Accommodations:  Farmhouse, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)

A charmingly renovated farmhouse in a delightful hamlet in the heart of the Luberon, ideally located between Gordes and Menerbes (A Year in Provence). The property is divided into 2 different buildings - the main farmhouse has 3 bedrooms (1 double and 2 twins- these can also be doubles) with 2 luxuriously appointed bathrooms. The main living room and kitchen are located on the second floor and thus have wonderful views on to the Luberon mountain and its villages. There is also a large terrace at this level also with stunning views - ideal for al fresco dining and sunbathing. Opposite the main house is a cottage on 2 floors - the ground floor has a kitchenette and living room and the upper floor a double bedroom with en suite shower room. This house also has its own covered terrace.

Both buildings have use of the large garden, swimming pool, table tennis table and terrace as well as the tennis court (not in pristine condition). The latter is however perfectly good enough for some competitive games and tennis rackets and balls can be borrowed from the owner. The owner also has a large DVD collection and library and is willing to lend these to guests. The hamlet is in a quiet location and there are plenty of walks to be enjoyed in the vicinity. One can walk to the nearest restaurant.

The owners live in an adjacent house in the hamlet - and can be on hand to help with advise on restaurants and local activities.

On arrival you will find a welcome pack at the house - this includes fresh milk, fruit juice, freshly baked bread, butter and jam as well as fresh fruit and a bottle of the local wine. Tea and coffee are also provided.

Walks through the olive groves to the nearby Olive Oil mill are recommended, local markets in picturesque villages abound, - in the summer there are several theatre and music festivals in the vicinity including the Opera and Music festival at nearby Lacoste - organized by Pierre Cardin. The coast is less than an hour away and one can enjoy swimming in the warm waters of the Mediterranean in one of the tranquil 'calanques' not far from Marseilles - or perhaps swim in the more refreshing nearby lakes or rivers.
Menerbes, Bonnieux, Gordes, Roussillon are all within 15 minutes of the house as is the lively antiques market at Isle sur la Sorgue. There's also the local vineyards and their wineries as well as the more famous wine domains at nearby Châteauneuf du Pape.

And don't forget Avignon, le Pont du Gard, Uzes, St Remy de Provence, les Alpilles, Les Baux de Provence and Arles and Nimes with their Roman arenas! This is the ideal spot for visiting all these famous sites - the farthest are a little more than 1 hour away - but most are less than 30 minutes away by car.

Nice and Cannes are 2 to 2 and a half hours by car - flights are available to almost everywhere from Nice - but the TGV high speed rail link makes Paris at less than 3 hours away - yet another way of arriving at this 'paradise on earth'!
