Truly the view you came for. Enjoy your morning coffee as you gaze out over the Pacific Ocean where the cruise ships arrive and the oceangoing cargo ships depart, lounge throughout the day on the large deck, down by the pool or on the beach with shimmering waves in the background. Then while sipping your favorite refreshment, share the spectacular sunset over the Las Hadas peninsula from the balcony, as the lights of downtown Manzanillo fill the sky. Lull yourself to sleep with the sound of the waves splashing against the sea wall.
The Ocean is a part of your life while staying in our Manzanillo home and is viewed from almost every room.
This 3rd floor penthouse unit is a part of a small complex of only 14 units. The grounds, lawns and pools are meticulously maintained by the live-in managers. Most of the time, there are only a few owners in residence giving you the feel of having a private pool and deck. The complex has several palapas with tables and chairs by the ocean, lounge chairs galore, large beach umbrellas and a beachfront bar with a gas barbeque is available for your use.
Inside the condo you will find all the modern amenities to make your visit and holiday a success. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, dressers, ample closet space, wall safe and a large 3 piece bathroom. Direct sliding door access to the balcony. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds which can be made into a king bed (both types of bedding are supplied), dressers, and large closet. A second large bathroom is right next door. The Living room with 2 walls of sliding glass affords unbelievable beach and ocean views and has a flat screen TV, DVD player, Shaw Choice Satellite TV ( hundreds of Canadian and USA channels and a CD player.
Plus there is a unique privacy curtain which can close off this room and in effect make a third sleeping room. The 2 couches are actually the size of 2 single beds and very comfortable.
The central dining area has a beautiful round glass and wicker dining set which easily seats up to 8. The sideboard holds glassware to meet all your refreshment needs.
The kitchen is very modern , sunny and still allows a view of the ocean. All the cutlery, dinnerware, cooking utensils are included. Coffee pot, blender, toaster, microwave, large fridge and propane stove and oven. There is plenty of cupboard space and a large adjoining storage room with washer and dryer .
The condo has central air conditioning, electric water cooler,various games and a library of paperbacks (honor system - book exchange).
PLUS: the condo is equipped with wireless hi -speed internet. Bring your laptop and can even use it by the pool.
One of the greatest values of this condo is it's location. There is no need for a vehicle; as literally everything you will need, and want is a short walk away. Located on a paved street, a block off the main street, gives you access to everything without the traffic noise . Yet only a 3 minute walk to the largest food store, 5 minutes to Walmart, 8 - 10 minutes to the main mall, and a new casino is only 5 minutes. You have access to many restaurants, night clubs, shops, car rentals within minutes.
Plus when you wish to visit Santiago markets and churches it's a 8-10 minute bus ride for 5 pesos ( 50 cents) or a 5 minute taxi. (in 2010 this cost 30 pesos, 3 dollars).
Although Manzanillo is definitely not a typical tourist-type town; there is a great choice of familiar establishments built to cater to the local Mexican nationals. Starbucks, KFC, Burger King, Office Max, Domino Pizza, to name a few. There are scuba rental and lesson shops, boat rentals, fishing charters, sightseeing and tour companies and enough to keep you busy for a very long time.
We have visited many of the Mexican beach towns; and to us none compare to Manzanillo. As written in one travel/ real estate editorial, 'Manzanillo feels like California 40 years ago'.

- There may not be a better location in all of Manzanillo. Our condo is very centrally located with only a short walk to the main malls, dozens of restaurants, sports activities and sightseeing. As well if beach walking is your thing , try literally miles of almost deserted beaches right in front of the condo. For 3 dollars you can also take a taxi to historic downtown, explore the back streets full of small interesting shops, visit the iguana sanctuary and the main plaza where often there are musicians and dancers. In the other direction a 3 dollar cab ride will take you to the town of Santiago with great body surfing, a sunken ship to snorkel to and more shops and restaurants. It is only 1 hour to the capital city of Colima and 3 hours to Guadalajara. Both these cities are worth the trip for museums, beautiful plazas, shopping and more. We have also taken the back roads in land to small villages where you can find markets with fresh from the fields vegetables and fruits. Enjoy the quiet streets and see the laid back pace of small town Mexico. Just north of Manzanillo you can take day trips by car or bus to Barra de Navidad and Melaque for surfing, seafood restaurants and beautiful sand beaches. These two towns attract many Canadian and American snow birds for the constant temperatures and slow pace of life. Manzanillo has escaped the tourist growth as seen in Puerto Vallarta and thus has a more relaxed and less crowded life. At the same time as a vibrant port city you can find a Walmart, Starbucks and many of the fast food restaurants if you find yourself in need of a 'fix' of back home....moreless

The listing is just as described, only better. The photos accurately describe the condo. The condo, pool, grounds, common areas were well maintained and always clean. The owner answered all of our questions promptly and accurately. I would recommend this property to anyone. The location is perfect--there are many stores, restaurants, bus stops, etc., within two blocks. You do not need a car as taxi's and buses are very inexpensive. There is nothing this property lacks--we especially enjoyed having an extra refrigerator and the washer and dryer. The patio is lovely and views and sunsets superb. We've been renting winters through VRBO for many years and this is the nicest accommodation we have rented. We stayed 2 1/2 months and never needed a thing that wasn't already here. The beds are comfortable. There were very few people here the whole time so we almost always had the pool and deck to ourselves. We never had to use the air conditioning and the fans very rarely; there was almost always a breeze. You might enjoy the open market in Santiago on Saturday and lunch at Juanito's (take the Santiago bus), the open market behind the Catholic Church on Sunday, La Boquita beach and Tanilo's ramada there (take the miramar bus, get off at Club Santiago and take a taxi). We also enjoyed day trips to Colima and Comala (free food with drinks at Grande Don Comalon).

i Mary-Jean: We have enjoyed Our stay at the Condo owned by Craig and Mary-Jean Berke was very nice. The Condo was very clean and comfortable. Everything was very organized. The grounds and Swimming pool was very clean and well kept. The condo was just two blocks away from a big grocery store which was very convenient. We were please to meet Marcel and Donna who stay there every year and were extremely helpfull in translating to the Management our needs. Also was nice to go walking on the beach every morning. All in all we enjoyed our stay there in Manzanillo and would definately rent from the Berke's again........ Don and Deanne San Jose.CA.

Awesome, You can walk to everything you need! There was no one else at the pool area for the entire two weeks. it was like a private oceanfront house.

About the owner: This could be you on the ocean in Manzanillo. Constant 28 degree (85 F) weather, sandy beaches and spectacular sunsets. We just never have a bad day when we are in Manzanillo. Take Spanish lessons, spend countless hours exploring the back streets and small shops, join in to the many local festivals and celebrations. Manzanillo city and the State of Colima are well known as the SAFEST city and state in all of Mexico!!
Why the Owner Chose Manzanillo:
My wife and I grew up on the prairies of Alberta in Western Canada. Albertans tend to vacation in Hawaii, California or Mexico. We started going to Mexico in 1998 and every year became more and more enchanted with the people, the culture, the history and the more laid back life style. In 2000 we discovered Manzanillo and were fortunate to meet many Canadian and American folks who live there full time. After sharing their life experiences and with our explorations we knew this was to be our destination for long term stays. In 2007 we contacted a real estate agent and spend quite a bit of time looking over all areas of the city. We chose this condo as it was a small complex of only 14 units and within walking distance to the main amenities. As well all the other owners are Mexican and about 90% of the time we find ourselves with the pool and beach area to ourselves . it is like a private house! When the other owners do come they welcome us into their festivities and we get to enjoy another culture as participants and not tourists.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Manzanillo offers almost all the amenities of the tourist centres such as Puerto Vallarta or Cancun without the compromises. Traffic is more moderate, restaurants are very reasonable and without line ups. If you prefer not to banter with time share reps then Manzanillo is your kind of town. Cultural events abound and although many are directed at the local population and in Spanish they welcome visitors. The beaches go for miles and a surfside walk is the perfect way to start your day.
