Seahaven Retreat/Reunion/Wedding Oceanfront Hibank - 8.5 Baths

Year Purchased: 2001

Why the Owner Chose Oceanside

Oceanside is a picturesque village which is convenient to Portland. The particular site where The Sea Haven is located provides one of the most panoramic views in this area, sweeping from the lights of the village on Maxwell Mountain all the way to Cape Lookout and the mouth of Netarts Bay. High elevation provides a "birds-eye view."

The Unique Benefits at this Lodge

Oceanside has quiet and secluded sandy beaches, yet it's an easy drive to the touristy hotspots North and South of us on the coast. We have the best of all worlds here. Hang gliders and paragliders frequently launch from Maxwell Mountain, painting the skies overhead with their colorful fancy-free images. Between watching gliders, surfers, whales, sea lions, hummingbirds' fencing, brilliantly sparkling surf and shimmering moondancing on the waves, I could be entertained indefinitely without having to leave my window.

Selling real estate, as I have for over 30 years, I am always coming across houses I fall in love with, and this time had the good fortune to buy. The Sea Haven for me is exactly what the name says, a haven & respite from the rigors of a demanding career.

Large nicely furnished beach front rental house. It is accurately described and the pictures depict it well. Many bedrooms (some secluded). Downstairs "recreation rooms" well used by our children and thus not underfood allof the time. Appliances, etc. all work as described. Many bookcases full of interesting books. Many high quality features and furniture. Short drive to beach. To Tillamook a moderate short drive. Owner coperative. After vacvating, we got full Security Deposit returned to us.

Why can't we stay here forever?

Guest: Liz (Boise, Idaho)
Date of Stay: 08/06/11 Review Submitted: 08/11/11

This house is great!!! It has everything you need plus more. We had a large group and it was great to have a room for each of the 6 couple and even the kids had beds to sleep on. The kitchen has everything you may need. It was fun to go down to the beach in the morning and see the tide pools. We saw a 20 arm star fish. It was wonderful to go out each evening on the deck and watch the ocean as the sun went down. Pam the owner was great. We talked with Pam several times before we got there and when we came accross a problem and she took care of it the day we called. Everything was clean and well maintained. As my son put it on the way home, "Why can't we live there forever?" I know we will be returning here on our next trip to the Oregon Coast.

Owner response:Reviews like yours, Liz, warm my heart. I love to read the remarks kids write in the Guest Book, too. The Sea Haven is usually a real hit with kids - particularly from 10 through teen years. Thanks for your booking. Hope you become one of our regulars.

Perfect Location for Wedding/Reception

Guest: Blushing Bride (Alexandria, VA)
Date of Stay: 08/15/10 Review Submitted: 09/10/10

We found the Sea Haven over a year ago and thought it would be great for our Oceanside destination wedding & reception - turns out, it was PERFECT! Friends from the East Coast stayed at the house, plenty of room for everyone, quiet enough for a 1-yr old to sleep soundly, kitchen big enough (and extremely well stocked) to easily accommodate group dinners of 10-15 AND caterers who fed 30+ for our reception held at the house. The deck overlooking the water was ideal for serving various courses of food and fantastic for sunset pictures, and Michael and Pam couldn't have been more helpful and friendly with our special requests. Their home and their hospitality (as they live in the owners suite connected to the main part of the house) made for the perfect wedding week! I think everyone at the wedding would come back for an anniversary trip!

Owner response:Thanks for booking your wedding in this romantic spot! I think you added good karma to The Sea Haven. For anyone else scheduling a wedding here, we can't accommodate sleeping for more than 25, but a daytime or early evening reception can host up to 50 guests as long as they arrive in no more than 12 vehicles.

Great reunion get-away

Guest: Linda (Twin Falls, Idaho)
Date of Stay: 06/11/10 Review Submitted: 07/10/10

We have a large family of 7 children, one daughter was not able to come so there was a bedroom for each family and with the other sleeping areas each grandchild had a space. Having all the bathrooms was wonderful. I e-mailed the owner before renting to see if we could accomadate about 26 and we were told that the law would not allow more than 27, so it worked out perfectly for us. We cooked most of our meals at the house and it worked out very well. It was close enough to many attractions that we enjoy especially the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Also close enough for a nice drive to Newport. The owners are very nice and very accommadating. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Owner response:Thank YOU for this glowing report. For anyone reading this, please know that babies are not included in the maximum number allowed. However, your group's stay at The Sea Haven would be most comfortable with no more than 15 adults. At least 10 people would be sleeping on futons, hide-a-beds, and a top bunk, which are great for kids or small adults. Details about the sleeping accommodations are including in the great VRBO website as well as in the virutal tour wildnaturefilmworks.com/seahaven.html

Date of Stay: 08/22/09 Review Submitted: 08/22/09

This is a great place for a family reunion. There are lots of private rooms and baths with 2 areas for larger get togethers. We ate many of our meals in, so the 2 kitchens and ample cookware were appreciated. The views from the property are breathtaking. The area offered many opportunities for both the younger and older family members. The beach and fishing are nearby and the home offers a nice setting for family reminiscing. Pam and Mike are the perfect hosts. They were always available and willing to offer their help and answer our questions. Thank you. Pat

Owner response:We love family reunions. Nothing more heartwarming than to see so many happy loving faces coming and going. People always worry that we can hear their celebrating through the wall, but not so. Our apartment is very soundproof. Outside, however, the local law requires quiet after 10 p.m. Pat, you were so nice to post this review. Thanks so much and please come again.

We recently had a small family reunion here and were Looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay with an awesome view. This is the place to stay kind of a hotel/home. Lots of room for every one to stretch out and relax, and a bed and bath for each family. A few to many stairs for the elderly, but once one the main floor not a problem!! The first day Two whales greeted Us and Paragliders and Eagles sent us off. A truly awesome Experiance!!!!!Be sure to bring your camera cause you have no idea what you might see.

Owner response:This group was wonderful and are welcome back anytime - they treated the home with respect and left it tidy. Regarding the stairs, please know that there is a complete apartment on the ground floor, but whoever stays in it would want to go up one flight of stairs to be with the rest of the group in the main gathering areas (main kitchen & living rooms)

Very interesting house! It suited our needs just perfectly! We had several separate groups of people joining us for a weekend at the beach. Each group was able to have their own bedroom and even bathroom! The children absolutely enjoyed the play areas. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware for our meals. The view was amazing. It was just perfect! Thank you, Pam and Mike!

Owner response:Having the spacious bedrooms with private bathrooms has been a hit with multiple families as well as with groups of unrelated people. Everyone marvels at the views! Thank you for taking the time to submit this testimonial.
