Our stay was WONDERFUL!! There are no words to describe how perfect your home was for our family! As I think back on our week stay it brings tears to my eyes. That is how perfect it was. Everyone had their own space, yet the kitchen and living area accommodated all of us comfortably. The grand-daughters took over the music room as their play room. Not one toy was found outside that room! The girls loved using it as their slumber party room as well! We had our four children and their mates around the kitchen table for a breakfast and dinner and I can't tell you how that made us feel. That table was the hub of our stay! But the best part was us old folks could go to the cottage and enjoy the peace and quiet. LOL. The back yard and patio received a work out as well. I just hope the horses didn't gain much weight on the apples we fed them. The quail, turkeys and the cow with the bell around it's neck were the cherry on top! Monterey and Carmel attractions were less than 5-15 minutes away and beach access for an afternoon picnic was just across the street. For those who wanted to hike or bike ride, Pt Lobos Reserve was only a hop, skip and jump away. There was always something to do or see for our group that aged from 18 months to, well retirement age! We all can't wait to return. Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers.

Hello Pat, I hope this message finds you well! I just want to let you know your family's home is gorgeous! The photos and descriptions do not do it justice! We are very much enjoying our time here. I do have a favor to ask, my husband is a PGA Tour Player playing in the AT&T. If he makes the cut after tomorrow he will be playing on Sunday. I understand the check out time on Sunday is 10am but if possible would we be able to extend it till about 4 or 5pm if you do not have a tenant after us?Did you find this review helpful? Everything was great. The home was perfect for our family. The view was beautiful. There was lots of room for the kids to explore and run around and they had a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend this place for any large family. Thank you for sharing your home and we would come back again if we can ever get our families vacations coordinated together again. We did our best to take care of your home as we take care of our own.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I want to THANK you for the rental of the Acorn Ranch last week. I can't tell you how much we loved it, from the beautiful views to the incredible family history. My husband and I were in need of a quiet getaway. Your family's legacy of preserving Point Lobos for future generations was inspiring to us and our families, an understanding of prior generations and their contributions to this world. We will definitely be back for a second visit, my husband has an architectural / engineering firm and he would like to bring his staff for a visit to soak up the architecture and history. So again, a heartfelt THANK YOU, you provided us with a memorable vacation that we will always cherish.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a wonderful stay at the ranch with the horses and ocean both in our view from most of the rooms in the house. It was beautiful weather and the way the house was laid out it was nice and quiet for us. The facilities were well maintained. We used the house mostly as a base for travel, although we enjoyed a few evenings by the fireplace in the kitchen. Our stay there helped create quite a memoribable experience for all eight of us!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+.
Owner response: Hey Thanks for the great review. Glad you guys had a good trip. You did have some good weather as well. Best Patrick

We recently had a family "Destination Wedding" at Big Sur. Family and friends traveled from both coasts as well as from various points across America's heartland to be a part of this celebration. Our greatest concern was how to make all the travelers feel relaxed and able to really enjoy the beauty of the California coast without feeling cramped & isolated in hotel rooms. Once we found the Acorn ranch property, we knew that we had found our wedding week respite! True enough, the Acorn provided much needed down time for all with gorgeous views! The large backyard patio was ample space to entertain groups of 30-40 with ease. The grounds were gorgeous and the home itself proved spacious and welcoming! We loved watching the waves crashing along Point Lobos and enjoyed our nightly fires. Truly enjoyable getaway! This is a property we will keep on our "must return" list! Hi Pat! Thank you SO much for everything. Despite the so-so weather (which, by the way, the East Coast people LOVED), we had a wonderful week, and we really made use of the Acorn property...horseshoes, badminton and bocci on the front lawn, fires every day, cooking all but one dinner at home, etc. etc. And that trail right by the cottages...such a wonderful way to get to town! The dogs were in HEAVEN, too. They loved watching the horses, cows, turkeys, and other animals, as well as laying in front of the fire on in sunny spots all over the house. I have a hilarious video of our Boston Terrier Davey checking out the cows...he's so excited, but they couldn't care less about him. The place is truly perfect for a getaway for family or close friends. How wonderful to have these homes and land, and their heritage in your family for so long. Truly a treasure! We'll stay again for sure! Best, LaurieDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
