Such a quaint place to stay. Brought back many memories from living in the town 40 years ago! Felt right at home, close to stores, park, etc. Perfect for us walkers/bikers types. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

We could not have been more pleased with a rental. Driving up the house was cute, but it looked small. We had 7 in the home with no problem at all. Everyone had plenty of space, and the beds were comfortable. The house had the charm of going to your grandma's for a visit. We had grandchildren with and did not have to worry that they would ruin anything, It was a fun walk to town, and easy proximity to Mt Shasta and a few long hikes. I would highly recommend this house. It was perfect.

We recently stayed at the "Old Mill House" and were excited to see such a beautiful home. The beds were the best. Everything about this place is comfortable and inviting. Beautifully decorated with antiques. Everywhere we looked we saw something interesting. This is by far the best house we have rented in Mccloud. We have been going to McCloud for 10 years. My husband has played in the Fiesta Days for 30 years. We hope to rent this property again next year for Fiesta Days. The only thing we would like to see different would be cable or satellite T.V. to check Sport Center. Sue and Jim Anderson

The house was very comfortable, and had lots of amenities such as a stocked kitchen, board games, and plenty of DVDs. My two young children had a blast at the house. There were plenty of places to explore. We also brought our dog who enjoyed the large yard that was fenced in. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Shasta.

What a charming place. It could not have been better. Everything clean and in working order. Ample spices and other small things to make our stay more comfortable. To be able to drink great tap water is a real treat these days. The location is perfect to us- walkable everywhere. I loved the looseness of the flower garden as well, perfect to go with my morning tea. We arrived in the middle of a heat wave so a couple of window shades in the kitchen nook would be nice to keep out the sun midday. We will return in the future for a longer stay. Thanks so much!

Wonderful home. My family felt as if we were home and did not want the weekend to end. I would recommend this home to anyone staying in McCloud.

Hi, The Old Mill House, is a well equipped stylish neat house in McCoud. Molly was kind and helpful in the process of paying the rent. The lack of heating in the bedrooms is the only thing that made our stay somewhat uncomfortable. The nights were cold and we slept fully dressed and hats on most of the time. We would only rent it in the summer, or if the heating system changed. Sincerely:Erika Mills

Owner response: Thanks for the review. The kerosene monitor located in the living room will keep the bedrooms heated if the doors to the bedrooms are left open, also the wood stove works well to heat the house. I provide free firewood. I also have electric blankets on the beds.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this adorable historic mill house. It was conveniently located within walking distance to downtown shops, restaurants, and a grocery store. The rooms were bright, spacious and clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we loved the cozy breakfast nook with views of the side yard and back deck. We slept in the front room in a comfortable queen sized bed that had a dual control electric blanket for warmth. The entire property was fenced which was wonderful for our dog (plenty of room to play fetch). There was a nice selection of DVD's, books and games, plus a guest binder chock full of information on local attractions and activities. Dog friendly lodging in an outdoor lover's paradise…I couldn't ask for more. If you go, don't miss the 6 mile McCloud River Loop trail that passes by three beautiful waterfalls, or the free snow play area at Bunny Flat on the Everitt Memorial Highway. We had a delicious breakfast at Lily's Restaurant in Mt Shasta City and enjoyed sampling beers at the Mt Shasta Brewing Company in Weed.
