  I rent several vacation homes in ski towns each winter, and this home is one of the best-appointed I have stayed in. Clean, well-maintained, great location, well-appointed for cooking for a large group, with nice furniture and large decks. The owner was a pleasure to work with and I can recommend this home to anyone visiting the Truckee area.

  We had a great time at the house, it is spacious and has high end essentials (fully equipped kitchen, modern laundry room, and game loft). The bedrooms are spacious and can easily accommodate 2 families with plenty of children of all ages. Our kids loves the great bed room downstairs which has 3 beds to sleep together and each of the couples had their own huge master bedroom. The balcony is great and we enjoyed BBQing on it. The yard is flat and was a great location for the young kids to play in the snow. The house is situated relatively high in Truckee (on a flat street so no uphill driveways to tackle) and we had plenty of snow around although there was very little snow in the downtown area. I do have two comments to make which might have cost this house a star: 1. The entertainment system in the main living room has an old TV connected to it and it is quite a shame considering the house has satellite reception and a Sony 5 DVD entertainment system, we stay in the Tahoe area often and are used to modern TVs (where we can hookup our AppleTV and such..). 2. The refrigerator was not working when we got there. It seemed like the agent failed to notice that and we spend 3 days without being able to use it. Darrell, the owner tried his best to fix the issue but was unsuccessful. Darrell surprised us by sending us an apology card containing a refund for portion of the rent (without us asking for anything). I found that to be a very nice way to do business and that is why I still give him 5 stars.

  Owner response: Regrettably the refrigerator that N.F. refers to did in fact die between the time the property manager checked the house and N.F.’s arrival. After learning of the break down, the property manager ran through all the troubleshooting steps and thought she had it working again but sadly her efforts did not work. And by the time N.F. was able to confirm her efforts did not work, the appliance repair outfit we typically use was not able to get out to the house until after their stay had ended. Net result though is that the house has a new refrigerator.

  My family and I enjoyed a fantastic weekend at this house! What a pleasure to arrive after a long drive and be able to park the cars in the garage, then enter to find each room of the house even better than the one before... We loved the huge kitchen and eating area, which opens onto the living room. The kitchen is extremely well kitted out with all the appliances, serving dishes, utensils, etc you might need. It's a short drive from the house to Tahoe Donner ski area where we skied with our young kids. The house itself was great for the kids, they particularly liked the loft area that has some games in it. We would definitely recommend staying here, and we hope to return one day!

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

  Our stay was in end of Dec 2011. Despite the fact that it's a dry season and no snow around the house, our family had a great time staying in this beautiful and spacious house. - newer, spacious, clean,and very well equipped (kitchen, bathrooms, entertainment, books) beautiful house - I like the layout of the house. Never feel crowded and great for noise isolating since we do have 5 kids running around the house. - The loft gaming area is a big hit with the kids. they're always there playing. - friendly owner that is very responsive and helpful - great location in a quiet neighborhood (not on main street), close to Tahoe Donner skiing and the Creek Trout Club House

  We visited Truckee in the middle of December and were glad we booked this house. The house was very clean and nicely kept. Each family had a bedroom (we have young children) and kids had so much fun with more than enough room to run around. We mostly dined in and were happy with how the kitchen was equipped. Those extra linens and snow play gear were extremely helpful. The proximity of the house to Truckee downtown and Northstar made everything so convenient.

  We had a great time staying in your wonderful mountain home in Tahoe Donner. We had a great 4 day reunion with my sister's family and our father. You have a beautiful home and your well stocked kitchen made a few family meals easy to prepare. It was our first time staying in Tahoe Donner and found it to be very peaceful, especially on the large outside deck. We brought the kids to the Donner Lake HOA beach one day which they thoroughly enjoyed. We look forward to another visit soon.

  We stayed at this beautiful cabin for 2 nights in July. We had a large group (10) and there was plenty of room for all of us. I especially loved that there were towels and sheets in every room and the house was remarkably clean and neat. It also had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare food. It was so peaceful there. We went for a couple of walks around the neighborhood and sat out on the deck - so relaxing! We went to the beach and did some shopping in downtown truckee. There are some great restaurants there too. Our only complaint was that the trip was TOO SHORT! We would have loved to stay longer and definitely will next time. Next time we'd like to visit in the winter or try the Truckee River in the summer. Thanks for a fabulous weekend!
