We just spent a really wonderful week at the beach house. It is really quaint and cozy!! The beds are very comfortable!! Kelly and Rich keep it well stocked with everything you might need. The only advice I would give is to be very careful about water usage! It is on a septic system and you really need to be careful or you might set off the alarm (which we did). It recovered just fine with Kelly's advice. We will definitely be coming back again next year!!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the beach house. Kelly and Rich have this place well appointed and there are little added touches that make it so special. We brought our dog, who loved being barely a block from the beach. The bed was super comfy, linens/towels were cozy and it was so quiet in the neighborhood. A perfect place to get away from it all. We'll be back!

A super fun cottage in an excellent location. We left Seattle and within an hour, ferried across the sound and were in the front door of this very simple but quaint cottage. The cottage is very inviting and there's plenty of room for four to enjoy the views. We took advantage of the cozy fireplace with reading, taking naps, and sipping on a glass of wine. Perhaps it was two. Nonetheless, it was very relaxing. For our Valentine's dinner we ventured down the road to Langley where we found several restaurants to choose from. The following day, we returned for an adventurous afternoon of shopping. The nearby beach is easily accessible and great for combing. The following day we left for home and within an hour, we were in the front door. Although we hadn't gone far, certainly feel like we got away. Thanks for a great weekend.

I had the privilege of ringing in the New Year at the Wayfarer with my husband, baby, and our dog. The rental was exactly what we had hoped for, an old, but very clean and well maintained and outfitted beach cottage that was extremely dog friendly. Alley enjoyed the dog door to the fenced back yard, dog bed, food and water bowls, and treats from the jar VERY much! The towels and bedding are very high quality and the soap and lotions were such a nice touch. Kelly will also provide you tons of insider Whidbey tips so you will know exactly where to eat and what to do. We've been to Whidbey several times before, but tried some new things based on her suggestions (Cozy's Roadhouse for a good greasy burger and hiking in he Saratoga Woods) and everything was great. LOVED the gas fireplace too! I would love to come back to this cottage in the summer. It's set up like a duplex with one bathroom and one bedroom on each side of the house, so it would be the perfect place to stay with another couple or my parents. All the best to the Russo's and your guests!

We stayed 3nites/4days over Christmas weekend, brought our dog, and really enjoyed the place. It is spacious, neat, bright, well-maintained and comfortably furnished, including a gas log stove for ambience and heat in the large living room, and lots of books and board games, plus tv/dvd player and movies. Nice, spacious eat-in kitchen, fully equipped (except dishwasher). Lots of fluffy, white towels and specialty soaps and lotions in the 2 bathrooms. The front of the house is all windows so there is a view of the water by day and the city lights of Mukilteo by night. We especially liked the king size memory foam mattress - sooo comfy! And, there is also dog bowls and a dog bed! Remarkably, you would never know others had been there with their dogs before you (no odors or pet hair left behind). The owners also provide lots of info on the sites, shops and restaurants in the area and are happy to find other special info you might need. It had everything we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed. We will go back, and continue to recommend it to others.

We had planned on spending a week at this rental, but left after one night. The property would be fairly described as run-down. It was one notch above camping. The kitchen was disgusting and unsanitary. We had to clean the refrigerator before we could stock it with our groceries. The 1950s countertop had been used as a cutting board and was absolutely worn out and broken through to the underlaying wood. The inside of the cupboards were filthy. To the owners' credit they were apologetic and did give us a full refund.
Owner response:Apparently "Jeff & Tammy" thought they'd be staying at a 5-star hotel, rather than listening to my wife's description of the property as it is presented in our listing, which has delighted many a visitor. The Wayfarer Beach is an older, but well-equipped fishing cabin in a great spot. Our previous feedback & reviews speak positive volumes about this property, which is maintained with love and the intent to share a beautifiul area of Whidbey. I will say that we have NEVER, EVER had to give a refund to any of our hundreds of satisfied guests that have stayed at any of our properties for any reason, especially those mentioned in the above review. Please dont hesitate to call us at any time, with any questions about this property or any of our others. We would be happy to send additional pictures of anything mentioned in the above review. Sincere thanks to all who have stayed at the Wayfarer.

What a wonderful beach cabin! Our little family, including our golden retriever, was very comfortable here - very short stroll to the beach, short drive to stores etc. The cabin is very clean and well stocked, special note to the plush towels provided. The beds are comfortable and furnishings comfortable. We would recommend this to anyone as a delightful vacation spot to relax, watch the ferries and enjoy peace and quiet. Thanks again!

My husband, I, and our two pups just spent 2 weeks at this charming and welcoming beach cottage. It's clean, comfortable and very pet friendly. I think it's one of the nicest vacation's we have ever had....and much of that is due to the host's/owner's, Kelly and Rich. They could not have more accommodating, helpful and friendly. The wonderful Mukilteo ground coffee that awaited us, as well as lovely lotions and soaps (for me!)! What a treat! Thank you Kelly and Rich! They thoughtfully left local maps for us, as well as dining suggestions and places of interest to visit. The bedroom was very comfortable, with a huge window that provided us with lovely views of the water. The beach was less than a block away, beautiful and filled with wildlife. It was breathtaking and we enjoyed what each day would bring, as did our dogs! This is not the "Ritz", but then again, but it never pretended to be the "Ritz". It lived up to it's description...which is a charming, inviting, circa "50's" beach house that is obviously well loved by the owners and the owners before them. It's a gem! We look forward to coming back in September. Thanks again Kelly and Rich, for allowing us to stay in your home, we loved it! BTW...your neighbors are great too! Warmest Regards, Pete and Camille (Tori Lou and DJ too!)

What a fun stay we had at the Whidbey Wayfarer house! Such an adorable cabin. This place is a true beach-house get-away. A super cozy cabin, with the amenities of a 5 star hotel! Comfy clean linens, big fluffy towels and little hotel soaps are such a bonus! It is obviously well cared for, and feels like an Inn, not like somebodys house (ran into that issue in other rentals in the past, thankful this place was different!) I loved it! The beach is just a little walk away, and the owners are so helpful in providing suggestions for things to do on Whidbey. We will definitely stay again. So very pleased with this place, thank you so much!

I stayed here with a friend and my dog in April '09. We had a fantastic stay! It's a cute beach house, very clean on a quiet dead end street. The private beach is a short walk away. It has a fenced in back yard and a huge front yard for the dog to run around. The best part was relaxing in front of the fireplace at night. The owners left us maps to the area for things to do. I will definitely stay here again!

So glad we found your listing. This was an ideal place for us to spend a very quiet, relaxing week with our two Labradors. Thanks for the welcoming vase of lilacs (and the coffee!) and all the useful information on the off-leash areas and things to do in the area. The house is well equipped and comfy and we felt very much at home. Hope to be back some day.
