This is our new Ocracoke home, and it has been built with exceptional care and attention to detail and with as many 'green' features as possible. Everything is energy star rated, toilets and showers are ‘water sense’ rated, internal finishes have been chosen with environmental responsibility in mind. We have chosen to include a feature wall of washed wood in the dining and living areas and unique touches that make it our home, with a modern aesthetic that bring coastal living up to the minute! We have a hardwood bamboo floor which looks great!. As in our old house, we made sure the windows made the most of the light and warmth, privacy and ambience.
The layout provides 3 large bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, an open plan living/kitchen/dining area...and then a bonus of another living room/family room with a kitchenette. Outside has plenty of decks for wonderful sunsets and a very large screened porch with a family size table and chairs which is a delightful place to eat in the summer evenings, and a luxury spa shower area.
The house is in a quiet location but close to everything, a truly wonderful home.
The house is WiFi and has ipod dock stereo and 3 HD flat screen TV's.
A kayak is provided with the house, which you use at your own risk.

We were the first to rent this new home. Construction was completed just before we arrived so everything was perfect. We found Ocracoke charming and very quiet. Very easy to get around as the village is quite small. No real need for a car. Rent a bike or walk. One can hear the surf at night if the windows are open. The house has lots of deck space to sit outside. Mornings are punctuated by roosters crowing and it is not unusual to see chickens crossing the narrow roads. Off all of the houses we saw for rent there I think this one is among the best and for sure the newest.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners.

We had family over from London and we all enjoyed this house very much. It's well laid out, bright, clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was the first rental I've been in that had a decent knife...needless to say the kitchen was well equipped. I've stayed in 4 different places on Ocracoke and this was my favorite location. I really like that the house is quiet and feels secluded, yet so close to all the action. We felt very well taken care of and the owners are very professional and accommodating. We all spoke about returning, even family from London want to make the long trip back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house was perfect for our family of seven. Our dogs were made welcome and so were we. Its a well equiped house with big screen tv which we all loved and the floors were perfect for easy clean up. Kitchen well stocked and lots of outdoor living space for sunny days. We were so happy with our choice and had no complaints.Our Ocracoke vacation was enhanced by our wonderful living conditions.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Wonderful house, wonderful vacation and exceptionally helpful owners. We spent our family reunion on Ocracoke Aug 6 -12 2011 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves including our 93yr old grandma. Our family traveled from PA, VA, MD, NY and OK and rented 3 different homes. Ours was by far the best. The house had all the amenities you could possibly need. Being a Brit I do enjoy my cup of tea in the morning and did bring along my own electric kettle as I wasn't sure there would be one, my mother-in-law also enjoys a cuppa and packed her kettle. It turned out that the house had its own and we laughed at the idea that we had 3 kettles to make tea. The house was very clean and well maintained. Would love to make another trip to the island. Thank you Tony & Jules.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: We moved from England to North Carolina to work at ECU in 2001. As soon as we found Ocracoke we moved so our son could attend the school and enjoy the many freedoms Ocracoke offers..and the surf! It has been the most wonderful 'home from home'. Now our son has graduated we are enjoying spending time exploring different places...but when we return to Ocracoke it rejuvenates us like no other place and always feels like home!

The Unique Benefits at this House:
No-one overlooks you, the house has great space, the light and decks are a great asset. The huge windows frame the sunset skies. It has two bedrooms on the first floor level, with the third bedroom and sitting area being up/down a few steps so it an excellent space for those who would rather avoid difficult to access homes.
