Luxury Beach Town Home - Best of All Worlds!

We LOVED this place!

Guest: MarthaLynne (Charleston, WV)
Date of Stay: 08/23/08 Review Submitted: 09/02/08

You know how the pictures you get online show places to their benefit, are taken from angles that maximize space , etc? This home was so much nicer and larger than the online photos indicated. It is a gracious home filled with quality fixtures. It is spacious and comfortable and clean, on a lot which is landscaped nicely and with windows that brought the outdoors in. When we first arrived our party joked that we might have trouble using all the room and dining at all the tables, but we made it a priority. The home is well stocked with anything you might need in a pinch. How many rentals have birthday candles if you need them? (we did and thank you!) We had great places for the 6 of us to hang out together and enough room to separate if the need arose. You will need a car if you want to explore more than the immediate area. The trolley is a short walk away to the beaches and shops. The Nubble lighthouse at York was beautiful and we spent an afternoon climbing the rocks and looking at the ocean. We also enjoyed day trips to Boston and Portland

Owner response:We appreciate this "five-star review" of our luxury home. We have developed our business based on years of experience traveling across the United States and Overseas. We made a list of all the things we liked and improved upon them. Then we made a list of all the unacceptable things (uncomfortable beds, lack of appropriate glassware, poor quality linens) and we have made sure we provide the best possible features in a rental home. We strive to provide an extraordinary, luxury unforgetable experience--not a run-of-the mill home rental. We are delighted when our guests full engage in the region and truly enjoy the experience we aim to provide!

The Martini Party

Date of Stay: 07/30/11 Review Submitted: 08/08/11

Wow what a way to spend my 60th birthday!! Alot of fantastic memories were made in this beautiful home. The rooms, the decor, the amenities are top notched. In my party of 12 there was something to enjoy for each age.The grandsons had a ball in your home running from room to room (sorry guys) to playing in the game room to going in the hot tub what can we say but great, great, great. Papa relaxed in 1 particular leather (yes there are a lot to choose from) The sons enjoyed the piped in music to relax and cook with. The daughters loved all the Crate & Barrell to serve up the lobsters which was a feast for our eyes besides our stomachs. I love the HGTV quality of the whole house, not one thing I would change and normally I move furniture constantly. Found something different every day to enjoy. Normally on vacation the place you stay is where you just lay your head... your home was a great part of our vacation. Every time we went somewhere my 4 year old grandson wanted to go back to the "our home" even the little guy loved the hens (aka dens) every morning by the neighbors home. You guys should be real proud of this place, if I could move your home and everything in it (especially that great comfortable King) I would! We travelled from town to town and found your location a plus. This is a beautiful place by the water and your place is a great home to live in even if only just for one week. Thanks for sharing with us!!!!!!

Owner response:We have worked hard to create an environment that pleases a variety of individuals with different tastes for private and shared space, decor, and creature comforts! While we market our home to groups of 8 people...From time to time, with advance planning individuals who have great respect for our home have had 10-12 people. It is rewarding to know this luxury rental lives up to and beyond people's expectations!

Perfect home!

Guest: Grandma (St Petersburg Fl)
Date of Stay: 07/24/10 Review Submitted: 08/03/10

My family thoroughly enjoyed this house, from the cook's kitchen to the beautiful grounds outside! It was perfect for us to spread out with our own private bedrooms w/baths and still with plenty of space to gather in the great room or around the kitchen table. We truly felt that we were "borrowing" someone's home, with the wonderful decorating, dishes and glassware, gourmet pots and pans and even Stonewall Kitchen soaps and lotions! We liked being closer to the beach, as we spent more time there than in the village of Ogunquit. The beach is crowded during the day, but still lots of fun. The time to go is late afternoon or evening as it is almost empty and stunningly beautiful. We had no idea that Ogunquit itself would be so crowded with other tourists as ourselves! But we had plenty of cars to drop off and pick up family members that wanted to spend a little time in town, but didn't want to try to park. After a long day of travel, we were a bit disappointed that we had to search for the "pack and play crib" and the high chair. There were no linens for the crib, but we made out just fine with another sheet from the linen supplies. This was a detail we should have communicated about prior to arrival, for anyone who might be visiting with a small child. The owners were very helpful and responsive to our queries about Ogunquit and the surrounding area. I would love to return in the future! Thanks so much!

Owner response:It is always great to know that rental guests understand that Ogunquit is only 4.5 square miles in size and that being 1 miles from the "best end" (Footbridge Area) of the Ogunquit Beach is in fact quite close. We have provided high chair and pack and play for guests with children. When met with special requests, like a computer printer or blue ray player, we have always accomodated our guests. We believe that "the extras" make our place special--the size of our home does sometimes make some things a challenge to find! (if not arranged in advance with special request).

What a wonderful property!

Date of Stay: 04/17/10 Review Submitted: 04/25/10

The pictures of this property do not do it justice. We recently stayed at this home and were delighted by the elegance of not only the home, but the surrounding area. This home has everything (and I mean EVERYTHING!). We forgot to bring a few small cooking items and low and behold, this house had them. We have rented many properties over the years, and this house is by far the most well put together property we have ever been to. The owners didn't miss any details, from helpful notes throughout the house, to the many (and varied) dishes and cooking gear; you will not be disappointed with this home. The home is quite large, so don't be surprised if you get lost a few times while checking out the place, but once you get your bearings you will be thrilled with this home! Downtown Ogunquit is a quick ride away, but if you decide to stay home there is plenty to keep you busy in this home!

Owner response:Our focus is always to provide an experience that goes well beyond a typical vacation rental. Your wonderful comment about the pitcures not doing our home justice has been said before--so we are working on new pictures! We are pleased you left so happy and with so many good memories!

Luxury Ogunquit Retreat Estate

Guest: Corporate Offsite Executive (Boston, MA)
Date of Stay: 10/24/08 Review Submitted: 10/28/08

We hosted our annual corporate planning offsite at this luxury estate. The setting was ideal for a high level officers meeting. We led the facilitated offsite sessions in the three story Great Room. The open floorplan with exposed beams and vaulted cathedral ceiling provided a professional venue for group discussions. Breakout sessions were held in the wood-paneled library, the separate fireplace room, and the breakfast room. We used the formal dining room for our officers dinner. The property is exquisite, the setting is pristine, and the accomodations are luxurious. I would highly recommend this setting for any corporate offsite function.

Owner response:Our property has hosted corporate retreats, workshops, and wedding parties. Our property has a significant number of large common spaces, breakout spaces/rooms, and outdoor space which make it conducive to such events. We pleased to be able to offer a home that has diverse use in a setting that is quiet, close to nature, and yet extremely close to upscale establishments that offer appropriate breakfast, cocktail hour, and fine dining experiences to enhance the events (whether meeting, retreat, or workshop) for employees and colleagues.

An Exquisite Property

Guest: JuliaCarla (Ridgewood, NJ. USA)
Date of Stay: 08/16/08 Review Submitted: 09/15/08

We had the most wonderful vacation in Maine made all the better for having such an amazing property at our disposal. George and the team have thought of absolutely everything...and I DO mean everything. The house is equipped to the highest standards; bedding. linens; glassware; you name it, it was all there. The house is expansive with more than enough space to accommodate communal events, dining etc. It also has sufficient nooks and cranies to allow easy escape from the extended family if that is what you wish. The children loved the media room (and so did we parents)! Oganquit is a beautiful town with a wide array of restaurants covering therange from Diner to High-End cuisine. You will need car if you want to explore beyond the immediate area. We particularly enjoyed kayaking around themeandering rivers watching the wildlife and escaping the crowded beaches. This is a simply magnificent property which you and your friends will thoroughly enjoy! Well done to George et al!

Owner response:Ogunquit is indeed a beautiful town and has the #1 best rated beach in New England. We have owned properties in many locations (including Cape Cod and New York City) and have never experienced a city or town with so many top-notch breakfast dining options (Bintliff's and Cafe Amore among the best) within a couple square miles, as just one example of Ogunqut's uniqueness. Seafood and non-seafod restaurants abound--and often at reasonable prices! In addition to all this, there are the nationally recognized restaurants (Arrows, Clay Hill Farm, and MC Perkins to name just a few!) that have been featured on network TV and in national "foodie magazines." The area is also fortunate to be the home of Stonewall Kitchen, When Pigs Fly Bakery, and Bread and Roses Bakery. In spite of all these options, the mission of our luxury home rental is to provide everything that you need to cook-in and comfortably dine-in if you choose to do so! The "nooks and crannies" of the house include a library/game room, home theater, and hot tub room. The large common areas include dining rooms, great room, three season room, family/theater room, decks, and yard. We are pleased to be able to provide so many options to our guests!
