Located at magnificent Cabo Matapalo, with towering tropical trees surrounding the house, a visit here is a privilege. At the tip of the Osa Peninsula this jewel is surrounded by the exotic gardens providing scarlet macaws and toucans flying all over served with your breakfast. Private streams give endangered species of frogs and crustaceans home along hiking trails to provide families a chance to view and appreciate nature at its finest.

Roca Dura Lodge is located at the tip of Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula in remote Cabo Mata Palo, this is about 12 miles from the town of Puerto Jimenez. The trip from San José by car takes about 6 to 8 hours. There is also fights from San José to Puerto Jimenez 7 day a week and the trip takes about an hour. There is also a daily bus service from San José.

The House is made in a jungle efficient way but without abandoning modern life commodities such as electricity, refrigeration, completely equipped kitchen, furniture, hammocks, and a comfortable bath. The farm's abundant fruits and vegetables can be used by the guests when in season. You can also use the local caretaker as a cook if needed.

Roca Dura offers you superb world class surfing in a virgin rain forest ocean beach. Catch incredible waves right in front of the lodge or at several surf beaches just walking distance away. Afterwords, if you really want more ocean, then try the incredible fishing, snorkeling, and kayaking that's available all around this natural marvel.

Enjoy multiple nature trails that go through the coastal forest. Experience close contact with the abundant wildlife all around! Hiking or horseback riding are perfect ways to explore all of this biological wonder... and while you are at it, visit an awesome 60 ft. waterfall! This is the perfect setting for nature lovers and bird-watchers. Excellent birdwatching and hiking for the naturalist.
