This is a very nice well kept house about 15 miles North of Bridgetown. If you don't mind being away from the action you will love this place. One drawback is no air conditioning but, they have several fans in the house to help keep things cool. I especially liked the patio and the visiting Gecko lizard, cute little fellow. When you stay here, remember you are in the Tropics and will need ear plugs to block out the crazy cockodoodledooing of the Roosters early in the morning, they start at 03:30 :( Another nice aspect of this house is the washer and dryer access, no need to bring a lot of clothes, it will give you room for bringing souveniers back home. The people of Barbados are the friendliest I have ever encountered. I certainly plan to go again!

Owner response: We are happy that you enjoyed the property and that the property met your expectations. Being in a quiet location give you the advantage of going to the busy areas and then you know you can return to your to peace and quiet. Barbados is a beautiful place and as you said the people are very nice and it makes us feel great to know it is a place that you will return again.

We stayed at Maynards for a month in January-February, and the house was exactly right for our needs, well-equipped and comfortable and a real home away from home. We were concerned that the absence of AC might have been a problem, but it wasn't: the house was always kept at a nice temperature by the Trade Wind. We especially appreciated the enclosed garden which gave our grandson the opportunity to play safely outside and to carry out his daily inspection of the banana tree, and of course the wonderful patio where we enjoyed most of our meals. We also liked being in a "real" neighbourhood, rather than a tourist enclave. Joyce, the housekeeper, is a jewel and we so much enjoyed her visits and our chats with her. She was always able to answer questions and to deal efficiently with any small problems that arose.

I just got married and started a new position at work, so I was completely stressed and desperately needed some time away from everyone and everything to relax and breathe. This house provided me with the amenities of home and made me feel like I was home away from home. It was very comfortable for the 6 days I stayed there. Not only is the house immaculate and should be featured on HGTV Most Beautiful Vacation Homes, it was in a safe area close to 3 beaches. I was there with my cousin who was 4 months pregnant with her second child and needed some time away from husband and 3 year old, she was able to feel comfortable and relax and we both came back to the states refreshed and renewed. In addition, one of the many amenities this house has to offer is Magic Jack phone system which allowed us to call the U.S. without long distance charges. My cousin was able to talk to her husband and son everyday which also put her at ease. She was able to enjoy her time away with peace of mind. I highly recommend this vacation home and I am looking forward to going back next year!

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon in May 2011 and we thoroughly enjoyed this property. It's even nicer than the photos show. There was way too much space for us and plenty of room for 6 people. Everything is new and in immaculate condition. We bought groceries down the street in Speightstown and cooked here often since we found Barbados restaurants to be terribly overpriced and the food mediocre. The property owner, Jackie, and the caretaker, Joyce, were both very helpful. The one downer was the location. Maynards is not so close to the action on Barbados, which some people might like. Heywoods Beach is a quick 5 minute drive away and is a nice spot to spend the day. But most everything is happening down in Bridgetown and St. Lawerence Gap. Maynards is a bit of a drive and the island's narrow roads and reckless local drivers don't make the journey pleasant.

Our family had a splendid vacation from start to finish. Before I had children, I travelled to Barbados frequently so I know the island. This was the first time for my children. The Island is beautiful and safe and invites you to explore. The people are friendly and welcoming and not always trying to sell you something. If you don't mind English driving and roundabouts, then you should rent a car and see the island. Driving in Barbados is not for everyone. There are several inviting beaches and I would feel like a caged animal if we stayed at a resort. Joyce was very friendly and wanted to make sure we had a wonderful time there. The villa came with everything one would want. I could easily "live" there for an extended period. The villa was quite new and a lot of care was put into buying most things. Everything was immaculate when we arrived. We are an active family so we didn't spend much time just hanging around; I can't comment on the TV since I never turned it on. I cooked our own breakfasts and BBQ'd fresh fish most nights so I can tell you that the kitchen was excellent and the BBQ worked well too. The house is very spacious. The master Bedroom is very comfortable. I also loved the patio. Often after my family went to sleep, I could sit out on the patio and relax. There was always a pleasant breeze. We typically had breakfast on the patio too. Without a car, the villa would lose some appeal since it is not on the beach or right on a bus route. One can walk to the beach but walking there and back would definitely be a chore. It is only a few minutes to the public access parking lot at Port St Charles (beach) by car and the traffic is quite light. For me, the location was wonderful since I wanted somewhere quiet and comfortable to sleep. Groceries were available at the Trimart in Mile and a Quarter (not too far). If it's your first time on the island, you really should take a catamaran tour (google Stiletto Barbados). I would recommend this place to friends and would love to return on my next vacation. recommended for: those who want to relax. those with a car.

Owner response: Anthony and family: We are happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed your vacation in Beautiful Barbados and also happy to know that you find the villa very accommodative. We strive for perfection in making your vacation memorable giving you a home away from home. So many of our client have told us that we have the perfect well appointed villa that surpassed their expectations, in a great location They love that Joyce was always there to answer any questions or showed them places to go. It was a pleasure having you and your family at our villa. Jackie and Ron

Wow, what a wonderful vacation. Had the pleasure of staying here for a week in February 2010. The hospitality was wonderful from the moment we arrived. Joyce was so helpful in getting us settled and familiarized us with the lovely area of the country. Throughout the week, she was always available for any advice. Getting away from a typical resort feel was great. The house itself is very nice and I'm not sure the photos do it justice. It's situated in a quieter area but still very close to everything. We even managed to watch both the Super Bowl and the Olympics on the Satellite tv. I hope to visit again next year. Great weather, great beaches, great people and great food - especially at the Beach House in Holetown. I'll certainly be recommending this place to friends who visit Barbados.

Owner response: Glad to hear you guys had a wonderful time and would visit again. Customer service and customer satisfaction is our number one goal. The home is equipped to make you feel like you are at home.

A very relaxed couple Sussex, UK This was our fourth visit to Barbados and probably the best house we have rented. Clean, conmfortable and everything you needed to self-cater. The house is located in a small, quiet development of houses We were welcomed with flowers and a very helpful housekeeper. Joyce did everything to make our stay pleasurable and was only a phone call away if we needed her. Wonderful sunsets into the sea from the fron patio!. The garden and rear patio is ideal for relaxing if you do no want to stay on the beach. We will be back!

We were six adults who stayed at this property. From the time we arrived the great service began. The property is very clean and has everything one can expect to find in a home, also well maintained. This home is decorated with the best you can expect. They have a variety of games, movies, music and lots of books to read. We spent most of our time on the patio where we had our breakfast or relaxed on the patio furniture. We were given a cell phone if we needed to make contact while out and about. Andrea was a great hostess. This property is located close to everything, like the beach, restaurants and grocery. The bakery around the corner is the best. We will be back and would certainly stay here again. This property is highly recommended for a great stay. Pron & Family

My wife and I had the good fortune of being able to spend our 1 year anniversary at this wonderful property. Words cannot begin to describe how beautiful this place is. Situated on a quiet street minutes away from several beautiful beaches, this home gave us all the privacy we needed but was close enough to Speightstown that we could enjoy the Bajan nightlife. The house has a great open floor plan with high ceilings that make the place feel spacious and comfortable. Clean and well appointed we never once missed any luxuries from home. Whether we were in the mood to curl up to watch a late night movie or to have breakfast on the patio and enjoy the beautiful Bajan scenery, this place had it all. The nearby bakery was wonderful and there are plenty of great restaurants and eateries nearby. It was also nice to have the option of cooking at home as fresh fish was always available from the local fishermen. We must thank Andrea who was so helpful throughout our stay. We would have been lost without her showing us all the ins and outs of Barbados. She was always available to answer any questions that we had and knew the island like the back of her hand. Also a big thanks to Jackie and Roy who made the entire process a breeze. Sorry for the long comment...but this is a place you have to see to believe. A jewel in paradise...can't wait to go back!

My family and I stayed at this property last August when we arrived in Barbados for the Crop Over Festival. This was our first trip to Barbados. We love the island. This property is beautiful with a large outside patio where we ate and relaxed. This house has everything you need with lots of books, games, movie and CD for those days you just want to relax at home. Everything in this home is of top quality as they spared no details in decoratiing, and it has the feeling of being at home away from home. The location was ideal with beaches, banks, grocery stores and restaurants. We spent a lot of time at Almond beach where the kids enjoyed the water sports. Fisher Man Pub on Wednesday nights is a great place to be. Joyce our hostess made sure we were well taken care of and it was easy to contact her because she gave us a cell phone so we can be in contact if we needed to when we were out and about for any questions. No need to bring any beach towels as they were provided and don't worry about cleaning before you leave as this will be done for you. We are already planning to be back next year.
