Why the Owner Chose Ruth Hardy Park
I have owned and rented vacation rentals in Palm Springs for over 12 years now. I pride myself in knowing that the home has everything it could possibly need for someone to come to Palm Springs and thoroughly enjoy themselves and relax - without worrying about anything...
I specifically chose Ruth Hardy Park so that I would have the close proximity to downtown, the casino, and all the restaurants - yet be far enough out from the mountains so that I wouldn't lose the afternoon/evening sun too soon. Best of both worlds...
The Unique Benefits at this House
I am a solar panel - I thrive off of the sun - which is precisely why I chose Palm Springs to purchase a vacation home. Amigo has floor to ceiling windows in the family room that is flooded with light and provides an unparalleled mountain view at the same time. I love that the yard is completely walled and gated so that I can enjoy the pool and yard in complete privacy. And I also love that I am but a brisk one mile walk from the center of downtown Palm Springs - where I walk for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails...
Owner's Map of Ruth Hardy Park
I am a freelance architecture and interiors photographer from Seattle. I came to Palm Springs 13 years ago and fell in love with it. I designed and furnished "AMIGO" from top to bottom when we gutted and completely remodeled it 4 years ago. I am a perfectionist with an eye for detail, and I scoured the country for all the pieces, hardware, light fixtures, and artwork that all came together as "AMIGO"

Stayed at Amigo right before the Thanksgiving holiday. The place is very charming and comfortable – let’s just say the décor through out the place was impeccable – you can tell James the owner took a lot of time collecting to add such fun detail to the house. The location - it was convenient to downtown and all that it has to offer. The amenities: the kitchen was beautiful – has everything you could ever need to entertain; there is a really nice bathroom off the pool area with a shower – very handy so you don’t have to go walking through the house all wet; the full bath beautifully decorated; didn’t use the living area much but it was very festive; nice dining table and nice sitting area that over looks the pool. The main bedroom had a sliding glass door that went right out to the pool area and the second bedroom had a sliding glass door off to a little sitting area. I can’t say enough about James the owner. The pool – well James disclosed the first day that the heater broke – I appreciated that he told me before I got there and offered to get us day passes at the Riviera until it was fixed. He jumped through many hoops to get it fixed as fast as possible and we were swimming comfortably the next day. He spoiled us. Brought us fresh lemons and oranges, told us about great restaurants, when I told him I brought the wrong camera charger, he leant me his old camera then went to the store and bought me a charger! I would rent Amigo and from James again in a heartbeat. Loved it!

I hesitate to write this review because we love this house so much and hope to be renting it frequently in the future. It was just perfect for us and our pets for 2 months. James is fantastic. Loved the fact that it was so close to town, close to good golf, hiking, etc. Just a wonderful overall experience. We'll be back!

We were absolutely delighted with this vacation rental. The charming home is tastefully decorated and appointed - it had everything we needed for a carefree home-away-from-home stay. The quiet neighborhood and private pool made for a very relaxing visit. We can't wait for a chance to come back and hope to be able to stay longer next time. Thanks, James!

This house made my Palm Springs birthday vacation. We picked it because it was affordable and cute. When we arrived, we were so excited that the pictures did not come close to how well-decorated the house was. The photos we took throughout the weekend could have been out of a Vouge photoshoot because of the beautiful backdrop Amigo provided. Pack your brightest bathing suit! I was there with 5 girlfriends and we never felt crowded. The pool area is spacious and the outdoor speakers that you can play your Ipod through really topped off the whole postive, relaxing trip. In summery, James is a gracious, prompt, and accomodating host. The prices are fair and the house is well appointed. We will be back!

Simply put - this home is incredible! It was even better than we had hoped it would be. The home was spotless and perfect and had everything we could have possibly needed to enjoy our two weeks in Palm Springs. The kitchen was a joy to cook in, the pool was heavenly, and walking to town for breakfast is something we never get to do in Canada. I would recommend this home for anyone considering a vacation to Palm Springs! Thank you James for taking such good care of us!
