Our SPACIOUS 1 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, partial OCEAN VIEW condo is about 150 yards from the ocean. This condo is located in the highly sought after Poipu Sands complex in the Poipu Kai Resort. Our unit in Building 4 is the CLOSEST 1 BEDROOM CONDO BY OWNER TO THE OCEAN. From our lanai and even inside our condo, you will HEAR THE SURF BREAK.
Poipu Sands is situated on 7.5 acres of lush, tropical, well-maintained grounds. Within Poipu Kai, Poipu Sands has the only private tennis court and the largest and only swimming pool which is heated. Poipu Sands condos are the only condos in Poipu Kai with direct beach access (no need to cross a street, no traffic, no cars...just an easy and beautiful path to the beach). Also, our condo is on the ground floor with easy access from the near-by parking and no need to haul luggage or groceries up & down stairs.

Why the Owner Chose Poipu Sands
In planning our 1st Kauai trip, we read in the LA Times Poipu Sands was highly requested and ideally located. While staying there, we agreed! So on our 2nd visit, we extensively researched Kauai properties, and asked a local broker to let us know when specific Poipu Sands units became available. A few months later we had the keys to our own piece of paradise. Poipu Sands is steps away from Shipwreck Beach and the 5-star Grand Hyatt Resort & Spa, and only a short walk or drive to Poipu Beach Park and Brennecke's Beach. We love that Poipu Sands is located on a 7-acre greenbelt, making it very low density and truly a lush, tropical environment. We enjoy the ground floor location close enough to hear the surf break.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
From our unit, you hear the surf break as we are ~150 yards from the water's edge. The condo is set back, well away from street noise. Poipu Sands has its own swimming pool and tennis court (no charge). In a few minutes, you can walk to the sandy and beautiful Shipwreck Beach as well as the 5-star Grand Hyatt Resort & Spa (our neighboring property). The Grand Hyatt has fine and casual dining plus live entertainment and spectacular grounds. Two golf courses are within a few miles of our property; in fact you can walk to the golf course at the Grand Hyatt. A well-maintained, well-lit (for evening strolls) path meanders through the Poipu Kai Resort community leading to Poipu Beach Park and Brennecke's Beach. Condo parking is very convenient and plentiful. You get free high speed Internet access and a very comfortable new California King size bed. Our condo is a very spacious, ~1000 square foot, 1 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath unit. It opens to a lanai with partial ocean views and is located in a park-like setting. With an equipped kitchen, the condo has a warm and homey feel. Poipu Sands is part of Poipu Kai which has 7 swimming pools and 9 tennis courts (soft and hard surfaces). The condo is close to the famous Roy's restaurant and natural attractions such as Spouting Horn.

We live and work in Southern California, and we love to travel. When we first visited Kauai, we felt so rejuvenated and loved exploring the unspoiled island. We resolved to return often. Now we take pleasure and pride in our condo, both in fixing it up and sharing it with our guests. We have a morning ritual of sipping local Kauai coffee and fresh fruit smoothies on the lanai where we watch the birds and the palm trees sway as we plan our day. Things we most enjoy include the fresh fish; local fruit, vegetable and flora "Sunshine" farmer's markets; the clean air and trade winds; the warm, inviting ocean as going into the water makes us feel like kids again; finding hideaway spots at beaches; and relaxing on our lanai spending stress-free time together. We know you'll enjoy staying at Poipu Sands 418, our home away from home.

We found this unit to be exactly as advertised. It really IS steps away from the beach and in an amazing location. The landlord was very courteous and responsive, even calling me back to tell me exactly what items were in the kitchen ahead of my stop in Lihui to buy provisions. There is also an ocean view from the living room area, which you can't see from the photos. We would highly recommend this unit and will absolutely return and rent it again.

We had a wonderful week at Poipu Sands. The Condo is just as described at the web site. We enjoyed 7 days of sunshine and temps in the 80s and got to see most all of the island attractions - which are most all nature and not bricks and mortar. From warm beaches, to double waterfalls, to deep canyons, to amazing seascapes, to a lighthouse, and wonderful eating - it could not be beat for a our first visit to the Hawaiian Islands! Don't worry about the weather - if there are showers to the East there is sunshine to the West! Our best meal was lunch at the Kilohana Plantation which has a very reasonably priced menu for the mid-day meal. Drive all over the Island and you will discover wonderful views and adventures to keep you busy for a week. The Luau at the Hyatt is excellent - we did that our last night! Aloha!

Need I say more? look at all the 5 star reviews, all truthful. The renting of this unit goes smoothly, the owners handle things well.They keep you well informed and have thought of everything to make your stay as convenient and comfortable as home. As stressful as traveling can be this place really allows you to unwind. The location is ideal, with the road system everything is just minutes away, a fine beach and groceries etc. You are just steps away from where you park your car from your ground floor front door. The grounds are very well maintained as well as the pool area. Wonderful view from your patio, along with being peaceful. My spouse was very relaxed and comfortable there. We have rented from vbro before.This unit is as nice as the photos show, no surprises, just a great getaway. Thanks to the Bays for sharing a little bit of heaven with us.

The condo was as described in the literature. It is very close to the ocean, you can constantly hear the magnificent surf. It is well maintained and very easy to contact the owners. It is right next to the Grand Hyatt property with all its amenities. The sea turtles have a buffet table set up in front of the condo. We saw up to nine turtles at once. You can have as little or as much activity as you want. Good walking, paved paths are convenient along the ocean.The location is absolutely great, near Poipu Point and Koloa, where you can get any supplies, meals, and beverages you want. Everything from Plantation Gardens restaurant to puka dogs or Bubba's burgers if you don't want to cook. The unit is very well furnished and supplied; buy your food and beverages and move in! We will recommend it to friends and hope to visit again ourselves.

The condo was spotless when we arrived and had everything we needed for our two-week stay. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Great swimming pool! We highly recommend taking advantage of all of the walking paths leading to the beaches and nearby restaurants. Kalapaki Joe's and Dondero's restaurants were two of our favorites and both are a short walk from the condo. If a calm, quiet, relaxing vacation is what you're looking for, this is the place to go. Would love to stay here again. Shelly and Greg, the owners, were quick to respond to any questions we had prior to our arrival. We had a wonderful experience.

4/25 to 5/2 ~ We had a great time at this condo ~ It was central to everything that we needed for our initial week in Poipu. We were close to high end restaurants, bars, golf, gardens, hiking, snorkeling and beach walks. We found a private cove with a tree bench and watched the turtles every morning with our coffee. Very comfortable condo, great pool setting especially in the evening under the stars. The owners are great and we appreciated their prompt interaction. Would consider this location again. This condo is a great place to stay! We had everything we needed, the condo was well kept and equipped and we especially appreciated the supplies for the beach - chairs, cooler, umbrellas and boogie boards! We loved the proximity to the beach and the walking trails, it made for some beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed the entire area of Poipu and would recommend staying here if you enjoy the sun and the beach and the laid back feeling of Kauai. The owners were easy to deal with and we would definitely return here if we have the opportunity to return to Kauai.

It was spacious, immaculate, comfortable and very charming. We had everything we needed to make this our best vacation ever! The people in the community were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. We enjoyed walking the beach every morning to see the gorgious sunrise. We could have not asked for a better location! The beach was spectacular. We even saw one of the endangered monk seals resting. We loved the excellent running paths. We ran past the golf course each morning and marveled at the beautiful views we encountered. We definitely will be back! We were so fortunate to have found the best place to stay on Kauai!

We had a lovely time in Kauai. Condo was exactly as described. Poipu Sands is a beautiful complex with a great pool and BBQ area. We loved the close proximity to the ocean and the sound of the waves hitting the rocks at night. Condo was very well equipped and had everything that we needed. We loved going for hikes early in the morning and spending the day at secluded beaches. Hiked to the cave where Raiders of the Lost Ark was filmed and also saw the cottage where The Thorn Birds was filmed. Could watch the sun rise from our lanai early the morning and later in the day walk the path and see the beautiful sunsets. Spent lazy days just watching the surfers and cliff divers at the beach in front of the Hyatt Hotel. Will definitely return.
