We stayed in this house Labor day weekend. It was great. The private beach was ours every day we were the only ones using it. Same as the dock!! We fished to our hearts content. We caught 10 fishes during our stay and brought them home cleaned and ready for the pan! The house was very clean and in a great location. Close to everything. The owner even provided a list of restaurants, recreational and shopping. Thanks to that list we were able to explore the Keys in more detail. I've lived in Miami all my life and been to the Keys lots of time, but never knew half of the establishments that were on that list. Next time unfortunately due to my knees I have to rent a one story house. Thanks for a great time!!! Maria & Chino

My son and I came down to Scuba dive. The house is not far from everything you could need. The owner (James) will provide you with loads of information on the area, restaurants, and activities. There is a neighborhood boat ramp to use and there are Kayaks at the house. I loved reading the books in the house about The Keys history on the upper porch while sitting in the cool breeze coming off the ocean. This house is perfect for a family of two parents and up to three kids in the bunk beds.

We spent a really goods holidays in this house . The owner is very clear and honnest when i asked him about many questions before to choose his cottage. He wrote me very quickly despite his work. When you arrive at the vacation rental and during your holiday , you are very free , James let you very quiet..... The cottage is not a luxury one but is good enough and it is not so pricey . Family ( Paula and his husband) who live near the house is very kind and purposed to help us if we needed! My husband was enchanted by the canoe and i was enchanted by the terrace to read a book. We are very happy to went in Key Largo because is in the middle of Miami and Key West .Not so far to Naples too. There are so many things to do for every day. Beaches, shopping, sports, restaurants , visites etc....... Thank you for all James!!! We maybe will come back..... Frederique et Rene BENEAT PARIS

Great house! Everything you could possibly need is there. The kitchen has plenty of utensils etc. The hot tub is great, the balcony is nice to sit and have your coffee in the morning. It's a short drive to anywhere you want to go in the Keys. We definitely recommend a stay here. The Proulx's

The house is just as nice as described and pictured on this website. Moreover, the owner sent us a ton of information on things to do and see that was really fantastic. Mike's also a really nice guy and a pleasure to deal with.

Your home offered such a variety of fun things to do. The hot tob was divine. Being able to sit on the deck and read, or soak in the sun was bliss. The plant life, all the beautiful trees and shrubs were amazing. The friendliness of neighbors was much appreciated. Being able to take a short walk to the private beach was a Godsend. We had such a fabulous time in your beautiful home. It was nice to be able to come into your clean home, and to see everything decorated in such a fun way. The smells of the ocean, and the plant life was so wonderful. Listening to the birds, the wind blowing the palm leaves, the taste of the salty air. Oh so, serene. I really did not want to go back home. I could have stayed much longer. I will consider your home, my home away from home in the future. Bless you for sharing your home with us and making our trip to Florida so memorable. We had such a grand time. The boating facilites near by, the hot spots for sight seeing, the restaurants in such close proximity of your home was so much appreciated and so convenient. I would recommend, and have, your home as a vacation hot spot for many others to use. Thank you for such grand hospitality.

It was said before by another guest, but this house was a GREAT base of operations. Pennekamp is just miles away, the beach is close, other public beaches/ parks are also close and the weather was amazing. The house itself is beautiful, and the downstairs patio/ screen area (pictured) is great for evenings. Everything was great :)

My family vacationed at this house the week of March 4th to 11th in 2006. The property was in excellent condition with easy access to US-1. Everything was as advertised and we had a very enjoyable week. The neighborhood is very small, friendly and safe. The landlord followed up when we arrived and before we left to be sure that all was satisfactory. This is a great property in a great location at an excellent price. We have been to the Keys to dive a number of times and usually stay at a hotel. We decided to try renting a house and we are all glad we did. This was the best choice we have made and I would recommend it to any family for a Keys vacation. We will return and stay here again!

My family and friends stayed at this house the week of November 18th - 25th, 2005. The house is in a very convenient location, especially since we were planning on spending time both in Homestead and in the Lower Keys. The home was very clean and well supplied. The neighborhood was very quiet and we enjoyed our mornings on the front deck drinking our coffee. The private beach and pier are very close and we were able to enjoy the sunsets at night from the pier. It was just beautiful. While there are televisions in every room, it was great to be able to all congregate in the downstairs screened in porch to all watch a movie together. Plus, we didn't have to run upstairs to make popcorn or grab more sodas. We just used the kitchen downstairs. We can't wait to be able to visit Key Largo again, and when we do, we will be staying at this house again. I would also like to add that the landlord was very kind and did everything possible to make our trip enjoyable.

My wife and I rented this cottage on our recent dive trip to Key Largo (8 nights) and what can I say except that it was a perfect base of operations. The cottage is cozy enough for two, but several more could stay without being crowded. We turned out to need it more than expected, as Hurricane Katrina closed down dive operations fo a few days, so it was especially nice to be there, where we had all of the comforts of home and none of the noise of a hotel. This was definitely worth every cent we spent and I think you'll be impressed too!

This is a CHARMING and COZY beach cottage! My husband and I spent two weeks there and LOVED it! It is in a neighborhood with primarily locals which is nice - very NON-touristy. We even made friends with a couple down the street who live there year-round! :) The house itself is beautifully decorated and well-stocked (we were excited to find a waffle iron!). We don't have kids but there is a great kids room with bunk beds and a nice tv. The upstairs wrap-around porch is wonderful for breakfast and there is even a little pass through window to the kitchen which is great for gathering up the dishes or passing through an extra cup of coffee in the morning! :) The downstairs rec room is truly unique. It is screened in with ceiling fans, an awesome tv and dvd player and a full kitchen which we used a lot! There is a ping pong table down there, an outside table and a HUGE hot tub which ALONE will do wonders for your stress level! There is even a key lime tree in the front yard and we could always find freshly fallen ones (the yellow ones are sweeter!) for our Coronas! :) The beach access is down the street, an easy stroll. It is a very small beach (because the mangroves are protected) but very private - we only saw one other person out there one day the whole time we were there. And we recommend taking a float and snorkel mask out there (water is very shallow and clear) and floating around in the bay to check out the sea life. And we took champagne down to the dock one evening which paired very nicely with the awesome sunset! :) If you want a beach with a little more action, go to Holiday Isle down the road. It is open to the public, you can rent a beach chair for $5 a day and it is very pretty, plus there is an awesome direct ocean front raw bar with a fabulous grouper sandwich and yummy fried shrimp. We also went to the Sheraton which is for guests only technically but there is a watersports place that is open to the public (we parasailed - AWESOME!) and a wonderful beachfront grill you can go to that has fabulous cheeseburgers and Rum Runners. Around town, there are plenty of restaurants and shops. The Publix and Winn-Dixe are close. The library nearby won't let you check out books if you're not from Florida BUT they have an assortment of free books and magazines that people donate. :) There is a VERY cool place called the Rain Barrell that sells local Florida art including paintings, gorgeous dishes, beautiful sculptures, and a lot more.
