This top floor, Chateau Roaring Fork corner condo with 270-degree views is located just three blocks from the Aspen Mountain Silver Queen Gondola, City Market and Downtown. The cathedral ceiling and floor to ceiling glass wall make it feel even larger than it is. From the spacious living/dining room you are treated to views of Aspen Mountain; and from the Master Bedroom are views of the Roaring Fork River and Independence Pass.
The owners of this beautifully furnished mountain home just completed a designer re-model of the living, kitchen and bedroom areas in 2008 and the bathrooms in June, 2010. The master bath has a shower with two shower heads and a center window. The view from one shower head is Little Nell and the Gondola, and from the other shower head is the Roaring Fork River and Independence Pass, and it has a radiant heated floor.
Our goal was to capture the spectacular views and location; while stressing comfort, coziness and convenience. We set the place up exactly as we wanted it for ourselves, and assumed that is what others who love Aspen will enjoy also. The floor to ceiling glass on the south and west sides of the dining room brings the mountain inside. You have your morning coffee while watching skiers on Little Nell. This is the best location to watch Aspen’s renowned fireworks displays.
The kitchen and dining room feature granite countertops with a matching granite table for eight. There is a new gourmet kitchen, including cherry cabinets, a large gas range, and all new stainless steel appliances with a convection oven/microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator with icemaker, a separate wine cooler and a gas grill on the deck.
The living room has a gas fireplace inserted in an artist designed tile chimney and a flat screen television with DVD. You relax on a large, upscale leather couch, with both cove and Italian glass lighting fixtures. The unit is fully serviced by Wi-Fi, allowing you to work comfortably on your laptop. Comcast cable to all of the televisions includes HBO and On Demand.
The Master Bedroom has a king size bed with a superfoam mattress, a flat screen television, an I-Pod docking system with a clock radio and a wall mounted fountain.
The other two bedrooms have wall mounted flat screen televisions with DVD’s, I-Pod docking system with clock radios and two extra length twin beds. At your request, the twin beds can be joined and made as a king size bed.
Your stay includes DAILY MAID SERVICE. Fresh towels and linens are provided daily, and sheets are changed after three days. Free domestic long distance calling is provided. There is also a full size washer and dryer, and a Rinnai Instant hot water system assuring that you will never run out of hot water.
The Chateau Roaring Fork has the largest pool in Aspen, accompanied by two large hot tubs. They are great meeting places in which to soak after skiing, and a wonderful amenity in the summertime also. There is also a sauna, a small workout room, and community access to computers in case you didn’t bring your laptop.
The rules of the Condominium Association prohibit you from bringing any Pets. Management vigorously enforces The NO-PET rule. Also, this is a NON-SMOKING UNIT.
Because of the convenient location and Aspen’s wonderful public transportation system you do not need a car while staying here. If you do bring a car you will need a pass to park it in the condominium’s lot. This will be provided at no charge.
Weekly rentals with Saturday-to-Saturday stays are preferred. There is generally a three-day minimum stay, with a seven-day minimum at select times. Daily and Weekly rates are listed. Monthly rates can be negotiated. All taxes are additional. Owner reserves the right to change rates at any time in the future. Payment is due 50% with your reservation and the balance 30 days prior to arrival. You must provide a copy of your drivers license and a credit card to cover any damage. Sunny Aspen Penthouse - Par 4 to Gondola - Gr8 Unit - Gr8 View
Year Purchased: 1986
Why the Owner Chose Chateau Roaring Fork
We had owned another condominium about a block away from this one since 1972. It did not have the open sunny feel we now enjoy, nor did it have the spectacular views that we always coveted in this Chateau Roaring Fork unit. When this high ceilinged, south facing unit, with 270 degree views including both the Roaring Fork river and Aspen mountain came available in 1986 we jumped on it. We knew that its sunny exposure with all day sun, and high ceilings made it very special. We were right.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
We try to never touch a car while we are in Aspen. We either walk or take our bike everywhere. The Gondola and Little Nell Hotel are straight out our door, down the street, a par 4 away. City Market is two blocks away. All of downtown Aspen is at your fingertips, as are bike paths, the Ute Trail, and the bus station. This is the perfect example of Location, Location, Location!
Until late 2008 we rented our unit through management companies, but frankly, after our unit fix up we wanted to know who was staying our unit; and we wanted to provide our guests with a higher degree of cleaning and service than what we were experiencing with the management companies.
Our housekeeper, Abi, is loved by all of our guests. Abi usually provides daily maid service. Abi was previously a supervisor of housekeeping at one of Aspens best known hotels. She has taught us a lot, that has made our guests very happy.
The Silver Queen Gondola is the primary access up Aspen Mountain, the plaza down below connects it to the world renowned Little Nell Hotel.
Regular bus service to Snowmass, Highlands, Buttermilk, Glenwood Springs.
Pedestrian mall with great restaurants, boutiques, people and dog watching
The complex has the largest swimming pool in Aspen. It is open year round. Busiest apres ski, and with families in the summertime, after morning activities before the music festival.
Owner's Map of Chateau Roaring Fork
We met on a chairlift on Aspen Mountain in 1974. We live in Colorado, and so come up often, skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, hiking, riding our tandem bike (the adjoining picture of us with our tandem is on the bike trail in Glenwood Canyon), enjoying the music festival in the summer and relaxing by the pool complex at our place. In 2008 we completed a designer remodel of our unit, with the goal of making it the most comfortable and inviting. After an active day we often times grill on the barbecue on our deck, a wonderful place from which to toast the sunset and appreciate what a wonderful place Aspen is.

After spending many Christmas/New Years in Aspen in many condos, I found this one to be one of the best. Very comfortable, very well equipped, very clean, great bathrooms, amazing views, and a great owner to deal with. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and were very comfortable in the unit. The unit was a lot larger than what the pictures portray.

James' condo had everything we needed, and he was a pleasure to work with. Perfectly located and equipped for a family holiday, this condo is two blocks from a fullsize grocery store, has a generously sized pool and hottub that was used almost exclusively by our family during our stay (nobody else there on all but one occasion), has top-quality fullsized washer/dryer in the unit, and is located within walking distance of all Aspen attractions. Look no further--this is it, and James will make sure you have the info you need to experience Aspen with your interests in mind. Beautiful place, beautiful town. Thanks, James.

This was our 2nd timing staying in this condo and we were equally impressed this year. This property is extremely well taken care, which makes for such a comfortable stay. The property includes all the comforts of home, and is beautifully decorated. You are a short walk to anything you need, and just minutes from amazing bike trails/hikes. Sitting on the deck watching the sun set is one of our favorite things to do there! Working with James is so nice, which only makes us more excited to come back next year. Thank you for sharing your wonderful place- our family has made so many great memories there!

I just returned from 4 nights in Aspen and James' condo completely exceeded my expectations. The unit is larger than the pictures make it seem with tons of closet space for equipment. I was part of a group of six guys and we had plenty of room. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need to make a large meal - we did everyday and used the gas grill on the deck as well. The place was spotless when we arrived and the daily maid service was a bonus. The location couldn't have been better (3 blocks to grocery store, gondola, & restaurants, but still nicely secluded on a cul de sac). The views are awesome and the outdoor pool and jacuzzi were perfect in January. James himself was a great host (even though he wasn't actually there) and offered restaurant recommendations and snow reports before our arrival. He was always quick to get back to me with any questions I had. The snow was perfect and made for great skiing, but that was in mother nature's control. I always think that your accommodation can make or break a vacation. Staying here definitely made the trip a great one for us!

Although the pictures of this home are accurate, the nuances and little touches found throughout made our stay perfect. Beautifully appointed and well equipped, we felt at home from the moment we arrived. From the beautiful views of the slopes and the town, to the relaxing hot tubs following great days of skiing, our Aspen home away from home accommodated 6 adults with plenty of room for all. We even had room for Santa who arrived for a belated holiday celebration with a sled full of gifts! If you are looking for a great place to celebrate family, friends and Colorado - this is it! Thanks to the owners for opening their home.

Our family dearly loved our time in this condo. We walked to the store, shopping, and dining. The unit was updated, clean and perfect for our time in Aspen. The owner was wonderful to work with and we were very satisfied with the representation of the condo and the accommedations. We did quite a bit of biking and the owner was helpful in suggesting places to go for the whole family. We found it easy to navigate to other towns and the resteraunts were all fantastic. We would definitely rent this unit again on a return trip to Aspen. Our stay was in early August and the weather was perfect!

We stayed in this condo for 8 nights in mid-July with our 3 kids. We dont think you will find a nicer condo or location in Aspen. It is obvious that the owners take a great deal of pride in this property. We loved the daily maid service and all the great tips from the owenr, James. We can't wait to come back!

My wife and I spent 3 nights in Aspen (in July) with our 1 and 3 year old children, and had a wonderful time. We've never met a more cooperative and helpful condo owner. Prime location, great floorplan, daily housekeeping (by Abi, a sweet, sweet woman), incredible views, even a large swimming pool facility. And Aspen in the summer is tough to beat!

Great 3 Bedroom condo, comfortable enough for 6 adults. Short walk to Ajax mountain and bus terminal to other mountains. The condo was well equiped with everything needed in the kitchen and bathrooms, the LCD TVs in each bedroom and the living room were great! The view was breathtaking. The daily maid and towel service was a great perk as well. We chose to eat in 3 out of 5 nights during our stay. I would definately stay here again and recommend to others!

6 adult skiers from Chicago, IL ventured to Aspen to ski all 3 big mountains for four days of skiing. We rented this condo for 5 nights and had a blast. The condo is amazingly equipped and we were able to and wanted to grill two nights during our stay. Very conveniently located to the town of Aspen, Ruby Park, and the Grocery store. The owners were great to work with and we felt at home during our stay. No disappointments. I definitely would stay here again and would recommend others to stay here as well!!
