Stayed at the Orville- Chandler Ranch recently with friends. The nicely appointed home is in very quiet and beautiful location with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. Minutes to the local ski area- Anthony Lakes and the historic town of Baker. The owners have thought of everything that a guest could want, including snow sleds. Enjoyed our visit and planning to return next year.

Hi, I have, as faithfully as possible, copied all comments from our physical guest book and pasted them here. Many comments are accompanied by sketches etc. which I can't reproduce. Also, I omitted all names other than the first initial followed by the ellipes (P...). I invite all future guests to make entries here & of course in the book at the ranch. You may see the oruginals there too. Thank you Pat Chandler owner

10/18/04 Thank you for a fabulous weekend. We had so much fun biking, hiking, playing fetch with the dogs, cooking, eating, playing games, chatting & sleeping in cozy beds. This is the perfect getaway---next time we just need more time. We so much appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. We look forward to our next stay. Megan and company

What a place!Accessible enough for privacy, yet large enough for group gatherings. And what gatherings we shared. This was the first ever family reunion for the T… and as the song goes “we came from far and near”. Childhood experiences were shared and brought tears of joy and laughter. Others, who were not there for the experiences, delighted in the telling and offered times of their own. The surprise for all was how well the separate groups blended into F-A-M-I-L-Y. Many thanks to Vance for making this a truly significant emotional experience. It should and could happen again.T…s etc.

8/4/04H…’s family reunion Wow! Did we have fun at your place! We played lotsa cards, cards, ate lotsa food, caught lotsa frogs & made lotsa memories. We were especially thankful for the high quality pots & pans and the fluffy towels. The decks make great beds. We enjoyed the coyotes howling & the plethora of twinkling stars. God has blessed our family richly and we rekindled that realization here at your house. Thanks Grand pa & Grand ma = 2 7 kids & their spouses = 14 Grand kids = 21 Great grands = 8 _________ 45Hi- What a lovely place. It allowed us to gather with all seven of our children, all their mates, all eight of our great grand children and a number of the grandchildren to share old memories and build new ones.T. M…

Loved this place and it was a hit at my dads 90th birthday party. Comfort and privacy. Hawks and owls, humming birds & a zillion fledgling struggling to fly for the first time. The resident doe in the pasture added charm- as did the old hotel doors masquerading as room and closet doors.Hospitality and complexity oozed out of every nook & cranny.Did you also order the full moon and clear nights? We’ll be back. We felt welcomed & privileged all the time we spent here.Grand Ma

. 3/27/& 3/28/04The families of W…, V…, H…& H… enjoyed a wonderful time snow-mobiling, friendship & laughter for 2 days. We’re all from the Pendleton area & already making plans to do this on an annual basis. The cabin is gorgeous & we totally felt at home. We are a varied bunch, some from each lovely northwest state. Team Boiselicious from Idaho, team LaBetter from LaGrande and of course the Jeff S…-4-hrs-with-a-ticket-mobile fresh from Seattle. The house is quite pleasant. However, how in heck did That rock get in the house? We never found those damned hot springs so we made due with the Jacuzzi tub. Alpine meadow sported us a gorgeous Blue Bird day with excellent snow, no lines and great folks. Enjoy the moments when you are here-life is short, precious and it’s all about the people, your people. Find your people and be happy.*******************************************************

Not datedThe clans of McL…, McN…& W… gathered for a feast & friendship. As Spring is upon us we enjoyed music, wine & the laughter of nine children & 8 adults. Skiing was good, hiking was great and plans were made to repeat the experience. Thanks to our hosts for everything.
