Welcome! As our guests at Pelican villa, you are guests of the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, which rates Pelican a “PREMIER PROPERTY”. Our guests have full access to the resort’s famous amenities, including free enjoyment of resort SWIMMING POOLS; DISCOUNTS and PRIORITY BOOKING on golf, tennis, dining, bicycle rentals, or recreational programs; and complimentary door-to-door, on-island shuttle transportation.

Pelican is an ideal year-round destination for a vacationing family, or for adults seeking a waterside, low country retreat. Built on beautiful Night Heron Pond, with southeast exposure over the water, Pelican’s light and airy 1400-square-feet of living space are arranged on two levels, with FULL WATER VIEWS from all common areas, and from two of the three bedrooms.

Pelican is professionally decorated in harmony with its tranquil lakefront setting, and is furnished throughout with substantial furniture, art, and custom window treatments. Each of Pelican’s three bedrooms has cable television and a custom, en suite bathroom. The master bathroom features a large “garden tub” for a spa day at home. Cabinets are stocked with complete china, flatware, and barware. WiFi keeps you in touch with home or business. Choose from shelves of books for a relaxing day, perhaps in a lounge chair on the dock or in a rocking chair on the screened porch.

Pelican has been EXTENSIVELY REMODELED ($150K in the 2008 phase alone), and is continuously updated for comfort, convenience, and decor. Pelican’s state-of-the-art “Carrier Infinity” HVAC system, along with insulated sunny-side windows and paddle fans in all bedrooms, provides a perfect indoor climate. Pelican’s reconfigured kitchen is equipped for serious cooking and for gathering. For a finished appearance and to maximize floor space, the stainless refrigerator is recessed into the wall, and the washer and dryer are subtly contained in a double-door laundry closet. A large finished closet for bulky items, such as golf bags, beach chairs, or luggage, is conveniently located in Pelican’s first-floor entry hall.

Pelican is a FIVE-MINUTE STROLL to Kiawah’s 10-mile ATLANTIC OCEAN BEACH, or to the SWIMMING POOL, Nature Center, and grand-oak shaded spaces of NIGHT HERON PARK. For sightseeing and aerobic activity, tour maritime forest, marsh, river, and dunes by bicycle on Kiawah’s packed-sand beach and on 30+ miles of paved bicycle trails. For peaceful inactivity, observe herons, cormorants, turtles, leaping fish, and alligators from Pelican’s dock without leaving home. The Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s COMPLIMENTARY ON-ISLAND SHUTTLE TRANSPORTATION will take you to golf courses, dining venues, shopping, or wherever you wish to go on Kiawah without a car. Why the Owner Chose Parkside

We chose Kiawah's clean, wide beach for our young children's safe enjoyment. We learned that a Kiawah vacation is much more than a beach vacation! We enjoyed the amenities and family recreational programs of the Kiawah Island Golf Resort. We appreciated the island’s dedication to environmental protection, and the excellent, educational activities offered by The Nature Center. As summers on Kiawah became our family tradition, our kids learned to walk, swim, ride bikes, play tennis and golf, fish and crab, and kayak on Kiawah. They, and we, also learned how to relax on quiet afternoons in nature and evenings under the stars.

Pelican's light-filled living area is a wonderful gathering space, while the three, very private bedroom suites offer quiet and solitude when desired. From Pelican’s convenient resort location, everyone in the family can access golf, tennis, beach, pool, or business center on his or her own schedule, without having to coordinate for use of the family car. Pelican is the perfect vacation retreat for our active, multi-generational family, but Pelican is also extremely cozy and romantic for a quick break on our own.

Having first visited Kiawah in the 1970's, I have watched our island evolve from a semi-tropical, maritime "jungle" into a manicured resort, still dedicated to protecting our unique lowcountry environment.
