Winter in Summit County:
Summit County ski areas work all summer to improve snow, lifts, lodging and more every ski season. Skiers will love the quick access to Keystone Ski Area, just 6 miles away, as well as the close proximity to Breckenridge Resort, Copper Mountain, Arapahoe Basin ski area (usually open until mid-June), and Vail/Beaver Creek. Spring, Summer, and Fall in Summit County:
Dillon and the rest of Summit County is the place to be summers. Escape the heat of the city, plains, desert, or wherever else you're from. There are food festivals, concerts, golf tournaments, car rallies, etc. every weekend throughout the summer and early fall!
Visitors will enjoy the Alpine Slide at Breckenridge's Peak 8, water-sports (sailing, kayaking, fishing) on Lake Dillon, bicycling or hiking the many paved bike paths and old dirt mining roads throughout the mountains. There is great fly fishing on the many rivers and creeks throughout the county. The Lake Dillon Amphitheater, two blocks away features Sunday Morning Church Services, Free Summer Concerts, Farmer's Markets, and other events. If you like shopping, the Silverthorne Factory Outlets are 2 miles away. Frisco and Breckenridge have many fine Antique Shops and Art Galleries just minutes away.
Summit County has several challenging Golf Courses, including the Jack Nicholas-designed Breckenridge Golf Club, the Robert Trent Jones-designed Keystone Ranch Golf Course, and the Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks. There are few places more beautiful to golf in the world. The Vail/Beaver Creek golf courses are less than 45 minutes away as well.
Dillon:
Dillon is a quaint little town with a number of Shops and Restaurants. Everything in town is within easy walking distance, including the local Theater, Bowling Alley, Thrift Shops, and Post Office, and city park with basketball, softball, and bocce ball.
This is my personal getaway and I know you will love it as much as I do. I have over 60 positive reviews in my online guest book and dozens more in the guest book in the condo. I've been coming to Dillon and Summit County since I was a child, before Lake Dillon was created. I never get tired of the wide variety of activities the county offers visitors year-round. Several of the older buildings in town were moved uphill to their current locations when the lake was being created. They provide an interesting glimpse into Colorado History. More can be learned at the History Museum a block from the condo.
Miscellaneous Information:
Please, NO PETS and NO SMOKING allowed inside the condo OR on the balcony. These are Lodge at Lake Dillon Rules. I've also worked hard to keep it Hypoallergenic to avoid health issues for all our guests.
This 800 square foot (22.65 square meters) condo can easily accommodate four guests but occasionally someone will inquire about allowing additional guests. One additional child can sleep on the sofa, but it's not a pull-out and there isn't room for an inflatable bed on the floor. There is a small fee for an additional person and we need to know in advance so we can set out towels and bedding for them.
No cancellations within 30 days; if more than 30 days in advance, refunded only if re-booked. We urge guests to purchase travel insurance in case your travel plans change. I personally use it and highly recommend it to others.

I cleverly planned my getaway to Dillon, CO when the fall colors were at their peak because I couldn’t miss another autumn in the Rocky Mountains! The drive up from Denver took about an hour, but I was already feeling more relaxed by the time I arrived at the Lodge at Lake Dillon. It was easy to find and the location couldn’t be more perfect. Surrounded by majestic mountains, it was nestled on a bluff over beautiful Lake Dillon and within walking distance of coffee shops, locally-owned restaurants and the grocery store.
It instantly felt like a private mountain lodge the minute I walked in the condo. I could tell that a lot of effort went into making this unit special and welcoming. After I took in the stunning view of the lake and mountains from both the living area and the second bedroom, I appreciated the condo’s other thoughtful touches. I loved the wooden stools, doors, and cabinets which gave the condo a cozy, rustic mountain feel. The wood flooring, bedroom carpeting, and the kitchen granite countertops were in excellent condition. The spacious tiled shower, fluffy towels and pretty candle sconces on the walls added to the overall comfort of this home.
The kitchen was stocked with every utensil a cook could ever need. Even the pantry covered the basics I had forgotten like coffee and olive oil. After a quick trip to the market, I was ready to make several home-cooked meals in the well-equipped kitchen.
I thoroughly enjoyed the brisk and colorful bike ride around Lake Dillon. I really fell in love with Dillon and the friendly people who smiled and waved as we passed each other on the family-friendly bike path. Before long, I was ready to head back to the condo and relax with a book in the comfy leather chair in front of a roaring fire. And when it was time to call it a night; I could have easily hibernated all winter in the bed’s luxuriously soft sheets!
Who says you have to drive hours west for a true mountain experience? My trip to Dillon was everything I could have asked for and more. Plus, I didn’t even use a whole tank of gas! We will definitely be visiting again soon. The snow was falling as we checked out and this bear can’t wait to pack a snowboard for his next visit to Dillon, CO!

Luxury 2BR Condo with Great Views of Lake Dillon and Keystone
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Lodge at Lake Dillon
I've been visiting Summit County since I was a child, before Lake Dillon was created. My dad and I used to fish the Blue River, one of the three rivers that now flow into the lake.
I had looked for a condo for two years and instantly fell in love with this unit when I walked through the front door. I love being able to get away from the city and into the mountains quickly. The Lodge at Lake Dillon has a great location overlooking the lake and Keystone Resort. Dillon has a small town feel and is centrally located to the many nearby activities.
I spent quite a bit of time up there, making sure it's in top condition. I regularly change the quilts and other decorator items, as well as updating the video collection and books. I just added a new ceiling fan in the living room as well as a new padded living storage box which doubles as a large footrest.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
There's nothing like an early morning cup of coffee on the patio overlooking the lake. Many times I am able to watch hawks or eagles soaring or sitting in the trees below. Sometimes I hear coyotes on the mountains across the lake.
I really enjoy walking two blocks down the street to the Arapahoe Cafe for breakfast - the best in the county. I ate there as a kid, before the building was moved to its present position, from what is now the bottom of the lake.
The Lodge is directly across the street from the Free Summit Stage stop which takes guests all over the county. It's also within a block of downtown where the many Summer Festivals are held.
The Dillon Marina and Pug's Tiki Bar are steps away, down the bike path from the Lodge.
City Market (largest grocery store in Summit County), Sports Authority (ski rentals, fishing licenses), Bed, Bath & Beyond, 8-screen Theater (Trans-Lux Skyline Cinema), Border's Books and Music Cafe.

149 Tenderfoot Ave, four blocks from condo. Very good New Jersey style pizza.
842 Summit Blvd Frisco, CO 80424 (970) 668-2000 Great food! Located in a strip mall, it lacks ambiance but makes up for it in quality and a menu you won't find elsewhere in Summit County.
740 N Summit Blvd Excellent Mexican food, across the lake in Frisco. Worth the 15 minute drive. I've never had a bad meal there and the service is friendly.
857 N Summit Blvd Best BBQ in Summit County. Don't let the plain exterior deter you! Q4U has been serving BBQ since the '70s.
104 Village Pl, one block from the condo. Large selection of videos for rent. I have a discount account there for guests. Ask for details.
324 Dillon Ridge Way - by the City Market Grocery Store. I had to include this for the Starbucks addicts out there! There are a LOT of Starbucks in Summit County but this one is the closest.

I live in metro Denver, about 80 miles from Summit County. I've lived in Colorado much of my life and can't imagine living anywhere else full-time. The weather, scenery, activities, and sports combine to make it a wonderful place to live.
I've been in the travel industry for most of my career with travel agencies and airlines and have managed reservation and frequent flier systems for several large domestic and international airlines. I've traveled to over 55 countries and am a big fan of vacation rentals. In addition to staying in mine, I've enjoyed VRBO homes in Beijing, Nicaragua, London, Paris, Hawaii, St Thomas, Barbados, Normandy, and others. I really enjoy meeting other owners that also have a passion for the industry.
Feel free to contact me to get information about my Lodge at Lake Dillon Condo, local activities, or anything else pertaining to Summit County or Colorado travel and tourism.

We absolutely loved our 3 night stay at this beautiful condo. It snowed the entire weekend and the warmth inside and beauty outside made for a memorable stay and one we want to repeat . The unit had everything we needed and a fully appointed kitchen. The unit was very clean and the Lodge was a lovely retreat with friendly neighbors. We would highly recommend this condo but would prefer to keep it our secret! The restaurants in the area are wonderful when we weren't enjoying cooking in the beautiful kitchen.
Owner response:Thanks much for your nice review. We've had a LOT of snow up there this winter with a lot more to come! We look forward to your coming back again and again.

Been renting for annual ski trip for 14 yrs. and this is one of, if not the best 2 bdrm place we've ever had. Very clean; no, immaculate. Well appointed w/ what appears to be relatively new furnishings of superior quality and tastefully outfitted. Although on 2nd floor, bldg has an easy to reach elevator. Also, bldg is concrete construction so no noise from adjoining units, including below or above floors. Has everything you need, including pre-provisioned soaps/shampoo, paper towels, tissue, spices/oil/vinegar/flour/sugar et.al., not to mention the little touches like writing pads, scissors, and a City Market card for grocery discounts! You get the picture. Convenient location w/ easy walk to local pubs/restaurants (Pug Ryans, Arapahoe); great view of Lake Dillon. Nicely laid out with 2 queens and 2 baths. New A/V with well stocked DVD's. Marvin, the owner, has done a great job, offers a terrific property with tremendous attention to detail and comfort of his guests obviously in mind. Can't say enough positive things about the place! As MacArthur said: "I shall return."
Owner response:Thanks, Harry for the great review. We're glad you guys had an excellent time and got a lot of new snow. We're expecting more this week. Let us know when you're ready to return!

This place was really great. The owner was very on the ball with setting everything up for us - as we spent more time in the place, we felt more and more like the owner had thought of every little thing to make our stay conenient and enjoyable. This truly is a lovely place. Everything was extremely clean and well-maintained. The views are spectacular, especially out of one of the two bedrooms.
Owner response:Thanks, Daniel for your great comments. We're glad you had a good time and we look forward to you coming back!

My husband and I and another couple stayed at this condo and were absolutely impressed. It is close to everything you might need: grocery stores, restaurants, quaint little shops, skiing, tubing, and the list goes on! We will definitely stay here again in the future. The condo itself was immaculate and made me feel as comfortable as I would feel at home; and that says a lot, as I am quite particular about these things. Beautiful view from the second bedroom and living area. Can't wait to come back!
Owner response:Thanks, Kelly. We're so glad you loved the condo and we would love to have you all come back. Every time I go up I immediately open all the blinds and curtains and just gaze out at the incredible view!

We just returned from a 4-night stay at this wonderful condo. It is conveniently located to restaurants, shopping, the lake, and has fantastic views. Fall is a wonderful time to spend here and enjoy the changing colors. We were fortunate to catch the last farmer's market of the season, just a short walk from the condo. The accomodations are outstanding- it seems Marvin thought of just about everything and those small touches really made our stay that much more enjoyable. The building itself was very quiet- it felt like we were the only ones there, even though we knew there were people in the adjoining units! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, but next time, we'll bring our bikes and enjoy the bike path.
Owner response:Thanks for your review, Carla. We're glad you had a great time. I'm looking forward to my time up there this week. I also love the fall in Dillon!

We were able to book this condo last minute and was well worth the rate paid. We didn't do much in Dillon. We did a day trip to Georgetown, Breckenridge, Fairplay (South Park City). We enjoyed brousing thru all the small historic areas of these towns. We did not spend any time in Breckenridge. It was a beautiful drive on Hwy 284 around to Denver. We found it a little difficult to find the instructions on how to get into the condo and pool and hot tub info. I didn't feel like instructions were organized as well as they could have been. It would have been helpful if info would have be in order, ex, directions, access to building and condo, info about the condo, etc. or an outline of various instructions. Other than that, we had no problems. You have a lovely place and it was very well equipped. We would recommend it to others and if we are ever in that area, would stay again.
Owner response:Thanks, Teddie, we appreciate your feedback. Yes, Dillon is a great center point for all the activities in Summit and surrounding counties. We keep a wide selection of Colorado guide books in the condo to help explore the area. As far as the check-in information we sent out, we handled it the same as we do with all our guests. Yours happened to be a last minute booking which we're happy to do when we have the availability. We received your initial inquiry by phone less than 24 hours before your desired check-in so we quickly verified with our housekeeper that the condo was clean and ready to go, then once your payment was received we immediately e-mailed to you our instruction packet and your access code. The instruction packet is thorough and contains our phone numbers, building photo and address, directions from Denver, GPS coordinates, parking instructions, front door code, and customizable condo door code. There were also instructions for the hot tub, WiFi, and safe. Perhaps you were not able to retrieve the information we sent as you were already en-route to the condo. Since neither of us heard from you for additional instructions or questions we believed all was well and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you felt. We're always looking to improve our rental process, and would appreciate a note from you describing what would have made your receipt of the information more efficient and complete. Thanks again for your comments! We're glad you had a great time in the condo and enjoyed the beauty of the Colorado mountains.

What a great place to stay while visiting Summit County, Colorado. A great location with ease of access to Keystone, Copper Mountain, and Vail. The view of the lake is spectacular. A home away from home, as the condo is fully stocked with everything mentioned in the listing plus more. While grilling out on the grill that is provided, we discovered a wonder seasoning for our steaks that was in the cabinet! Booking this condo was easy. Our daughter and son-in-law stayed with us. My son-in-law took a business card to pass on to his parents. I highly recommend staying at the Lodge at Lake Dillon and will let my friends know. We enjoyed hiking several trails in Summit County and of course eating! We liked The Mint in Silverthorne, Up the Creek in Vail, and for desert, Pepi's in Vail. We enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen at the condo too.
Owner response:Thanks for the great review. I'm glad you enjoyed your time at the condo. I will have to try The Mint; I've never been there! Contact us again for the 'wonder seasoning' info...grin. Marvin

My family stayed at this property in late June 2011. The property was immaculately clean, had all the amenities’ we could ask for and plenty of room for our family of four. Having a fully stocked kitchen with spices and cooking oils was very nice. We enjoyed the balcony view of Lake Dillon and watching the Magpies squawking at a fox along the shore every morning. Thank you for sharing your beautiful condominium.
Owner response:Thanks for your comments! I'm glad you enjoyed the condo and the stunning view! I just returned from the 4th of July weekend in Dillon with friends. We saw fireworks in Dillon, Avon/Vail, Keystone, and Frisco over the long weekend! I took up new bedspreads, bed sheets, pillows, and patio furniture (oh, and more spices!). We hope you'll come back again in the near future.

This Condo was absolutely fantastic. The amenities, location and view of the lake were all tremendous. We returned from Australia to Colorado after living in Fort Collins many years ago. We were thrilled to revisit the areas we once knew so well. To stay in such a wonderfully maintained Condo capped off our vacation. We look forward to returning sometime in the future.
