This is a beautiful house in a very peaceful setting. Patsy, the owner, was very helpful in responding to questions and ensuring our ski weekend was a success. The kids were busy skiing and visiting the pool and hot tubs. My husband and I were able to enjoy a quiet morning drinking espressos from the Saeco coffee machine and enjoying the peace before heading out to lunch at one of the new breweries, Wild Wolf Brewing. I highly recommend this house.

From the booking process to friendly checkout, our family had an amazing Wintergreen visit at Tesoro! Our two daughters and their husbands, two grandchildren, and our son home on military leave for the first time in eight months spent some quality time in our spacious accommodations eating lots of good food and sharing many laughs. We had family over for dinner(my brother owns a home on the mountain) so 20 of us had plenty of room and all were impressed with the comfort and 'hominess' of Tesoro. Patsy, I'm giving my sister your contact info - they have owned a house at Wintergreen previously and loved your place! Many, many thanks for a lovely time!

Wonderful Mountain Setting - Great attention to detail

We spent the Christmas Weekend at Tesoro and could not have more pleased with our great get-away. No detail was overlooked and it is obvious the owners have lavished plenty of TLC on Tesoro. I felt like a guest in their home rather than just a vacation rental. The owners had thoughtfully sent a table top live Christmas Tree arrangement for our stay. Other than our groceries, everything we needed for our stay was provided. Although there were only two of us with a tiny Yorkie in tow, the design of the house (bedrooms at each end with separate staircases and living areas in the middle) is ideal for two families or multi-generational groups and we hope to return for another stay.

This was our second time in the past year staying at Tesoro and like last February it was absolutely wonderful!!! We were hoping for some snow for our four year old triplets during the week before Christmas, but did not get it. But the kids still had the most awesome time seeing and climbing their favorite big boulders from months before, feeding the goldfish in a pond up the golf course, riding their tricycles along the golf cart path, and going to the indoor pool. As for Bumper, our pug, she has done nothing but sleep since getting home. And my wife Jackie continues to rave about her two trips to the Spa. If you want a beautiful, FULLY furnished house, a truly scenic and quiet setting, and the best owners you could come across… I strongly recommend Tesoro!!! Very comfortable home

We just spent Thanksgiving weekend here and had a great stay. It was especially nice to have the golf course closed so we could just walk out the door and take a long walk on the green. The furniture was comfortable and arranged in a way that made it easy to visit with family. The kitchen was a little small (for thanksgiving preparation), but well stocked and conveniently located within the sitting areas, so you could still enjoy family while cooking. The Master suite was great, with a king bed and large bathroom. The bedroom on the main floor has a double bed which is a little small for two people, but there was a queen upstairs and two sets of bunks. The deck was great! The basket of toys were a plus for our grandson to play with. Good tv reception and good wifi connection. Cell phone service was iffy, but it's that way all over the mountain...

Our family really enjoyed this home. The view of the golf course was great!!!The home was furnished beautifully!!! My son has Asthma and will get sick if we vacation in a home that is dirty or musty. Everything was clean and fresh smelling. The deck is huge and the views of the golf course were awesome!!! Our family is looking forward to returning in the winter!!!! The kitchen was fully equipped with all the extras. We were extremely comfortable in this home.

College friends with small children

We booked at the very last minute and had small children and dogs in our party. Everything went very smoothly, and everyone had a great and relaxing weekend. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked all meals there. The deck is perfect for letting kids and dogs run without worry. The amenities and decor are better than you would expect in a rental. The only note I would make for families, is that if you have very little ones, you may just pack your own child's bowl or plate from home as we were a bit worried of breaking any of the nice dishes this home offers. We also took note many times of the bug deterring system they have in the home (little white boxes in many outlets). It was wonderful to sit outside without the bugs that typically would bother us, even in the city. I would recommend this home to anyone considering a stay at Wintergreen, or a nice retreat from the DC area.

As Hurricane Irene approached our homes on the Outer Banks of NC in August, our family decided to leave, go as far west as possible, and turn a hasty evacuation into an unexpected family vacation. Tesoro at Wintergreen was the perfect spot and Patsy couldn't have been more responsive and helpful in setting everything up for us in a matter of hours. Although we enjoy ski vacations at Wintergreen, we'd never been at this time of year. It was a wonderful! The beauty of the mountains was breath-taking. Nelson County Farmer's market on Saturday morning, the Nature Center, hiking the trails, dinner at Devil's Knob Brewery, Sunday worship at the Lookout, games, meals we prepared, . . . The 8 of us--my husband and I, his 85 year old parents, our daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren ages 8 and 5--had such a special, memory-making time together at Tesoro. Thank you, Patsy!

Truly Outstanding Vacation Rental!!!

Since I went on travel upon returning from Wintergreen and my wife had her hands full with our 3.5 year old triplets in my absence, we wish to expand upon her short review of Feb 28 (Jackie/Virginia Beach). Tesoro is a very spacious and warm home in a beautiful, heavily wooded and secluded area that surprisingly is still only several hundred yards from the center of the Wintergreen Resort. When the owners say Tesoro is fully equipped.... it really is, right down to the smallest kitchen utensil and paper item. Put simply, it would be the same if you and I switched homes tommorow morning! The kids had a wonderful time with the toys provided, the playstaion, walking the woods, discovering and climbing large rocks, and trying their first hand at ice skating and tubing. And, our little female pug, Bumper, absolutely loved exploring the big outdoors. We recommend Tesoro to anyone who would like to spend a carefree week in the beautiful mountains, and who would like to deal with truly thoughtful, wonderful owners. Our Narnia Christmas Vacation 2010

Our family of 7 loved everything about Tesoro. The accomodations were clean, all the windows were perfect to view the winter wonderland outdoors, and everything was there that we could possibly need. It was a first class accomodation without one negative thing to say.The house lay out was truly perfect for us as I (The Grandma) was unable to ski and the 2 year old was a little under the weather so we stayed home and were perfectly happy to spend the whole day there. You all thought of everything (even toys!). We are from Florida, and not used to getting snowed in..so that was rather challenging at check out....but you told us where to find the shovel and rake and the men dug the path for the vehichles to make it up the grade to where the snow plow had stopped.To be able to reach the owner by phone whenever needed was truly a blessing. We pray and hope to return next Christmas.

Recently, my husband and I enjoyed a fabulous 4 days at Tesoro. The weather was chilly (perfect!) and the atmosphere was heavenly! The home is warm, cozy, and beautifully appointed. Everything you could possibly need, or want, is right at your finger tips. Patsy was particularly helpful with recommendations for dinners, and enjoying everything that Wintergreen Resort and the surrounding area has to offer. She kept us informed, and made sure everything was to our satifaction! She was a phone call or email away in case we had any questions. We moved on to another destination, after four days at Tesoro, wishing we had stayed the remainder of our Virginia trip at Tesoro! It truly is a wonderful atmosphere to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Just beautiful! Thank you Patsy for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Tesoro!!

A Cozy Retreat

We felt right at home from the moment we walked in. Tesoro is well furnished. The decor is very soothing and welcoming. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms darken so nicely that they invite you to take a midday nap. The house is conveniently located near the golf course, while the ski slopes and dining are only minutes away. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

We had a lovely time at your home. The bedding and layout of the house worked beautifully. The area with the fireplace and the separate area with the TV allowed the grownups to have their “own space!” I would have to say that the house was so well stocked with amenities that it really felt like we were staying in a home and not a “rental.” My siblings and their families enjoyed themselves tremendously and my Mom truly raved about all of your decorations. We have some really great memories. You have a beautiful home and I hope we left everything in order! By the way, I did notice one of the buttons from the duvet cover in the double room came off – so I put it in the dish by the bed. Thanks again and I hope we can possibly rent from you in the future.

We are repeat visitors to Tesoro -- it is fabulous in every respect. It's perfect for families and we love the fact that our 2 young boys can watch the golfers from the enclosed deck, enjoy the Play Station, and get to all the activities -- pool, hiking trails, Nature Center, play grounds. The open floor plan allows us to be together without feeling cramped! We'll never rent another place!

This home truly is a gem! My three children (ages 8,6 and 2) LOVE all of the activities that Wintergreen has to offer year-round. This "home away from home" has been the perfect place for us to stay. The children's rooms are on one side of the house while the adults have the other side. A highchair, stoller, and crib are all stored at the house, which is so convenient! WiFi, satellite TV, a granite-dressed gourmet kitchen, a huge dining room table, comfy leather couches...it's all 5-star! We hope you enjoy your time at Tesoro as much as we've enjoyed ours!
