MARTINI POND, which is a tidal pool in your front yard, has geothermally, volcanic heated water flowing into it and it mixes with the ocean water for a soothing blend that you will feel wash over you as you swim in this unique ocean pond!
We pay attention to your every need, with beautiful Polynesian decor, bamboo ceiling, granite kitchen counters, and shoji doors. A honeymoon delight or a place to rejuvenate oneself. An ideal place for snorkeling in the many lava tidal pools as Vacationland is now a Marine Fish Reserve. Spend time in Martini Pond for your daily dip, shower off, and then go for a ride on bicycles available at the house into a neighborhood that is like a botanical garden filled with flowers, tress, and foliage. A recent guest told us it is like being in the movie Jurrasic Park! During whale season, November through April, you can hear their tails flap from your deck.

A short 40 minute drive to Volcano National Park. Spend the day hiking in this one of a kind park. A place for the entire family to enjoy!
As you are heading to Pahoa, turn left towards Kalapana instead. Just a 5 minute drive takes you to a great spot to hike in and see the lava of Kilehuea. Night viewing is spectacular!
Turn left out of Vacationland and follow the Red road about 10 miles. It's a breathtaking drive. As you approach Kahena, watch on your left, you'll see a stone wall turn out. Park along the road.
Take a short bikeride over to Beachlots, watch for signs that say "beach entrance" You'll have to park the bikes, then hike back in. Just follow the trail to a thermally heated snorkeling area where
Just turn left out of Vacationland and drive about a mile and you'll find the park on your left. Be sure to lock your car, then head over to the amazing Hot Ponds where you'll enjoy soaking in the 90
The infamous SADDLE ROAD. Don't drive it at night, but it is an interesting drive by day to get to the other side of the island. It is very curvey, so TAKE IT EASY! Very interesting sights.

Who could resist the warm tropical breezes, the amazing snorkeling in the world famous tide pools, and above all, the view from the lanai, the sunrise, even the cocque frogs! I'm an Insurance Agent and Financial Planner. I work in a high stress job. Coming to stay at the house is a respit from all the crazy things going on in the world, at work, and life in general.
