We're just about to leave for the airport after a week-long stay here. This was a great experience! The owner provided lots of detail about the apartment before we arrived (it can be a bit hard to find the first time without detailed instructions). In town for my son's wedding, we found it to be an excellent location for access to the Old City, Ben Yehuda shopping/dining, and the major residential areas. The apartment has all the comforts of home and is clean and very well maintained. I highly recommend it and we look forward to staying here again on our next visit!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My wife and two kids (11 and 13) rented the apartment during our spring break vacation in Jerusalem and we're so glad we did. First off, if you're the type that likes to be pampered in the spa like settings of a 5 star hotel, then this will not be for you. But, if you really want to emerse yourself in the city you're visiting and want to - if only just temporarily - imagine what's it's like to live in such a fantastic place, then I think you will not find a better situated apartment than this one. The apartment is exactly as it is described in the listing. It's VERY close to Jaffa gate of the old city, and likewise to trendy shopping at the Mamilla mall. The apartment is located in an older building that may not be the nicest looking place in the world, but the people more than make up for it and apartment is very well appointed and spacious. A small grocery store is just down the street and remains open until 10pm Sun-Thurs. Like others, we had some very minor issues, but they were resolved quickly by the owner (our apartment neighbor works closely with the owner and was also very helpful). We had zero problems, felt very safe, and enjoyed interacting with the locals and cooking our own meals in the evening. Do yourself a favor, skip the frenetic atmosphere of a touristy hotel and instead imagine yourself a resident of this wonderful city.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Our family of five from northern California spent a week here and it suited our needs perfectly. The apartment is ideally situated within walking distance of the Old City and shopping areas, with a nearby grocery store and several friendly coffee cafes within a block or two. Whatever minor issues we had with the apartment were responded to immediately by the owner, who was fast off the mark and helpful with all sorts of suggestions. The one additional point I'd make is that while six people could potentially stay here, it's optimal for four or five. We'd certainly stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This apartment is clean, comfortable, modern, spacious, and in one of the best possible locations. We stayed for a week and loved it. The apartment is tastefully furnished, beds are comfortable, bathrooms are well appointed, and overall necessities are amply provided. There is no need for a car. We found ourselves a short walk from the Old City and the Kotel. The apartment is a two minute walk away from Mamilla, Rechov Yafo, and the light rail. The apartment is located in a quiet residential building set back from the main street. Owners are a pleasure to deal with, responsive, and accommodating in every possible way.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Our party of 6 (4 adults, 2 children) found the apartment to be comfortable, functional and very convenient: exactly mid-way between the Old City (Jaffa Gate, Mamilla Mall) and Sion Square of West Jerusalem. Everything in and around the Old City, including Bus 21 to Bethlehem, public buses and the new Jerusalem Light Rail line, is within easy walking distance of the apartment. We did not miss having a car. The apartment was fully furnished with everything you need for sleeping (up to 5 in beds, the 6th person can sleep on a couch with the owner's prior consent); eating (it is constructed and furnished to observe Kashrut, upon request to the owner); and washing (two showers, a Euro style over/ under dryer/ washer). All utilities work: water, oven, cooktop, air conditioners, washer/ dryer, etc. The apartment was clean. If you have any problem, then the owner arranges prompt repairs (e.g. in our experience, to charge an air conditioner with freon). There are two full bathrooms, which will be unusual for Jerusulem properties in its peer group. The high speed internet was always reliable. The furnishings are as-expected for a vacation-rental: clean, comfortable and functional. If it matters to you, there is no TV. The listing photos are accurate; but, the actual view of the Temple Mount is better than the photo on the website! The apartment is situated up two short flights of stairs in an unpretentious residential building which is off Shivtei Yisrael Street. In the area (across Shivtei Israel) is the Jerusalem Municipal Administration complex of Safra Square. The building is peaceful at night; it was very safe. We were not around during the daytime, except to make drop-offs (bags, change clothes, wash-up)-- the apartment is so convenient, it is no interruption to the day to stop-by! The owner is very responsive to (i) answer questions before and during booking, (ii) offer assistance and (iii) act on requests during the stay. As a nice touch, she gives advance notice of the (limited) times when she can't be reached! The commercial aspects of the lodging were arranged quickly, easily, reasonably and fairly. We used eBanking for making payment (security deposit, rent) in the USA. I always felt confident in the owner. In sum, the apartment is worry-free, safe, comfortable and extremely convenient. The apartment represents good value, which enables larger groups or families to be close to the Old City. And, the owner is trustworthy and helpful.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My wife and three small children and I just ended a great 20 day stay in this property! The location of the apartment, the size and accomidations were just perfect. The owner was easy to work with, and if we needed anything, they were ready to furnish it... The apartment was clean, the appliances were new, and the view was spectacular, dome of the rock and mountain of olives was a great back drop... Although there was no parking attached to the property, we had two lots which were very close and easy. The property was in walking distance of the Kotel (wall), the old city, the Mechane Yehuda, the trainline, the bus stops infront of the building, and there is a great play ground for children behind the the building. We had a great time and look forward to renting from this owner again!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The location is fantastic--only about a 5 minute walk to the "New Gate" for the Old City. Lots of good restaurants within 10 minute walk and just a 5 minute walk to the light rail. (The light rail stops within walking distance of Yad Vashem, among many other places). Wonderful apartment amenities--WIFI in the apartment works great (unlike some other places where I have stayed) and the washer and dryer worked perfectly. Very nice bathrooms and well equipped with soap, toilet paper, paper towels, iron, ironing board, and hair dryer. Our family of four stayed for 9 nights and the spaciousness of the living room and dining area were much appreciated. The owner was extremely helpful in answering my questions throughout our planning for the trip and very hospitable. Wonderful value for the location and amenities.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Great location (15 minute walk to the Kotel, 5 minutes to Yafo, Ben Yehuda and the Mamilla mall.) All was as advertised and photographed. Excellent facilities and heating. The owner was wonderful to deal with, both before and during our visit. I would recommend renting the apartment and hope to do so again on our next visit.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The apartment is in an older building, but well rehabbed and very clean. Having not only a washing machine but also a dryer was a real luxury, and a big benefit in a Jerusalem winter (when things can take a while to dry on the line). The bathrooms were first-rate, as were the furnishings. The location is very convenient to the city center and Old City -- both in easy walking distance. The neighbors, though they speak little English, were lovely. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: My husband and I moved to Israel from the United States in 1986. I am from Brooklyn, New York and my husband is from Houston Texas . We feel very priveleged and lucky to be living in Israel. We love it. We bought this apartment to rent to tourists visiting Jerusalem to help support our oldest son who is married and studying.
Why the Owner Chose Jerusalem:
The location is very central and within walking distance to many tourist sites and shopping, and cafes. We love to stay in the apartment ourselves when it is not booked.
It is near the Western Wall and the Old City of Jeusalem. It is also close to many Christian holy sites.
It is walking distance to the downtown /city center area where you can shop or find a place to eat. There are many options for eating ranging from salads, falafel, shwarma, pizza, frozen yogurt, burgers and elegant restaurants where you can order a gourmet meal.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
I first fell in love with the view. The view is really special. I started appreciating the location with time when I understood how close it was to the Western Wall and to the Old City and the City Center.
