Barn for a healing retreat. We had 16 people stay very comfortably. The Barn feels like a home away from home and they have so manay extra touches down to a basket by the firepalce with all the makings for smores, warm snuggly blankets and plush towels and beautiful bedding. You will not be disappointed in the Canna Inn Bed and Breakfast.

We were looking for a weekend venue that would be both practical (his requirement) and pretty (my requirement), and Canna Country Inn fit the bill perfectly! Our wedding party and familiy stayed in the comfortable, beautifully decorated guest rooms, and enjoyed breakfast each morning without having to leave the house. The grounds are lovely and well kept, the kitchen was well stocked with supplies for our meals and reception, and Susan and Daniel have thought through every detail. They are a very generous and helpful couple - offering suggestions and contingency plans - they even provided wood for the fire pit and a basket of ingredients for s'mores. Highly recommended!

The inn itself is gorgeous. All of the people from our wedding party had rooms to stay in which was a major plus as all of ours was from out of town. The cove made for a beautiful ceremony site and the backyard was big enough for a 40X60 tent. (there was even room to spare). Dan and Susan were most accommodating when it came to planning. My husband and I moved and had to come by at nontraditional times and dates to check things out and to plan. If I could give the inn more than five stars I would. It's reasonably priced and it's a beautiful spot. All of our guests complimented us on our choice and our wedding party loved all of the rooms. I would highly recommend this place!

The Grounds are amazing the kids loved exploring all the paths and the creek. We loved all the area attractions as well. You Inn was one of the only places in the area tat would take a family of our size for the week. The 21 of us had a great time. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!

This is our second Memorial Day trip in which we booked the entire inn with 14 adults and 14 children and we are looking into booking our third. We have been doing a trip with this crew ( started w/o kids) for 17 years now and this is probably our favorite. The location to Hershey, privacy of the rooms, cleanliness of the building, spacious back area with firepit really are hard to beat for a group trip with kids. We have stayed in bigger houses, lake houses but none have had the perfect combo that this Inn has. Plus it's good luck - no rain outs for two Memorial Days in a room - almost unheard of.

We cannot express our thanks enough to Susan and Daniel for welcoming us to the Canna Inn for the weekend. We held our outside Wedding Reception in the backyard and it was beautiful! We were able to fit a tent that held 18 round tables and still had room for a huge dancefloor! The inside of the inn is very welcoming and our family and friends loved the idea. The catering company had plenty of room to work out of the kitchens and the great room was large enough to hold the buffet. Having 2 doors that lead onto and off of the deck worked perfectly for our guests to get their food and then walk back to the tent without causing a jam. My husband's family had to travel in from out of state so they were very excited that they did not have to book a hotel room. The Canna Inn kept the family together and made for a great weekend of catching up! Lastly, Susan made the Canna Inn feel like it was our home for the weekend. Every time we saw her, we were greeted with a hug and kindness! My daughter especially loved that each bedroom came with chocolates on the bed :) Thank you again and we will most definitely be back :)

I highly recommend this Inn as a retreat location for 20-25 individuals or 7-10 couples. Our church recently held a women's retreat here and we thoroughly enjoyed the luxurious accomodations. We gathered for meals in the second floor dining area, held group learning sessions in the first floor Great Room, and met in various cozy locations throughout the Inn for small group sessions. There were plenty of areas in the Inn for ladies to gather for one-on-one or small group conversations during our free times. Dan & Susan are gracious hosts who are always available for assistance when needed but who allow us uninterrupted privacy at all times. The description of this vacation rental facility's location, layout, and amenities is completely accurate. The property is very clean and well-maintained. We did not take advantage of the nearby attractions, activities, or restaurants but there are many and various of these located near the Inn. All of us ladies enjoyed the beauty and relaxed atmosphere of this elegantly and comfortably furnished Inn. It was truly a wonderful place to getaway and meet with with God. The accomodations are perfect for family reunions as well. I am hoping to plan some for our family in the coming years at this Inn. This has become one of my favorite places to stay with a group.

Our family celebrated a "family Christmas" for our mother's 90th birthday at the Canna Country Inn. What a fabulous Inn and such a great place for our entire family to get together so we could all be together with our mother/Nana/gran-nana on Christmas morning. We had plenty of room for everyone and we're all able to sit down to Christmas dinner at one table!!! A truly fabulous place!

Our business decided to host a retreat at the Canna Inn for some of our employees. The Canna Inn really suited all of our needs. We did a "Half Inn Rental" - which gave us the privacy we needed and also enough room for everyone. The Inn itself was relaxing and well furnished. For our more laid-back sessions we sat in the living room around the fireplace and for the more formal brainstorming sessions, the Inn had a large room that was great for setting up tables and a projector and screen. Susan and Daniel made this retreat easy and were incredibly helpful - they took care of a lot of the details so we could relax and get work done. A great perk is that the entire Inn is Wi-Fi enabled so everyone was able to sign on to their computers at any point during our sessions. We would highly recommend any business using the Canna Inn for any retreat, planning/brainstorming session, and/or team building event. Thank you Daniel and Susan, we will ABSOLUTLY be back in the future.

Canna Inn was everything we hoped it would be. The photos on the website do not do it justice. We had a small wedding, and were able to hold the wedding outside and the dinner inside. It was amazing! We rented the "barn" for the weekend and shared our wedding with both our families. There was plenty of room for everyone. The Inn was clean and well maintained. The inn keepers literally gave us the keys and walked away (their house is right next door, for emergencies). Their pricing was reasonable. I strongly recommend Canna Inn to any family or group wishing to have time together or for any bride & groom to be, who want a small and intimate wedding.

First of all pictures do not give this property justice. The place is huge, it takes 10 minutes to find someone in the house. If you have a large extended family like mine, you would really love this place to have everyone under one roof. This property has rekindled the family spirit in my family and i am sure it will do the same for you. We did a whole lot of nothing. The kids were kids, adults got to chat in one of the two large common areas. All you need to bring with you when you rent this entire property is food, and drinks. there is plenty of cookware, even down to a rice cooker and a bbq grill. There is plenty of privacy too when we needed it. If you can tour the property before hand you know you will be booking it by the time you leave. We checked out alot of places, this one is hard to beat. My family already UNANIMOUSLY agreed we will eventually be back!

We have expanded (kids) and desperately needed somewhere that the grownups and kids could have seperate and shared space. The pictures on the website do not even come close to showing how vast the house is. It was such a great trip!

Canna Country Inn "This 1850's barn is beautifully restored and decorated very tastefully with high quality furnishings and appointments. We had a family gathering to celebrate our parents' 50th anniversary. Everyone raved about how nice the accommodations were including the teenaged boys! There is a lot of space to move about- inside and out! We chose to grill and have our meals right there so we could easily enjoy each others' company and not be rushed in a restaurant. The game room entertained the whole group from the 4 year old all the way up! The owners are very gracious and accommodating. If there was any type of problem (breaker blew due to high winds) they very quickly addressed the issue. The beds were fantastic! Everyone enjoyed 2 great nights of sleep! Our comments as we arrived were that the pictures which are very nice, don't do the place justice! You absolutely have to see it in person! We would highly recommend this to anyone and definitely hope to return someday! We did go over to Chocolate World, went on their tour, and browsed in the store. Other than that, we enjoyed our entire stay at the barn. " The Joys

I just had my wedding here, my husband and I rented out the whole place for the weekend. We hosted 21 family members and friends from out of state, they were all comfortable and just raved about how nice the place was. My wedding was beautiful and the relaxing time before and after with all those people we dont see often was truly priceless. The rate for renting the whole place for the weekend was very affordable, and we couldnt have done it without that reasonable cost. The owners are very nice, helpful and accomodating. When you are there you feel very away from it all, but its such a convenient location. We left relaxed, and very happy. We will be back for our anniversary!

We live less than an hour from The Canna Country Inn. Our first visit was arranged as a "look see" while the Innkeepers were refreshing the rooms between guests. First Impression = "Wow, really nice Inn...and those Innkeepers actually whistle while they work!" We had the opportunity to stay at the Canna a few months later, for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Enjoyed spending time in the area and the Serenity Room lived up to it's name while on site. Second Impression = "Wonderfully cozy Inn...and that whistling I keep hearing actually seemed to be coming from deep within the hearts of those nice Innkeepers! Third Time IS the Charm!! We just returned from an entire weekend, spent with life-long friends we've been blessed to gather with for Valentine's Day, each of the past 10 years. Third Impression = "Not one person, in our 9 couples, could imagine a better location, offering spaces for quiet "catch up" time as well as loud group belly laughs, for our annual event. But, IF we ever find such a place and decide to gather somewhere other than the Canna Country Inn.. we're going to invite our new Innkeeper friends, Dan and Susan, to come along with us!" Either way...we'll see you again next year. Thanks, 18252

Our family (total 20)just returned from a WONDERFUL time at Canna Inn. We have stayed at several vacation homes and none of them even come close to the accommodations that this place has. Plenty of room for everyone. Privacy (even with 20 people) was available but wonderful places for the family to gather as a whole. The owners have gone above and beyond the call of duty to provide a homey - elegant - and beautiful atmosphere for each guest. We HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who wishes to feel special and need a place for their family to relax and enjoy each other. Even if there are only 2 - 5 of you, this place provides an intimate atmosphere. We appreciated the tasteful decorations for Christmas - our family wants to return EVERY year. It was a HUGE hit. We have 11 grandchildren (ages 2 thru 19) and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves - something for everyone. This is a wonderfully equipped place (dishes, pots and pans, games, pinball machine, pool table, jacuzzi, 14 TVs, 4 fireplaces, internet access) - unbelievable place to stay. Such great innkeepers, too.

As our family continued to grow, we decided to spend our Christmas away from home and chose the Canna Country Inn. What a wise choice for us. The inn allowed each of six families a bedroom of their own with extra spaces for the grandchildren to sleep. There are large gathering areas where everyone could be together or spaces that allowed for a quiet time of your own. The kitchen was so well equiped and allowed one to cook while still being part of the family great room, where the action was. The grandchildren loved the game room and filled the pinball machine with their allowances. It was such a nice feeling to have everyone sit in one area to enjoy our Christmas dinner together and to have everyone under the same roof for two nights. The inn was decorated so tastefully and we enjoyed each of the different trees. Our family has found a home away from home and look forward to a return visit to this 'treasure' in Etter's PA. "Canna Inn became our "home away from home" as we hosted 125 guests on site for our daughter's wedding. The charm of the restored barn and beauty of its grounds provided the perfect canvas for a lovely outdoor event. By renting the inn for the entire weekend, we were about to accommodate the wedding party, extended family members and the bride and groom. The well equipped kitchen facilities allowed us to cater the wedding ourselves and stay well within our budget. Guests were absolutely taken by the setting and felt comfortable lingering well into the evening. The innkeepers, Susan and Daniel, maintain a well-manicured property and seem to take great pride in all that Canna has to offer. Prior to the wedding they were always a phone call or email away and were a tremendous resource as we planned all the details. Looking back, we would not change a thing about hosting this very special occasion at Canna Inn. Finding it was like finding a dream come true. "

Wow - where do I start! The Barn is AMAZING! Absolutely perfect layout for a large group. Lots of large common areas, but also more private and intimate settings too! The deck and firepit were a huge hit:) Personally I loved the kitchen - wide enough for several people to be in it without being too crowded. We all loved the ambience - each room was special in its own way. My husband studied the architecture in every room and kept remarking on the craftsmanship. The library was superb too. The location was especially great. Quiet and serene, but close to the highway so we could get anywhere we wanted to pretty quickly. We visited Hershey Park, Echo Caverns, M&H Railroad, Amish countryside, Gettysburg and the Pinchot State Park. Wish we had another week to just sit still and enjoy the Inn and each other. Owners Susan and Dan are wonderful to work with- prompt communications, each time I emailed. I would most definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives! Some of the remarks from my extended family as they arrived from their homestates..."This place is Gorgeous! too nice for us!" "HOW did you ever find THIS PLACE?" Everyone in our group was extremely pleased and we had a great time. Most sincerely, Paula

What a great find via Home Away.com. This Inn was wonderful...sheets and towels,soaps,washer/dryer all included. The owners were around if needed. The Inn provided enough room for all 15 of us. We had from ages 3yrs to 71 years old. We all fit in there perfectly. If you have a large group, this is the place for you. All the comforts of home. We plan a return trip in a couple of years. Great for the Hershey/Gettysburg trips too. We cooked, grilled, baked, played, did S'mores over the fire pit, watched DVD's,played games all in great comfort. There were rooms on the first level for the seniors, two kitchens,we used one for morning coofe..the upstairs kitchen for dinner prep. The dinning room had enough room for all of us to eat together. Even had a wonderful birthday party there.(MINE!). The kitchens were well stocked with all the cookware needed. even a wonderful griddle for pancakes to feed all of us at the sametime. The parking was ample and stess free. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a pool for the "down days" of no parks/trips etc. We loved it...and the owners were an added bonus!

Our family reunion at Canna Inn was fantastic! It was immaculate and verycomfortable. The kitchen facilities were wonderful for cooking for a crowd. There were so many nooks and crannies where we could relax. The younger kids enjoyed playing outside and exploring down by the creek as well as playing in the game room upstairs. The adults really enjoyed relaxing by the firepit on the large deck outside. We also loved shopping at the outlets and Amish places around Lancaster, spending a day exploring Gettysburg, and spending a day at Hershey Park, which are all nearby. We definitely plan to stay at Canna Inn again for next year's reunion!

We have used dozens of B & Bs for 20 years at home and in Nova Scotia. Canna Country Inn ranks among our top ten favorites in our opinion. We reserved a room at the end of a 3-week vacation to break up a long drive home to Connecticut. As soon as my wife and I set foot inside the inn, we knew we had to spend another day to unwind and "decompress." The inn is clean, plush, the breakfasts were excellent, and the hosts were friendly and helpful in making us comfortable and in choosing places to find great meals. (They suggested the Rock Bass Grill where we dined at a table enjoying the city lights of Harrisburg reflecting on the Susquehanna River. The meal was superior and moderately priced.) What a great way to end a vacation!

Forget those high priced condos and beach houses! The spacious Canna Country Inn provides comfortable accommodations with all the amenities you need. We had our yearly family get together there and were so pleased with its charming lodge like atmosphere. The inn has so many living spaces; lots of room to spread out and visit in small groups or all together. Every family had their own room or suite and there was even adjacent bedroom space for the children. The children loved the game room and spent long hours competing with their cousins. The dining room was so wonderful; it was the first time ever we could all sit down together at one table for a traditional family meal. The kitchens were spacious and well equipped which allowed family members to spend time together while preparing meals. Susan and Daniel were the quintessential innkeepers and provided us with all the information we needed to make our stay enjoyable. With so many sightseeing, shopping and sports options in the area, you just cannot find a better location for a family vacation.

Forget those high priced condos and beach houses! The spacious Canna Country Inn provides comfortable accommodations with all the amenities you need. We had our yearly family get together there and were so pleased with its charming lodge like atmosphere. Every family had their own room or suite and there was even adjacent bedroom space for the children. The children loved the game room and spent long hours competing with their cousins. Canna Country Inn was an excellent option for our family Christmas. Now that everyone has children and the family seems to be bigger than ever before we have outgrown each others house. So we decided to pitch in for a rental and Canna Country Inn was PERFECT! Everything about the Inn is charming and well groomed. There are 2 huge kitchens, playrooms, video games, fireplaces, and a great formal gathering room. It provided a wonderful environment for both the kids and adults. Plus if you needed space you could always retreat into a nook somewhere. The Innkeepers have decorated beautifully and the it provides the feel of home at Christmas time. The Inn sparkled with Christmas lights and glowed with warmth. We will def. book here again!!

Susan and Dan were wonderful and their home is wonderful. A perfect country setting within minutes of everything you need. The spaciousness of the home allowed those who wanted privacy to get it and the comfort of the common spaces allowed us all to enjoy each others company. Being able to seat 30 people at one table for dinner was special also. Comfortable beds, warm fireplaces and plenty of space made this one of our most memorable Thanksgivings and we have been doing this for 34 years now. We look forward to coming back!

We gathered at the Canna Inn for an early Thankgiving celebration for 20 family members. We were all very comfortable in our rooms and beds. The room accomodations fit our family needs perfectly. We had plenty of space to enjoy throughout the Inn, with games for the twenty-somethings to enjoy well into the early morning hours, without disturbing the older than twenty-somethings! We were so excited to have one "dining room" large enough to accomodate all 20 of us around the tables, instead of having to break into several smaller rooms. Having 2 kitchens worked beautifully. We used the one downstairs as our breakfast kitchen and the one upstairs as our dinner kitchen. The owners are quite curtious and willing to accomodate their guests' needs. We highly recommend the Canna Inn.

Aug 08 Our daughter had her wedding here at the Inn . About 6 weeks before the wedding the previous owners sold the Inn to Daniel and Susan. They transformed the Inn to an absolutely beautiful location for the event. As the parents of the bride, we of course had many concerns and they were very accommodating and patient with us. The wedding was held in the grove and was absolutely magical we forged many memories here and this place will always hold a very special place in our hearts. Tom & Janet
