This historical, warm and inviting home, located in downtown McCloud, is one of the original Mill Houses owned by the McCloud River Lumber Company. The Old Mill House reflects McCloud's history from the original wood floors and cabinets to the claw foot bathtub, vintage wallpaper and decor.
The Old Mill House is within walking distance to historic Main Street, and the Dance Hall. A 5 minute drive to the McCloud Falls, World class fly fishing, nature trails and mountain climbing. McCloud is the closest town to the Mt Shasta ski and board park as well as the Mt Shasta nordic center and snowmobile trails.
After that hike, bike ride, or dinner downtown, you will be sure to relax in this charming, nostalgic atmosphere!

The Old Mill House is a charming "40s/50s" house. It was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. McCloud has beautiful walking/hiking areas: Fowler's Campground area and the town of McCloud. Downhill and cross-country skiing are very close although we hit a dry winter time :( We like to eat in Mt. Shasta at the Piemont for dinner and Lilly's for breakfast. We look forward to returning to the Old Mill House.

We had a super time at McCloud and enjoyed the Old Mill House. It was very clean and had everything one would need in it. We enjoyed riding our bikes around town and doing some hiking. The location was perfect for both, and the view of Mt Shasta was beautiful from almost everywhere in town. This is definately a rental that we would return to, but perhaps I should keep that quiet !!

Our 18 year-old daughters first words upon entering the Old Mill House were: "This place is adorable!" My wife felt the same. I couldn't believe how much it reminded me of visiting my Grandparents house in McCloud over 50 years ago. It even had an incinerator in the kitchen (Grandma's incinerator also served as the water heater.) We stayed for a week during an annual family gathering in McCloud and thoroughly enjoyed it. In the past, we had usually camped but after staying at the Old Mill House, my girls do not intend to endure camping again. My computer was the only one that was able to connect to an unlocked wi-fi signal from a neighbors house. The Wi-Fi at the soda fountain was down during our stay but my girls were able to get online after getting a password from a friend. If anything, the house exceeded our expectations. The house was very clean and well-maintained. One of my favorite things to do in the area is to drive up Everitt Memorial Hwy from Mt Shasta city to the tree line to enjoy a sunset.

The Mill House has been a home where we take our best friends and family. It is so relaxing and such an enjoyable time.

Loved our stay @ The Old Mill House. It was the perfect place to come "home" to after a day of skiing on Mt. Shasta. The home is comfortable, clean, and inviting, with great character. The kids loved their room, toys & books. The back yard snow igloo was a huge attraction! The town is a great walking town. The owners were very helpful & sweet. This is a great find, one I want to share but also want to keep to myself!
