Chanslor Ranch is an historic 378 acre horse and cattle ranch and includes a private wetlands & wildlife preserve with great 'birding' sites and Native American historical sites. There is also a protected steelhead breeding stream on the property. Use of a private catch and release fishing lake is available at extra cost.
The vacation rental on the property is a classic ranch house built in the early 1950's by Mr. John Chanslor and has magnificent coastal views. The three rooms are the Sea View with panoramic ocean views and king bed, the Mountain View with queen bed, and the Ranch View with views of the ranch. The living room and formal dining room with fireplace are ocean view. There is a separate breakfast area looking over the ranch. A full internet tour of all rooms is available on the web. Linen, towels changed every three days by housekeeper.
There is a horseback riding stable on the property offering year-round guided rides to the ranch and to the beach as well as overnight horse boarding and room for horse trailers. The fishing village of Bodega Bay features fine restaurants, fishing, whale and seal watching tours, wind surfing, kayaking and a Robert Trent Jones Golf course. Three full service spas are located within minutes of the ranch and massage treatment can be ordered at the house. Take time to visit wonderful Healdsburg and historic Sonoma County in the wine country which are wonderful side trips.
10,000 acres of Sonoma Coast State Park are adjacent to the ranch and features miles of wonderful, accessible beaches with hiking trails. Point Reyes National Seashore and Russian River Recreation Area are both short drives from the property. Santa Rosa (pop 150,000) is 45 minutes away, Sebastopol (pop 14,000) is 25 minutes away and Petaluma (pop 35,000) is 35 minutes away.
