Cottage #1 at Gulf Sounds, the 'TREASURE' of Treasure Island beach cottages, is an easy, safe 30 yard stroll to the beach boardwalk and the pristine beaches of Treasure Island. Our bungalow/cottage is in a small, intimate resort and is very private yet in the middle of all the activities of Treasure Island and Madeira Beach. You can access the beach in less than a minute and easily walk to World Famous John's Pass with its numerous fresh seafood restaurants, unique shops, ice cream parlors, chartered fishing boats, and waterfront bars. The Beach trolley stops at our corner, so you can visit all the beaches for one low fare per day. A public boat ramp is across the street.
Our charming Key West style 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage has almost 700 square feet and has been recently repainted and redecorated with new furnishings and appliances. Our cottage offers beautiful oak hardwood floors, a fully stocked kitchen, a tiled bath, a queen sleeper sofa, a love seat, a comfortable side chair, coffee and end tables in the living room, and seating for four in the dining area. We were searching for the quiet place with a small private yard because we have a baby. And it was! Everything was perfect, beach is just few steps away and almost private cause there is no big hotels nearby. The only thing the house is directly on the Gulf Blvd. and it was a bit noisy at night. The location is very convenient. St. Petersburg has few nice gardens and state parks where you can enjoy the green and different animals. There are some bars for young people around with live music.

Amazing spot! Not even a football field away from toes in the sand or beautiful clear water! Personalized welcome walking in the door to a chalkboard written with our names and what time sunset was! If I could post a photo you'd be amazed at the photo I captured at 7:04! We will be back. They have every beach necessity possible. Beautiful outside relaxing/eating area too!!!

My wife and I wanted a nice little getaway for our honeymoon and this cottage provided that and much more. Upon our arrival, a sign was hung in the kitchen welcoming us with a bottle of wine and flowers! The owners called to check on us and make sure everything was going well that Tuesday which was much appreciated! The cottage was in an ideal location for the beach, as well as easy access to local shops and restaurants. We will definitely be giving them a call for our future trips to Treasure Island! We are so thankful for the owners making this a very special honeymon for my wife and I!

Family Reunion Gathering Place
Family Reunion Gathering Place
The Liddell cottage was a perfect place for the family reunion of three (3) 80+ year old sisters and myself, the only daughter still living and able to chaperone the safety and well-being of the Aunts! It was just as the pictures portrayed on-line, clean and tastefully decorated. The bedding was supportive and cradled the ladies very comfortably, which meant they rested well! We kept finding everything we needed for our stay, right down to little necessary things! The short walk to the beach made it doable for the ladies, and the umbrella provided us with shade all day. We spent every evening gathered around the glass dining table, which was very conducive to playing cards! We took a Dolphin Tour at John's Pass and had a lovely adventure! There are several things to do within a short distance of this cottage. We met a very friendly woman cleaning the patio area, who quickly showed her concern for us. She even brought us fresh mangos. All four of us would like to recommend this cottage as a place of comfort and relaxation for a couple, or a small group! This cottage will hold a special place in our hearts, with memories of lots of laughter!

Do not pass this place up, the owners of this awesome cottage take great pride in it. We loved our stay there. This was our third time in Treasure Island but our first time at the cottage and we will call on them again when we are ready to visit Treasure Island. This little cottage really will help your stay in Treasure Island memorable. You are only a couple of minutes from the beach, just a short walkway and about a 10 minute walk to eating and shopping. The cottage is very clean and has everything you need. We really can't wait to return. Thank you so much for such a great place to stay :)

Owner response: Thanks, so much Cami. You really captured what we try to provide our guests. We look forward to your next stay!
Every thing we could ask for! Great location, friendly neighbors, 10 minute walk to Johns Pass. We had so much fun. The cottage was a true beach house. Everything was so comfortable. Beach towels, chairs and toys all included, who could ask for more. Went deep sea fishing for the first time with T-KAT charters. Another fantanstic Florida experience! And of course the water was beautiful and only a 2 minute walk to the beach. We will definately be staying at the cottage again! Thank you Ken and Angela!

Owner response: Thankyou Kevin for the nice review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Look forward to you staying with us in the future. Ken and Angela
The cottage was absolutely fantastic for our group. The place was clean, extremely close to the beach, and all the small touches provided by Ken and Angela were very much appreciated by our group. The neighbors were all extremely friendly to us, and the location to other restaurants and things to do in St. Pete's can't be beat. I would definitely recommend staying with the Gulf Shores!

My home away from home....
My home away from home....
Everything about the Liddell Cottage is exactly as shown in the photographs and more. The property is beautifully maintained. Ken and Angela provided a lovely welcome basket and a personal telephone call. The beach is a stone's throw from the property's main gate and John's Pass for great shops and restaurants (Sculley's) is a short walk over the drawbridge. Grocery and drug stores as well as an abundant of restaurants (The Middle Ground Grill, Conch Raw Bar and Grill, Foxy's, The Seahorse) and pubs (Caddy's, Rickey T's) are all a very short drive away. Live music (blues, jazz, country, margaretaville, rock, etc.) is always the norm in Treasure Island. You have your pick of venues and musically entertainment. The city of Tampa is about a 30 minute drive away and the airport is extremely accessible. Tampa has a terrific aquarium and waterfront walking paths, hockey team, and baseball spring training. It is a beautiful city. My family and I enjoyed our stay in the heart of Treasure Island at this very beautiful cozy cottage. We are looking forward to coming back next year! Thank you Ken and Angela for sharing your treasure.

About the owner: We are both transplanted New Englanders - Angela from Gloucester, MA and Ken from Medford, MA - just outside Boston (Go Sawks). We've been married for 36 years and together for 41, yet we're only 48 - go figure (lol). We've lived in a number of states and traveled some, but always wanted to be near the water. Our new Granddaughter brought us to FL.
Why the Owner Chose Treasure Island:
As soon as we saw this cottage it felt like the beach we knew and loved. A bit of Key West, a touch of Cape Ann. And the best part - the beach is only steps away. It is a particularly wonderful stretch of beach - lots of shells for collectors, great fishing, we've never seen it crowded, and it's just a short walk to the water. It would seem that the number of people that have reserved time this year, and into next - who have been staying here for years speaks to the cleanliness of the cottage, the comfortable setting within the compound and the proximity to our wonderful stretch of beach. If that doesn't, our reviews certainly do.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
You don't need a car to access a range of eateries, live music, deep sea fishing tours, boat rentals, parasailing, jet ski rentals, and so much more. Many options are available a short walk away at John's Pass. The Beach Trolley stops in front of Gulf Sounds and will take you up and down the beach or to the local supermarket - Publix - along Gulf Blvd. But the gem is our beach. Access is only steps away from the cottage.
