On a rise that provides a private treehouse - like perch, wrap around lanais ensure a seamless indoor/outdoor experience. You will sleep to the rolling surf of the ocean below, lounge in the sun of an ocean-view terrace or by the pool, yet are within walking distance of International Waikiki, with its myriad shopping and dining opportunities. The owner is a commercial interior designer who has specialized in luxury hospitality design. Thus the house is both luxurious but ever-user-friendly with the inhabitants every need anticipated and well provided for.

In the most centrally located residential Honolulu neighborhood, the villa is steps away from sunny beaches, Tongs surfing area, outdoor concerts at the Honolulu Shell. You can walk a few minutes to tennis courts, an archery range, hike up Diamond Head, or sample the spa and night life at the "W Hotel". A few minutes drive puts you in the central business district or Ala Moana and Kahala Malls. The Outrigger Canoe Club is a quick, few blocks walk.
A chemical free and solar heated pool, with soothing water feature fills an interior courtyard adjacent to a media room on one side and a gourmet kitchen on the other. The unique overlapping of wall-less, high-ceilinged spaces means every space is as enchanting as the next. With living rooms on both levels, the Villa is an idyllic place to gather as a family, for a corporate retreat - or the honeymoon of a dream come true. In addition to sweeping lanais, the entire roof is a beautiful sundeck with spellbinding views of the Pacific Ocean, Diamond Head and Waikiki. The remodel afforded inclusion of all that state of the art electronics has to offer: sonos sound system throughout, 4 flat screen TVs, a 100 inch 1020i HD projection TV. This large screen projection tv, is located in what we call the media room, immediately pool side and includes a Play Station III with multiple controllers for every video game fanatic's endless and full scale entertainment. The large screen raises and lowers remotely so it can be completely removed from view as might be preferred. Video with intercom control of both access gates provides optimal security.
The villa comfortably sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms each with luxuriously appointed bath. Additionally there is a separate studio apartment with a queen bed to sleep 2. Review of the photos will give an idea of the European and north African antiques that abound, chosen within a vernacular of rustic finishes that ensures the home is always welcoming to one and all; never too formal nor perishable. For those who are concerned about being as Green as possible, the house has solar water and pool heat as well as state of the art insulation. There is air conditioning but the house is so well designed with overhangs, electric awnings and maximization of natural ventilation from the ever-present Trade Winds, that one rarely finds the need to resort to the ac.

Why the Owner Chose Diamond HeadThis is one of the best locations on Oahu. central to everything and close to the beach. It was important to me to be so close to the sea so as to be able too hear it clearly, but not to be directly on the ocean. The houses facing the sea on this part of the island are obviously western facing which is extremely bright and hot all day long if one is directly on the ocean not to mention that beaches in Hawaii cannot be private so the public has access to your front yard if your residence is beach front.
