Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2006
I grew up in Northwest Iowa and moved to La Crosse in 1996. Have lived in this neighborhood the entire time. Started Do4U Home & Garden Services in 1996. Opened Bluff View House in 2006, and in 2008, turned my long term rental into a short term rental (The Cottage). The Bluff View House is across the street from me and The Cottage is next door.
Why the Owner Chose La Crosse
This is a GREAT neighborhood! It's less than a block to Kids Coulee in Myrick Park, Myrick/Hixon Eco Park and a 10 minute walk to Hixon Forest. Forest Hills Golf Course is only 4 blocks away and the University of WI-La Crosse is 2 blocks away. A quiet residential neighborhood.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The Bluff View House is so unique! It is called a Lustron House and was made out of 100% steel...no drywall or wood. Only 2498 built after WWII. Many of the the remaining Lustron homes are listed on the National Register.

We stayed in this home in Aug. 2010 and LOVED it! My #1 favorite was being so close to the Kid's Coulee playground since we had our 2 children with us. We walked there daily for the kids to burn off steam. Since the house is made of steel the owner has placed magnetic words on the walls for renters to play with, which my 6yr. old loved doing by himself and with us. The owner also had a lovely vegetable garden and we were told to help ourselves. I would highly recommend this home to anyone and would definately stay there again.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.
