This gorgeous cabin vacation home in the center of the Colorado Rocky Mountains has all the amenities and all of the activities to make your dream vacation come true. The main home is located on a heavily wooded lot with Spruce trees and Aspen groves and has gorgeous views of the Continental Divide. The luxurious kitchen includes all the modern amenities. The living area is decorated with antiques and leather furniture open to the upstairs for a large luxurious feel. There are three full bedrooms - two have queen beds (one queen has a comfy Tempurpedic mattress) and the master bedroom has a king bed and two twin beds. There are two full bathrooms. One is upstairs and one is downstairs.
The home is both kid friendly and pet friendly. We ask that pets be taken with you when you are away or kenneled and that they not be allowed on the furniture. For the kids there is a private park in Indian Mountain with a sledding hill, playground equipment, an 18-hole frisbee golf course, picnic tables, a comfort station, hiking trails, and much more.
Every imaginable activity is within minutes of this home. It is located in Indian Mountain which was a ski resort back in the 1970's so it has it's own hiking and sledding mountain with picnic areas and playgrounds. There is even an old ski lodge that can be used for group gatherings during the day. Indian Mountain is in the process of building another lodge by a Pond Park for use by the homeowners and their guests. The Lost Creek Wilderness area is within 10 minutes of the cabin and has vast hiking and horseback riding trails. Pike National Forest is accessible from Indian Mountain with hunting, 4-wheeling, ATV trails, hiking, biking, etc. World class fishing is available at Jefferson Lake, Tarrayall Reservoir, Lake Antero, Eleven-Mile Reservoir, and Lake George which are all minutes away from the Cabin. Nearby ski resorts include, Breckenridge, Keystone, A-Basin, Copper Mountain, and Monarch. All are within 45 minutes to 1.5 hours form the cabin. Breckenridge is 45 minutes away.
If you are a ghost town or mining town explorer, you are in the right place. Boreas Pass, Guanuella Pass, and Mosquito Pass offer some of the best 4-wheel drive trails and ghost towns in Colorado. Buena Vista, just 45 minutes away is the rafting center of Colorado. If gambling is your hobby, Central City is just over Guanella Pass (about 1.5 hours away). Shopping - just name it. You have antique shops everywhere, outlet malls in Silverthorn, and if you want to go into Denver for shopping and museums, you are less than 2 hours away.
If you can imagine an activity, you can find it in Summit and Park County. They don't call it the "Park" without good reason.

- Cell Phone : Cell service is good at the home. Verizon and AT&T are proven to work. If you have an aircard for internet, it should work at the home.

- Our lot is 35 acres, about 8 acres is trees (Aspen and Pines), the rest is open rolling pasture. The adjecent properties are at least as large and there are 1000's of acres of public lands in walking distance. Explore in spring/summer/fall or play/sled/cross country ski..etc in the winter snow..
- Suitability
- Pet Friendly : This home is pet friendly. We just ask that you take your pet with you when you leave or bring a crate to keep them in while you are away. No pets are allowed on the furniture.
- Kid Friendly : The home is kid friendly but watch the children on the steps. There is a private park for the area that has a sledding hill, playground equipment, an 18-hole frisbee golf course, hiking trails, and restrooms. A new lodge is being built that will have a fishing pond for t his summer.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters : The minimum age limit without a guardian is 25.

Here is a little story about the cabin and South Park.....
"South Park has a way of getting into your system and not letting go. From the first time you come across Kenosha Pass and look out at the open valley you know that it's special. That is what hooked me on it and made me want to be able to spend time there. In 2003 I took on the task of building a cabin and this is what you see listed here on VRBO. I dedicated this house to my father for the skills and ingenuity that he passed onto me. It took me 3 years to finish and finally had time to start enjoying my labor. It has always been my form of stress relief to spend time here and sit back and enjoy the sounds and smells of nature. I would like to welcome you to Black Bear lodge and I sincerely hope you enjoy your stay here. My boyfriend and I used the Black Bear Lodge for a weekend getaway and could not have been happier. We have 2 dogs and they loved the open space. The view from the master bedroom and deck is unbeatable. The amenities were beyond what we would have asked for. For the experience and price we will definitely be back soon. We both highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a getaway!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+.
