My family had a wonderful time here this week. You have a great spot. the whale watching tour you recommended in Eastport was well worth the trip up there. My son had great fun lookiing through the seaweed in search of crabs and jellies washing in on the waves. At dusk a big porcupine walked by the cabin. Our dog alerted us to it. That night we saw terns plunging in for fish before dark.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We had such a wonderful stay at your famly cottage. The view was ever changing and lovely. We biked on the Sunset Rail Trail and went on the Winter Harbor Ferry. But best of all were the breakfasts and evenings on the porch. Thanks very much.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

After staying at a cottage several years in Deer Isle, Me we decided to come farther downeast. As we drove beyond Ellsworth through Gouldsboro and Steuben we knew we were going to get what we were looking for, a place off the beaten path. What a wonderful surprise when we finally arrived. the view is spectacular! We have had a good time watching the tide come in and go out. We have had a great time and look forward to returning.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We just spent our 2nd years stay at this wonderful camp on the ocean. It has everything we needed to cook with and even to grill outside. We enjoyed eating out on the porch with the window open to see the beautiful ocean view and to smell the wonderful ocean breeze. We also had our sons and grandkids down for a cookout and campfire. The granddaughters enjoyed watching a chipmunk running around on the rocks and lawn trying to find some leftovers! Then they had fun sleeping in the cozy bunkbeds. There was a TV, but we chose not to watch it so we could just have quiet time and enjoyed nature. Every day when the tide was out, we watched a seal laying out on a ledge with seaweed sunbathing! When the tide came in, he would wait till the very last minute to move, then it would float him off the ledge and he would swim away. Enjoyed seeing him everyday! It was also nice to sit on the porch or outside at the picnic table and do some quiet reading, which I never have time to at home. So thanks to the owners for allowing people to enjoyed this wonderful Maine experience!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Were we not on the West Coast we would return year after year to this charming cabin-on-the-bay! The location, views and total experience were perfect for a sister's reunion. We were able to totally relax, drive for hours without any traffic, experience the wonderful tiny towns of Down East Maine, eat our fill of fresh lobster, cod and blueberries daily, watch deer, birds and marvelous sunsets from the screened porch or the welcoming outdoor areas surrouding this delightful vacation spot. The owners, living close by, could not have been more gracious and helpful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We really enjoyed our week's stay. The cottage was comfortable and cozy. Very well stocked with everything one would need. It was really nice to have our morning coffee out on the porch and watch the fishing boats go by. We had everything we needed to cook whatever we wanted, even a lobster dinner when our sons and granddaughters came to visit. The little ones enjoyed sleeping in the bunk beds and playing outside. There were also plenty of games for them to play. They enjoyed eating out on the picnic table and having a camp fire at night and making smore's. We enjoyed sitting out at night and listening to the sound of the ocean and also the moon shining on the water was beautiful. It was wonderful to wake up to the smell of the ocean air and the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. Even the sound of the lobster boats was nice. There are many nearby things to do, Acadia National Park, hiking, biking, walking, lots of really nice restaurants. But we enjoyed the most just relaxing at the cottage. Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to just get away and relax or enjoy some of the many nearby activities.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Bedrooms weren't much more than closets (the bunk beds are litteraly in a closet) and the furnishings were old and worn. The view of the water was great and we enjoyed walking along the rocky coast. We even enjoyed being awaken at daylight by the many lobster boats gunning their engins around the cove.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.
Owner response: The description of the camp clearly states that it has one bedroom and small sleeping enclosures for the other beds. The camp is a family camp that has had many children and pets staying there. The furnishings, while not new, are clean and not shabby. There are fancy hotels in the area but you will pay a lot more to sleep up to seven people and you will not have the privacy or the ability to cook your meals or enjoy views of and access to the ocean at any of them.

Peaceful, rustic with all the comforts, and utterly delightful. We especially appreciated the fully-stocked kitchen. Example: we picked wild crab apples one day and came back to the cottage to find everything we needed to bake a pie -- from a rolling pin, flour sifter, Pyrex baking dish, measuring spoons, etc. Whatever dish/pot/pan/utensil we needed was there to allow us to prepare wonderful meals -- which we always chose to eat out on the porch in the accompaniment of a glorious seascape. And then there's the unforgettable ebb and flow of the tides along with sunsets viewed right from the porch. There literally was nothing more we possibly could have asked for.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
