Home was as advertised. A pleasant old family homestead. Owners were kind enough to make bikes available to the teens, as well as decorate for Christmas. Located a couple of blocks from trolley stops, as well as a ten minute walk from the historic/tourist district. We liked sitting out on the front porch in the morning. Fit our large family group of nine. We enjoyed our stay.

Excellent Family Reunion Venue

Our family recently had a reunion in St. Augustine and found this large house that offered two integrated apartments. This arrangement allowed each family to have privacy but still gave the option of collective gathering. There are many sleeping spaces and each has a private bathroom. This historic house has both charm and modern conveniences. It is well supplied with everything a visitor needs.

Amazing Home

Four teachers stayed here to attend a conference at Flagler College. The location of the house is perfect--we walked the few blocks to Flagler and a bit more to explore historic St. Augustine. We didn't use our cars at all the entire stay. We loved that we each had our own space, own bathroom, and could hang out and work in the huge kitchen main living area. We also liked the family photos/story and that there were real books and kitchen appliances. We saved a fortune by cooking breakfast & dinner in. :) All four of us are planning family vacations (and a return trip whether we attend the conference or not). Relaxing. Lovely. Perfect.

Close to Historic Downtown - the Dakota Suite at Oviedo House

We booked the Dakota Suite within the larger Oviedo House. What a great place to stay in St. Augustine and it’s an easy walk to the historic, picturesque downtown. We enjoyed the comforts of home with everything one would need - even a computer! The weather was perfect during our stay (75-80 degrees) so we took advantage of the front porch balcony by having wine and cheese outside while soft breezes periodically reminded us that we were basically surrounded by water. When I discovered that we could have a suite near downtown at less than the cost of the Best Western I jumped at the chance and wasn’t disappointed. We were in a one bedroom suite that had a fully equipped kitchen and small living room. My husband and I especially loved the very soft comfy king bed. The property manager was so helpful with great recommendations on places to eat and thorough knowledge of the area. We totally enjoyed our stay.

BDAY weekend at Oviedo House

We had a great time at the Oveido House for my husband's birthday weekend. The house was in a perfect location, walking distance to everything downtown. There were plenty of rooms to accommodate all of the guests. The owner, Kitty, and property manager were a great help! Perfect spot for a vacation!!

Great Family Getaway!!

We selected this house for our family's stay in St. Augustine for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The owner had a cheerful flower arrangement with a lovely card for my parents upon our arrival. The house was spacious for our 8 guests. It was clean, warmly decorated, with family pictures on the wall, loads of interesting books to read, games, cozy chairs and fireplaces. We all instantly felt like we were part of the owner's family during our stay. It was far better than any of the local bed and breakfasts we had stayed at in prior years. The kitchen was well equipped with all the things you need to make yourself at home cooking and baking, and even recipe books, should you wish to forgoe the St. Augustine potpourri of restaurants. The beds were lovely and comfortable with fluffy pillows and clean sheets. Bathrooms were clean. Plenty of towels. It was a nice touch to find some non perishable items in the cupboards, fridge and freezer, and a basket filled with bottled water on the counter, although we had already stocked up at the local Publix all the things we would be needing. The dining table was set with cloth placemats and napkins in rings.. also gave us a warm welcome after the long drive to get there. We also enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch in the coolness of the evenings before going out for more exploring about the town. Everything was just perfect and the only thing we wish we had had was a title to the photos in the hallway of all the family members and the years the photos were taken or where. The house is located very close to many places of interest in the area, especially the San Sebastian Winery, Flagler College, the Lightner Museum, Villa Zorayda, Casa Monica, etc, and all the fun places, restaurants and shops are within walking distance. We were only able to stay for 4 days, but we would definitely rent this property again and hopefully it will be for a longer stay next time.

Daughter's Wedding

Our family of 10 stayed at the Oviedo House for our daughter's wedding which was held at the White Room. The house worked out great! The location was within walking distance and the porch and deck was very popular with everyone. The owner has the house well organized and is extremely helpful. We hope to visit again in the future and recommend it to others.
