Villa Zinfandel is a custom-built property - designed with every detail thoughtfully considered for fabulous vacations. We wanted a place where we could cook and entertain friends, golf and have spa treatments, where the kids could have fun, and where we could walk to our favorite wineries and restaurants without having to drive. Great wine and driving don't mix, and with this home, they don't have to.
Our huge professionally equipped kitchen is worthy of a top chef (including two dishwashers!). Our giant kitchen island means there are never too many cooks or spectators in the kitchen. Check out the Sonoma Farmers' Market and be inspired, or order your groceries online, and Safeway will deliver them right to the kitchen.
Our bocce court, upstairs "pub" (including a 10-foot hand-carved bar, plasma TV, professional-sized pool table, and sound system), two fireplaces, giant kitchen, outdoor dining, and open floor plan creates the perfect environment for entertaining. Dock your own MP3 player in our sound system and play your own playlists throughout the house, or choose from hundreds of XM radio stations. Each room in the house can be individually controlled. Evenings are lots of fun at Villa Zinfandel!
Every detail offers luxurious comfort: the king-sized Beautyrest pillow top mattresses and pillows, luxury linens, travertine bathrooms and two-person soaking tubs, make relaxation totally indulgent. Our large home offers lots of space, but we are limited to 4 overnight guests (not including children under age 3) by the County of Sonoma.

Many of our guests rave about how memorable the evening with the chef was.

- Kid Friendly : An outdoor redwood play structure is located at the back of the property, and the kid-friendly "campfire" room is adorable! The camping inspired decor even includes a fake camp fire, camping lanterns, and forest scene. There are two parks within 3 blocks in each direction of the house, a petting zoo at Swede's Feed just two blocks away, and a great babysitter can be recommended upon request! We have kids too, and they love their time in Kenwood.

We're a couple with two kids, and we built our custom home in Wine Country to be close to everything we love. We always dreamed of making our own wine from the zinfandel vineyard on the property, and learning viticulture from the ground up (literally!). This our dream home, and everyone who stays tells us they have a hard time leaving it to go home! We do too. We've put our hearts and souls into this property, and all of the attention to detail really shows it.
Why the Owner Chose Kenwood
Kenwood is the perfect blend of "sophisticated country." The kids have lots to explore outside, gorgeous rolling vineyards are everywhere, and yet we're surrounded by world-class wineries and great restaurants, all within walking distance. There are incredible state parks nearby, gorgeous hiking and scenery, and so many fun activities: golf, spas, biking, fishing, boating, fine dining, hot-air ballooning, bi-plane rides... you name it, it's all here. The country atmosphere makes you feel like you've "gotten away from it all," and yet, all of the fun stuff is just right around the corner. We're in the middle of wine and food paradise.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Many of the larger vacation homes are secluded in the hills, which requires a curvy mountain drive to get to the wineries. Our location, however, is so close to everything great in the area -- there is more than a whole weekend's worth of wine-tasting within an easy 2-5 block walk of the house. This is the perfect location for families who are coming for a wedding in Wine Country as well --the large home and open floorplan means everyone can hang out together, and no one has to be the "D.D.!" We are extremely close to many of the big wineries with wedding venues.

We so enjoyed our stay at this fantastic home....it was an outstanding experience for five (adults) of us. We thoroughly enjoyed ALL aspects of the home: the bedrooms, baths, enormous kitchen, living areas both indoors and out, laundry, and gardens. The web site and literature in the home are extremely helpful in planning daily activities. We liked the location with the abillity to go to the coast as well as visit all areas of the wine country. The owner was very pleasant and nice to work with. It doesn't get any better than this!!!!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, age 55+.

You will not find a better place to stay in the wine country. The home is beautiful and artfully decorated. We relaxed, walked in the vineyards and were able to entertain guests as if we were in our own home. We will definately be back!

We rented this home with two other couples and had a great time! GREAT location to walk to several tasting rooms upon arrival. We enjoyed all the custom details this beautiful home affords. The owner was very great to deal with and I would recommend this home to enhance your wine country visit! WE WILL BE BACK!

Our group had an incredible time at Hacienda Sonoma! The owners of this home have gone to extraordinary lengths to plan out every little detail. There were three couples and one child in our group, and not only was everything perfectly designed for the "grown-ups" (humongus kitchen with lovely dishes and serving pieces, really nice Cuisinart pots and pans, gorgeous leather furniture, an ELECTRIC wine bottle opener, a beautiful patio with vineyard views, big comfy beds, fresh flowers, and a nice bottle of chardonnay waiting for us on our arrival) but the house was also geared towards keeping the little one in our group entertained. The campfire room is so cool. And big! The play structure outside, all the Disney movies and games there at the house, the "petting zoo" down the street at Swede's Feed (you've got to ask, but they'll take you around back to see their chickens and goats -- and they'll sell you eggs for breakfast!) all of it meant that we could come back again and again to Wine Country with no complaints from anybody. The house is perfect and we never wanted to leave, especially after we got our iPod docked on the sound system, put on some Rat Pack tunes, and settled ourselves on the outside sofa with martinis (yes, the wine came later!). Next time, I'm coming back with a bunch of girlfriends -- the bathrooms are beautiful and very large, and it's one of the few places where all of our curling irons and hair dryers will fit in easily. We had some questions about where to go wine tasting, and the owner was so helpful and allowed us to call her on her cell phone whenever we had a question. Her suggestions were right on, and you can tell she really put some effort into making the whole experience just perfect. The pictures on their website are great, but the experience of being there is even better. THis is one awesome home. Thank you, Hacienda Sonoma, for an incredible place to stay!
