THIS HOUSE BECAME A TV STAR IN OCTOBER 2007! IT WAS FILMED AND FEATURED ON THE HOME AND GARDENS TELEVISION SHOW.....(HGTV)....'HOUSE HUNTERS.' TAPING OF THE SHOW OCCURRED IN OCTOBER, 2007, WITH THE PROGRAM BEING RERUN WITH THE TITLE 'LOOKING TO GET OUT OF THE COLD!'....SO IF YOU DECIDE TO STAY HERE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE WHERE YOU STAYED ON THE TELEVISION SHOW! THE SHOW OFTEN RUNS IN RERUNS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR! In the meantime I say....Aloha, and thank you for your interest in our wonderful Big Island vacation rental. I know you will enjoy the Panoramic oceanview from all rooms of this first class oceanfront vacation house, which will take your breath away... As well as the spectacular views as the moon and sun rises.

It was definitely our favorite of the 4 places we stayed on the Big Island this trip. The view, the waves, the peacefulness, the proximity to such beautiful places - wow! We even liked the fact that it rained briefly a few of the mornings so we could sleep in and relax a bit! The house was so comfortable with all the details thought of! And now you have 2 boogie boards in your storage shed for guests to use since we won't need them in Colorado!....Mahalo'
'What a jewel of the world your place is! We spent 9 nights and each day was better than the last. Amazing sunrises, a moon rise that lit up the ocean, and the best snorkeling right from your front yard! Our kids had a blast in the tide pools and even saw an octopus! We hated to leave and we will definitely be back! Mahalo for letting us stay at your house.
MARTINI POND, which is a tidal pool in your front yard, has geothermally, volcanic heated water flowing into it and it mixes with the ocean water for a soothing blend that you will feel wash over you as you swim in this unique ocean pond!
I try to pay attention to your every need, with beautiful Polynesian decor, bamboo ceiling, granite kitchen counters, and shoji doors. A honeymoon delight or a place to rejuvenate oneself. An ideal place for snorkeling in the many lava tidal pools as Vacationland is now a Marine Fish Reserve. Spend time in Martini Pond for your daily dip, shower off, and then go for a ride on bicycles available at the house into a neighborhood that is like a botanical garden filled with flowers, tress, and foliage. A recent guest told us it is like being in the movie Jurrasic Park! During whale season, November through April, you can hear their tails flap from your deck.
Located on the east side of the Big Island known as sunny Kapoho, you are minutes to thermal hot ponds, Kahena Black Sand Beach, awe-inspriring scenery as you drive through the Hawaiian countryside, and so much more. Take a day trip to Volcano National Park or spend the day in Hilo. Be sure to enjoy the local cuisine in Pahoa, just 8 miles away. This oceanfront vacation house is in an ideal location to experience the pristine undeveloped east side of the Big Island in luxury. MAHALO! I HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU!

We were very happy with this cottage in Kapoho. This was the first time we had stayed in a vacation rental and were very impressed. We loved waking up every morning and seeing the sun rise over the ocean right from our bed! The view is fantastic, and its such a quiet neighborhood that all you can hear are the waves and birds! The house is surrounded by trees, so you can't see the neighbors, but they are not far enough that you feel isolated. The house is small but very comfortable with a good sized kitchen and bathroom. Kitchen has good appliances including a dishwasher, and has plenty of dishes and pots and pans to use. Even some spices and cooking oil. Bathroom has a very nice washer and dryer, and laundry detergent and fabric softener were supplied. In all, a very nice experience. We did not want to leave. Thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay at Oceanfront Vacation House. Very private in a great location and nice neighborhood. Lots of things to do in the area: day trips to volcano park, waterfalls, rain forest hikes, snorkeling, farmers market,and day trip to Kona. Great kitchen. Sunrises over the ocean every morning were fantastic - never tire of that view! Especially liked having the bicycles available for our use and outdoor shower.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This was a fantastic place, by far one of our favorites so far on the big island. The house was beautiful and very comfortable. The deck was perfect for sitting and watching the sun come up everyday. We would recommend this home to any of our family and friends.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

To anyone whom wants to stay at this property, be ready to relax and enjoy great accommodations. My wife and I decided this was by far the nicest and most beautiful place we stayed on our trip.Everything was even better than described in the photos. The owner seems to take great pride in taking care of the home and the housekeeper made everything appear 5 star. We only stayed 4 nights and all we could do was rave about the whole experience. If you love fresh food, the local farmers market is fantastic with souvenirs to boot all at home town prices. There was a man on the corner right near the farmers market that sold fresh fish he had caught that morning. We had some awesome meals right on the deck watching the evening fade and listening to the frogs. I miss the frogs mesmerizing me to sleep.. The accommodations were very clean and in order, On the property were Coconut trees that my wife made me climb the ladder to get. The appliances were all very up to date and very nice. We loved the snorkeling in the tide pools. I would recommend a hard bottom water shoe for ease of entry. But the fish and visibility were phenomenal. If you venture around you can find some real nice area's to go snorkeling all within a short walk. Go discover. The drive from Pahoa is also very nice, you drive by some rainforest areas and there is Lava tree park. Everything you need to do here is as cheap priced as it gets. We were not looking for this but it is the way most things are around her. The restaurants in town were great. We went to Sukothai for Thai food and the owner greeted us to tell us it would take a while because her help had not showed up yet. "No Hurries" we are on vacation and we had a great chance to people watch. Bring your own bag for alcohol was odd but very nice. The food was great and we even had 2 local men singing local Hawaiian music. I can't say enough! Please visit and enjoy.. Leave all your problems at work... So relaxing the whole experience. Hats off to the entire area for being so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely put this on the top of my Hawaii travels. My 7th trip but 1st to this area. Weather was also great. don't worry about rain.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: Who could resist the warm tropical breezes, the amazing snorkeling in the world famous tide pools, and above all, the view from the lanai, the sunrise, even the cocque frogs! I'm an Insurance Agent and Financial Planner. I work in a high stress job. Coming to stay at the house is a respit from all the crazy things going on in the world, at work, and life in general.
