I stayed here with another person while taking a Neural Manipulation workshop. Bodywork courses can be intense so comforts of home are much appreciated. This cabin had such a homey feel and was extremely well maintained and I was so happy to find spices in the kitchen to use for cooking! The house is so nice and very nicely decorated. My house mate and I found there was plenty of room and we didn't feel like we were in each other's space at all. It was so close to everything as well - Fairhaven and Bellingham shopping and dining and only minutes from where the class was being held. I recommend Fairhaven for ultimate charm factor :) I enjoyed a 4 mile hike in Stimson Nature Preserve which is right around the corner. It was so nice to get out on a day off in the middle of my training to experience nature. The sunrise on my last day there was spectacular! I am from the East Coast and have never been to the PNW. This was such a wonderful experience that I know I will want to vacation here one day. The owners were great to communicate with while setting up the rental and also during and after my stay. I will return for another course next year and will definitely want to rent this cabin again. Thank you for providing such a wonderful abode.

We wanted an alternative to a hotel for a week-long stay, and this place fit the bill! It's a beautiful house with a great kitchen. The warm living room has a perfect view of Whatcom Lake. We especially liked the four big leather chairs in the living room. And the big front porch provides a nice place to sit in the morning and evening. The place was fantastically clean and the amenities were perfect -- everything you needed in the kitchen, comfortable beds and -- for this tech-needy visitor -- a fast Internet. And the owners were always ready, willing and able to answer questions. We highly recommend this for a couple or a family of four.

I can't say enough good things about our stay in Michael and Terri's cabin. Everything we needed was available to allow for a great stay at the lake. Michael and Terri were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We would definitely recommend the property to friends and family!

The cabin is clean, warm and very charming. The four of us had a great stay while in town for a family wedding. We enjoyed hosting our family for a deck BBQ lunch with a great lake view and smores that night on the lake. The hotel stayers were jealous of our cabin. Would definitely recommend this and hope to return.

There's not a Very Good button, or I would've chosen that. Pros: A really nice little house. A homey place with a lodge-like feel, especially the living room with original wood paneling and nice leather chairs. Kitchen was also a strong point--sharp knives, complete set of dishes/glassware, quality pots and pans. Bedrooms both had comfortable beds--a queen in one, two twins in the other. Bathroom was modern with nice linens. Deck is a great place to hang out/bbq with a view of the lake. On that, the view is quite nice, although wires do cross through it from the deck/living room windows. There is a beach across the road and, although we didn't use it, it looked like a good spot to catch some sun (if you're lucky enough to have it like we did) and relax. Overarching PRO: This place is spotless! No dirt, no dust, no stains, no 'secrets' in the bottom of the fourth drawer or behind the fridge;-) Paint/finishes in excellent shape--no chips, wear, grime, etc. Middle Ground (neither pro nor con, IMO): Location. The house is right on the lake (pro) and away from the bars/restaurants/shopping of Bellingham (pro or con, depending on your take). There's a full service gourmet market ~10 mins away, so you can get whatever you want for dinner, but it also isn't Boundary Bay Brewery in town.... Cons: Only one really, and depending on your sensibilities, it may not be a con at all. Our main downer was the nearby road. The house is above the road and very close to it. Traffic is busy from early morning until well into the evening and the noise and level of 'bustle' was distracting at times. That said, the bedrooms are in the back (and traffic dies down substantially after 10), so no issue with getting good sleep. Still, it wasn't our favorite part. Overall: a great place for a small family or group. Not a place for seclusion and quiet contemplation, but if that's not your thing, then it's darned-near perfect. Enjoy. Last: We went on a whale watch with Island Mariner. A wonderful time--seals, porpoises, and best of all--ORCAS! An awesome experience and highly recommended.

Loved the "cabin" & the pirate beach! I may have been too tired, at our 2 am check-out, to spell thoroughly correctly in the guest book, but we truly & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was so pretty, clean & cozy that I wanted to live there! The yard was lush & green. The lake view & beach access were both equally awesome. The doe & fawn I saw in the morning were so perfectly timed w/ my awakening, I thought the owners may have released them like in Funny Farm. ;) The owners are close, if anything is needed, & will address any questions or concerns very nicely, professionally & quickly. Time your stay in hot weather to fully enjoy the beach, Lake Whatcom & the 2 BBQs, although it would be nice any time of year. The property is just enough out of town to be more private, w/ downtown only 10 minutes away. There are also bus routes very close, if car travel is not available or desired. We hope to come back for another & longer stay!

We had the opportunity to spend our fourth of July weekend here with our two small children. The cabin was perfect and exceeded our expectations (the pictures don't do it any justice). Our two year-old daughter was in heaven at the lake with it's wading area, sandy beach for digging, and fire pit perfect for roasting smores. Michael and Terri were very welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely be back and look forward to our next visit!!

My friend and I stayed at Terri & Michaels cozy home overlooking lake Whatcom. We were there to enjoy the fall colors which were abundant and celebrate my friends birthday. The house is comfortable and well stocked with all the necessities that made our stay extremely enjoyable. We would recommend the house and the great hospitality of the owners to our family and friends. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning again some day.

My then-fiancee and now wife rented the lakehouse for the week leading up to our wedding in Bellingham, and it was the perfect retreat from the hubbub. So nice, in fact, that we cut into the honeymoon and stayed an extra two nights. Everything was very clean, very well-cared for and beautiful, and the private lake access was great. The owners are very responsive. For example, when a busy groom lost the key, they had a new one waiting for him--a lifesaver.
