Alfama is atmospheric, the apartment has a great view and is quite spacious. The decor is unique and funky. One bathroom smelled a bit, the stairs were quite steep but doable for fit folks in their 60's, and some beds were hard. The facilities for cooking and relaxing after a busy day of touring greatly enhanced our trip. I would recommend it to others with the caveat that there is lots of climbing up to the street and then up to the apartment.

Beautiful view over the rooftops and the River Tejus - and the place itself was just like the photos, super comfy, beautiful interior. We weren't disappointed! When we arrived, someone from Traveling to Lisbon met us at the flat and showed us what's what and offered us a bottle of rose. We settled in and then went out to explore the neighborhood. It was peaceful and quiet with a few cafes and restaurants, our favorite being Canta Da Vila Bistro owned by sweet Vinny from Brazil.

We stayed in the apartment for 3 nights in September, everything was ok with it. Very beautiful view from the window. Location was also was very good because we chose alfama deliberately. Two minuses - the agent who was supposed to meet us there with a key was late for approx. an hour and we had to sit on the street with our luggage waiting for him. Another minus of the apartment - it has a very-very steep stairs to get to it. Do not even try to climb it without holding hand-rails!

It's hidden away on a "walk street" (i.e. no cars) so once you find it and get your luggage down and up the many stairs, you shouldn't get lost again. The location in the alfama is within a short walk to many Lisbon attractions and public transportation. Mario checked us into the unit and spent a lot of time orienting us to the apartment and the city. He gets an a. The apartment is roomy and comfortable ... accommodated the five of us comfortably. Yes, you will bump your head on some of the low angles of the ceiling, but "so what?" My only warning would be those who cannot navigate numerous steps.

This place is great and highly recommended. The top level gets cramped as it is a glorified attic but there is a lot of space. Be wary of the transportation offered, however, as it is substantially overpriced.

Myself and 4 others, all of us young early twentysomethings, took a trip to lisbon for 3 nights. I'd heard lisbon has amazing hostels, but the value on this place was too good to pass up. Cool style, perfect location, super comfortable, and so much space. The view is the same view that most of the Miradores in alfalma have. I'm someone who always does an obsessive amount of research, and I can tell you this is easily the best deal I've ever had.

Everything about the location, decor and design of the appartment was fantastic, just as described and as shown on the pictures. The only problem was that we were there in January and it was a very cold January. So the appartment was very cold, with no central heating system installed. The fan type heater was just too small to heat the place. Good thing that winter is almost over.

We were 6 female friends who stayed in Lissabon during a long week-end. All of us were very pleased with the location, cleaning...etc. We only gave 4 stars for the comfort because there was a light smell of damp in the house. I would without doubt recommend both the renting company and the appartement to my friends.

Fantastic location and the flat was out of this world. The view was stunning and everything about the flat was high quality. Transport from this location was fantstic - beautiful trams every few minutes. A great city for families. Agent was excellent and really helpful.

We loved our apartment in the alfama. The views were wonderful--over the rest of the alfama and the Tejo River and beyond. The location was central in the alfama and it was easy to get to all parts of the city from there. There were plenty of markets and restaurants within walking distance. The apartment was somewhat quirky--bright colors, interesting art, plenty of low ceilings because of the top floor location--but it was also airy and cool. We had plenty of space despite being six people and enjoyed the use of three bathrooms and a large dining room table. We were sad to leave the views--we especially loved the sunrises over the Tejo!

The flat was really funky, newly refurbished and super clean, fully equipped. Located in a historical part of Lisbon, very close to fado clubs and famous sights. Located uphill, but if you get tired easily, there is a tram stop very close. Not for people with mobility problems though- the flat has lots of very steep stairs and the area around is also very hilly and with lots of steps. Also, the actual little street on which it is located was a bit smelly (a toilet for local dogs pretty much). Luckily the windows were facing a different way and the view was great (to the river). The only drawback we found was that we had to leave luggage somewhere after checking out (all lockers at the train station were full) but the office of the company who rents these flats out is a bit out of the way and also in another hilly area.

We have come to visit Lisbon in apartment 120, for one week... Unfortunately, due to the Iceland volcano, we had to stay 4 more days ! But the apartment was very pleasant, the view is great and alfama is a very quiet and beautiful place to stay if you want to stay a few days in Lisbon. Moreover, it is very close to the center town, the tramway, etc.

Great apartment with a superior view. Very close to outstanding Fado. Easy access to the “Street Car” that was fun to ride. Would recommend this unit for family’s with teenagers or two couples. Be aware that there are many stairs to both get to the unit but also to get into the unit, therefore if you’re not comfortable with steep narrow and many stairs perhaps review another unit.

Weare very satisfied about this service. This 120 apartment was in the middle of the Alfama area which not far from the Lisboa center, the view from the apartment was exceptional and there was a small shop downstair which was very useful for those who do not have a car. It is 20m from the international airport, for information. I can only suggest to go there and trust travellingtolisbon agency.

Splendid flat, and a very nice place to start exploring the city. Cozy surroundings, not far to small grocery store, and close to the "tram" 28 which transports you throughtout the city. Also nice view from the balcony, and the flat have all you can want: good space good air - even if the weather is hot and sunny. (Almost like home, IKEA-kitchen and dishwasher). Very steep steps from the street, but after a few times it was ok. Thanks for a nice stay here in Lisbon. We came back, and agree that this was the best place to stay! Obrigado! from cold Norway (Frondheim - Noruega bacalao).

What amazing ztay in a faboulous apartment, and trabeling to Lisbon personnell were very serviceminded!. Located in a very old, nice area, with narrow stair-streets, bakery and bars and restaurants close by. Easy to take the tram to and from the appartment - BUT: The appartment is not be recommended to people who has problems walking hills and steep stairs, and bring only small size suitcases - to enter the apartment you need to climb narrow stairs.

We had a wonderful week in the oldest section of Lisbon in an apartment found through Traveling to Lisbon. The apartment was comfortable and beautifully furnished with views of the Alfama rooftops from all the windows. We'll never stay in a hotel again.

We spent a glorious week in this beautiful apartment, my husband and I, our two teenage children and their friend. We loved cooking our own food, shopping in the places nearby and feeling like we had a home in Alfama. This neighbourhood is gorgeous - the walkways, arches, steeps and views of rooftops and the river. Likewise, the views from this apartment is spectacular at all times of the day and night. This is not my first time in Lisbon, but it is the first time I feel the history and charm of the city. Thank you!
