If you plan on visiting the wineries during your stay, Hacienda Sonoma is in the best location possible! We're in the heart of the Sonoma Valley Wine Region within walking distance to many wineries, located less than two blocks from Highway 12, in a quiet residential setting that's close to everything!
Our home was built in 2008 -- professionally designed and beautifully decorated, every detail has been thoughtfully considered with fabulous weekends in mind. We wanted a place where we could cook and entertain friends (lots of them!), golf and spa, where the kids could have a ball, and where we could walk to our favorite wineries and restaurants without having to drive. Great wine and driving don't mix, and with this home, they don't have to.
Our large, professionally equipped kitchen is worthy of a gourmet chef (including two dishwashers to minimize drudgery!). Our giant kitchen island lets everyone hang out in the kitchen with lots of space to spare. Check out the Sonoma Farmers' Market and be inspired! Or, order your groceries online, and Safeway will deliver them right to the kitchen.
Our bocce court, upstairs "pub" (including a 10-foot hand-carved bar, plasma TV, professional-sized pool table, and sound system), two fireplaces, giant kitchen, outdoor dining, and open floor plan creates the perfect environment for entertaining a big group. Dock your own MP3 player in our sound system and play your own playlists throughout the house, or choose from hundreds of XM radio stations. Each room in the house can be individually controlled. Evenings are lots of fun at Hacienda Sonoma!
Every detail of our bedrooms and bathrooms offer luxurious comfort: the king-sized Beautyrest pillow top mattresses and pillows, luxury linens, travertine bathrooms and two-person soaking tubs, make relaxation totally indulgent.

- Queen Bed: A new queen sofa bed is upstairs, just outside the "campfire bedroom." There is a very large bathroom near this location, and it's a great spot for a family who wants their own level in the home.
- Twin/Single Bed (4) : Our fun "campfire room" has three twins (two twin beds with a pull-out trundle underneath one of them). The twin mattresses are high-end quality mattresses, and are comfortable for adults, as well. There is also a pull-out twin downstairs in the family room.
- Child Bed: We have a travel crib (pack 'n play) available for use.
- Convertible Bed (2) : New queen-sized sofa bed upstairs, located near the upstairs bath, and a pull-out twin bed in the family room.

- TV (No Cable/Satellite): There is also a small T.V. in the upstairs "campfire room" with a VCR and baskets full of kids movies. Kids can hook up their game systems to this T.V. very easily.

- Catering Available: There are many personal chefs who will come to the house to cook. The one we recommend most often charges $35 per hour plus the cost of groceries. - Kid Friendly: An outdoor redwood play structure is located at the back of the property, and the kid-friendly "campfire" room is adorable! The camping inspired decor even includes a fake camp fire, camping lanterns, and forest scene. There are two parks within 3 blocks in each direction of the house, a petting zoo at Swede's Feed just two blocks away, and a great babysitter can be recommended upon request! We have kids too, and they love their time in Kenwood.

We're a couple with kids, and we built our custom home in Wine Country to be close to everything we love, and to make our own wine from the zinfandel vineyard on the property. This our dream home, and everyone who stays tells us they have a very hard time leaving it!
Why the Owner Chose Kenwood
Kenwood is the perfect blend of "sophisticated country." The kids have lots to explore outside, there's a rooster who lives a few blocks away, and yet we're surrounded by world-class wineries and great restaurants, all within walking distance. There are incredible state parks nearby, and so many fun activities: golf, spas, hiking, biking, fishing, boating, hot-air ballooning, bi-plane rides... you name it, it's all here.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Many of the larger vacation homes are secluded in the hills, which requires a curvy mountain drive to get to the wineries. Our location is so close to everything great in the area -- there is a whole weekend's worth of wine-tasting within an easy 2-5 block walk of the house. This is the perfect location for families who are coming for a wedding in Wine Country as well --the large home and open floorplan means everyone can hang out together, and no one has to be the "D.D.!" We are extremely close to many of the big wineries with wedding venues.
