CONDO IS GREAT--AREA IS NOT

Condo itself is beautiful & sparkling clean, stays cool & sitting on the porch watching the ocean was delightful as we contemplated our snowy winter back home..Christina was wonderful coming to the rescue when Tropic Air did not show our prepaid flight reservations although booking agent Sari thru SS Solutions said she had made them..We had to pay again & got the refund credited to our card after more than 1 request.The neighborhood around the condo was not the "PicturePerfect" area as described I expected. The condo is the only nice looking place in this area..but even the town itself pretty poverty stricken. You can go to a resort for a better version of a beach but the sea grass was even too thick there for us to feel comfortable walking in..we saw 2 big stingrays resting there..locals were friendlly and we enjoyed some great meals, the bakery was wonderful but the area is just too 3rd world..go on You Tube and look around..I wish I had .Cant beat the view tho..description of PICTURE PERFECT should describe the ocean view only..5 stars for the property

The agent is very attentive when booking this condo. Everything ran very smoothly for deposit and final payment. Upon arrival, we were met by Christina to obtain the keys and get the "low down" on the condo. The condo is very well maintained, as is the entire complex. We were familiar with Oasis del Caribe because we have friends that live there and had visited them during other trips to San Pedro. The pictures are accurate except for the fact that you don't get the view from the master bedroom because the hurricane shutters are closed and locked. We asked for them to be opened and were told that they don't have a key and it is better if they stay closed for "security reasons". Also, the amenities list a washer and dryer but there's a door blocking them with a lock on it. We asked Christina to unlock it and she explained that they were not included with the rental. After we explained to her that the listing had included them and that was one of the reasons we rented the unit, she did have housekeeping come and unlock it very quickly so we were able to wash our things. Regardless of those 2 items, this is a nice unit to stay in and it is in a great area.

Owner response:We are happy to hear the washer and dryer issue was resolved. We will be leaving it open for all future guests, not just for the long term guests. Sorry to hear the shutter was locked, we always enjoy the view from there. We are replacing the frozen lock and it will be in working order. Thank you for your feedback.

We have decided to write this review even though we still have time left at this wonderful place. I wanted anyone reading this to know that this was not written as one of those quick comments at the end of a holiday. This condo is well appointed and was clean and well taken care of. We have wanted for nothing. When it says walking distance to everything they mean it. The local beer which is Belikin is always cold and you can have it, water, pop and ice delivered right to your door. The photos on this listing were bang on. The local restaurants (large and road side stands) are great. There are many different stores to purchase your products at and if you are the type to want name brands there is the Island Supermarket where you can get all that stuff. The Condo here is a mix of residents and rentals. The residents we have met made us feel at home and part of this community. The locals are great. Leo, who keeps this place looking so nice, is very friendly. When we were booking the agent was quick to answer our many questions and to provide us with some helpful hints on the area. He also arrived on our check in day to ensure we had what we needed. Along with him was Christina who greeted us and gave us a tour of the condo and went over anything we might need to know. If you are thinking about renting, do it you will not be sorry.

We really enjoyed our stay in this condo-great location and beautiful views. Everything was clean and worked well- we would rent here again. To take this condo from great to excellent would be so easy. The furnishings are sparse and decor is lacking- it would be so nice to have a coffee table, a reading lamp in the living room, bedside tables and lamps on both sides of the beds. Blinds on the windows, particularly with the ground floor location would be great.That along with some tropical colors and artwork would really make all the difference. I would love to decorate a condo like this one! It could be so appealing!

We stayed during Christmas this year and it was everything described, and more! The location was excellent; close enough to all the action, but far enough away to be quiet at night. The beds were comfy, the water hot, and the air conditioning cold! My only suggestion would be to stock the kitchen a little better (a few staples such as salt & pepper and a wine opener would have been optimum). Christina & Penny were very helpful but definitely gave us our privacy as well. Highly recommend this condo!
