I fell in love with this wonderful vacation property at the Sweetwater Ranch. There was everything that I could have dreamed off at my fingertips. Stunning views of the mountains, the horse pastures and the river. The house featured mountain bikes, wide ranging library, kayak, basketball court and large fire pit. Montana's long summer days made our vacation seem so much more relaxing. I road my bike down the road to swim in the river park every morning while Grandpa fished the creek at the bottom of the driveway. The whole family got in the hot tub nightly where the conversation flowed for hours. There is a cool, covered deck for afternoon reading and the LOCATION WAS PERFECT - located close to several lakes, the river, Glacier Park and numerous golf courses. The beds were very comfortable and the soaking tub in the upstairs bathroom fits two. The teenagers played basketball nonstop and enjoyed puzzles and games in the evenings. I actually enjoyed the vacation more than our last vacation on the water because we didn't have to watch the grandkids so closely. I highly recommend this glorious, comfortable, well stocked, super spacious home!! Montana truly is the Last Best Place - we will be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This vacation was one that our family will always remember - the house is very large and rambling with plenty of cozy corners for reading and writing and large comfortable living room and dining room for family time. The views from all the windows were out of this world with the magnificent Swan Range to the East for sunrise, the creek and river to the west for sunset and covered and open decks to enjoy the montana landscape. The house is equipped with everything that we could have dreamed of for vacations. Games, puzzles, books, movies, bicycles, kayak, swing set, basketball court and volley ball. Location - location - location - we were close to fine dining, hiking, swimming, Glacier National Park, zip lining at Whitefish Mountain, running, walking and biking routes right out the front door and a hot tub big enough for the whole group. Evenings were spent in front of the large campfire under the big sky. The owners were gracious and helpful. It was a perfect vacation and of all the times we have visited the US - this was by far our favorite vacation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We took our 3 daughters and 2 dogs and went to Sweet Water for the whole summer. It was an absolutely unbelievable experience. The house was great... the views were spectacular and the hospitality was like none other! Just to add... my 5-yo and 7-yo spent most of their days feeding, groom, riding and "playing" with Levi... the beloved horse in the meadow. What better way to spend a summer! We plan on returning next summer (2011) and our children canNOT wait!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Sweetwater Ranch has an incredible location on a bluff with great mountain views including the Swan Range, Big Mountain ski area at Whitefish, and more mountains to the west. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. The ranch has plenty of room for a family reunion. The master bedroom has great views of the pastures and mountains. There is a tree house with a double bed in it for time away from the family. The house has a fantastic family room with a wood burning stove. The large pine dining table with benches easily can sit 14-16 people and is a great place to sit and visit. The kitchen has all you need for a vacation. Outside, the ranch has a gas grill and a giant charcoal grill. There is a fire pit for making some’mores and sitting around at night watching the stars. We have stayed at the Ranch twice, once last summer and once this winter over Christmas, and are planning to stay there next summer for about 10 days. We live in Alabama with grandkids in Washington so we were looking for a place for the family to get together out West. We could not have picked a better place to go with the family. The ranch is private and quiet but it is close to Kalispell and to Big Fork so there is a wide range of restaurants and shopping within a short drive. Glacier is about 40 to 50 minutes away as is the ski resort at Big Mountain in Whitefish. In the summer, there is a lot to do at Whitefish including ziplining and hiking and in the winter there is great skiing and snowboarding as well as a fantastic place for dog sledding in Olney. Glacier is a great place to visit and there are some close by lakes for swimming and kayaking. The ranch provides an inflatable kayak that you can use. There is a stream for fishing at the bottom of the driveway and the Flathead Lake is close. This area of Montana is a great place for hiking. But if you do not want to do anything at all, then you can just sit back and relax. There are plenty of shady trees and lots of space for the kids to run around. There is a hot tub on the deck off the big family room, another great place to relax. The big field is a great place for volleyball, badminton and even a baseball game. The kids (and adults) love giving the friendly ranch horses carrots. There is even the local ranch cat Fred who wanders by for a visit. We were there in late June and early July and the weather was spectacular with cool nights and pleasantly warm days. In the winter, it is very peaceful and quiet. The ranch backs up onto unDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The aptly-named Sweetwater Ranch evokes splendid summer memories for my children and me, our trips there the last ten plus years have always been magical. We drove or flew laden down with backpacks and life jackets. It didn't matter what transported us, it was all about the destination: a piece of wild mountain heaven. Pulling up to the handsome ranch house, we are struck by the Swan Mountains soaring from high mountain meadows. Beautiful horses nicker their welcome and trot to the fence for handfuls of Sweetwater grass. Bed claiming comes next, my daughter wants the bed with running wild horses and matching towels. I grab the huge master with grand views of the lower pasture and craggy peaks of jewel Basin. My son hits the hottub on the deck with a tasty chaw of jalapeno buffalo jerky from the store down the road. Having come from the island that is long in New York, I don running clothes to hit the trails. My little tomboy runs off to find Haladay Quist for some fly fishing and canoeing on the Flathead River. We all relax and breathe. Glacier Park and spectacular hiking are an hour away. The huge lake, Flathead, is also a hop away. The Sweetwater Ranch house is a marvel of comfort and accessibility. Call it yours!Owner response: Thank you very much for your comments and it has been delightfull getting to know your family. Thank you, Bonni Quist

Dear Bonni and Rob, We can't thank you enough for giving us the opportunity to stay in your home. It is the perfect spot for our family reunion and the kids are already asking when we may return! More importantly, Scott and I truly enjoyed our private time in the treehouse. Close enough if the kids needed us but far enough away to feel the peaceful quietness of the ranch and forest. My dad is still talking about all the fish he caught! You have something for everyone and we all had an enriching experience. Thank you again for this wonderful opportunity.
