TAPING OF THE SHOW OCCURRED IN OCTOBER, 2007, WITH THE PROGRAM BEING RERUN WITH THE TITLE "LOOKING TO GET OUT OF THE COLD!"....SO IF YOU DECIDE TO STAY HERE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE WHERE YOU STAYED ON THE TELEVISION SHOW! THE SHOW OFTEN RUNS IN RERUNS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR! In the meantime I say....Aloha, and thank you for your interest in our wonderful Big Island vacation rental. I know you will enjoy the Panoramic oceanview from all rooms of this first class oceanfront vacation house, which will take your breath away... "What a jewel of the world your place is! We spent 9 nights and each day was better than the last. Amazing sunrises, a moon rise that lit up the ocean, and the best snorkeling right from your front yard! Our kids had a blast in the tide pools and even saw an octopus! We hated to leave and we will definitely be back! Mahalo for letting us stay at your house.
MARTINI POND, which is a tidal pool in your front yard, has geothermally, volcanic heated water flowing into it and it mixes with the ocean water for a soothing blend that you will feel wash over you as you swim in this unique ocean pond!
I try to pay attention to your every need, with beautiful Polynesian decor, bamboo ceiling, granite kitchen counters, and shoji doors. A honeymoon delight or a place to rejuvenate oneself. An ideal place for snorkeling in the many lava tidal pools as Vacationland is now a Marine Fish Reserve. Spend time in Martini Pond for your daily dip, shower off, and then go for a ride on bicycles available at the house into a neighborhood that is like a botanical garden filled with flowers, tress, and foliage. A recent guest told us it is like being in the movie Jurrasic Park! During whale season, November through April, you can hear their tails flap from your deck.
Located on the east side of the Big Island known as sunny Kapoho, you are minutes to thermal hot ponds, Kahena Black Sand Beach, awe-inspriring scenery as you drive through the Hawaiian countryside, and so much more. Take a day trip to Volcano National Park or spend the day in Hilo. Be sure to enjoy the local cuisine in Pahoa, just 8 miles away. Who could resist the warm tropical breezes, the amazing snorkeling in the world famous tide pools, and above all, the view from the lanai, the sunrise, even the cocque frogs! I'm an Insurance Agent and Financial Planner. I work in a high stress job. Coming to stay at the house is a respit from all the crazy things going on in the world, at work, and life in general.

Everything about the house and the Puna District was much more than we expected. This was my 7th trip to Hawaii (first to the Big Island) and no matter how high my expectations, she always manages to exceed them! The house was the perfect place from which to explore, and because we managed to see much of the island, I can honestly say that there is plenty to see and do in the Puna District without driving all over the island! When we returned from the boat trip (to see lava flowing into the ocean), we were 5 minutes from home, while our fellow passengers had very long rides ahead of them. Snorkeling in the tide pools was like being in our own aquarium. We enjoyed lazy mornings and evenings on the lanai and always looked forward to getting back to this wonderful piece of paradise after our explorations -- after all, we were there on a full moon... spectacular! The beachhouse was just perfect!!! It was beautifully decorated and the landscaping added a nice touch of privacy as well. We absolutely loved the house! The tide pools in our backyard were perfect for snorkeling. We woke each morning to a beautiful sunrise and were additionally treated to gorgeous moon-risings as well. As an added bonus, we were visited by a gecko and enjoyed watching the mongoose in the backyard. We spent several days enjoying Volcano National Park and its hiking trails, booked a helicopter tour to see the active lava flows, and even snorkeled with manta rays. There is so much Big Island has to offer and not enough time to see it all. We would love to return again someday but have a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get to some of those out of the way places! This was certainly a dream anniversary vacation for us!

I've never stayed in a vacation rental where the house was NICER than the photos! So quiet and private and the view was incredible! The house was perfect, clean and had everything we needed. The breezes off the ocean were so refreshing we never missed not having a/c. We drove around the neighborhood and this was by far the nicest house around! Just a few minutes walk down the road are the Kapoho tide pools and the snorkeling there was the best we'd seen on the island. Try the pools closer to the ocean - they're full of fish and coral! This rental was so wonderful and I'd definitely recommend it to everyone I know! Thank you!!!
