This beautiful mountain retreat offers the best of the Taos Mountains: Secluded and private but minutes away from some of the best skiing, boarding, mountain biking, white water rafting, hiking, and fly fishing in the country!! This home has flexible sleeping areas, perfect for big families or groups. You are in the heart of the mountains but only a 5 minute drive to Taos Ski Valley and a 20 minute drive to historic downtown Taos.
The "Hermitage" is beautifully appointed with three bedrooms, two baths, sleeping loft, as well as a TV/bedroom and open kitchen and living area with a wood burning stove. The living room offers another sofa/bed. The kids will be delighted that there is a small hill and plenty of room to make snowmen or do a little sledding in winter. The large dining table ensure all can be seated for family dinners.
Summers are magical on the large wrap around deck overlooking the stream fed private pond. BBQ and enjoy dining with views of the mountains. Since the home is surrounded by National Forest land, the Hermitage offers a peaceful all season retreat that can't be beat.
On the main level a queen bed in the master bedroom adjoins a shared bath. There is a TV room with a queen sofa bed that can be closed off to make another bedroom. Upstairs there is a second bedroom with a single bed and a third bedroom with two single beds. The sleeping loft has four single beds and shares a full bath with tub/shower facilities.
A 5 minute drive takes you to the world famous winter playland of Taos Ski Valley where fantastic mountain scenery, dry powder, superb skiing and boarding, as well as over 300 days of sunshine makes this one of best resorts in the ski world.
But there is plenty of fun for non-skiers and boarders such as snowmobiling and snowshoeing in the mountains and shopping, dining, art galleries and more in the historic town of Taos and Taos Pueblo. The summer offers a special beauty with wildflowers abloom, waterfalls, high mountain scenery and lots to do!! Try jeeping, hiking, mountain biking, white water rafting, fishing, summer concerts, wine tastings and more!

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
This is a private and secluded cabin with the unique amenity of being both near the ski valley and closer to town than the in-valley locations. You will not be disturbed by neighbors. It is one of the few cabins with two full baths and is easily accessible year around. We have local management to take care of any needs.

My family has owned this cabin for almost 30 years. We grew up in Albuquerque and used the cabin as a great weekend getaway. My brother and I spent countless days skiing, hiking and fishing in the mountains and it holds many of my best memories. Taos has a unique character that brings us back, even though we have now moved to Seattle and Denver. We hope to share this special place with others and hope it makes great memories for your family as well.
