We built a beautiful home on the Centerville River across from Craigville Beach. Every bedroom has hardwood floors, a nice soft bed and a private tile bath with granite vanity, access to a balcony and beautiful water views, perfect for a family get away or a small corporate retreat.
The top floor library and great room has has expansive views in all directions and a wide screen TV, gas fireplace and a wet bar. With built-in bookshelves, the library has more beach books and novels than you could read in a lifetime.
You can walk to Craigville Beach for a swim in the Nantucket Sound or stroll to the "4 Seas" and sample the world's best ice cream! You can fish in the Centerville River, gather wildflowers in the back yard, pick fresh blueberries or just lounge in the sun on one of the private decks. There are lots of cozy places to curl up with a book if that is your goal. Or spend your day watching the ducks, geese and swans on the Centerville River from the window seat. After all, it's your vacation!

Why the Owner Chose Centerville
I grew up here on Cape Cod and building this home was a twelve year project. But we are willing to bet you'll agree it was well worth the effort!
The waters of Nantucket Sound and Craigville Beach have always had magical healing powers for me and my family.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our house is wired with a sound system and 2 large flat screen TV's. We have a library of DVD's and even a dock for your iPod. Our wireless internet connection means you can be online inside or out on one of the decks so you can stay "wired in" (if you must)...
But, if your goal is to "Unplug" for your vacation, we have hundreds of books and beach novels and plenty of cozy places to read quietly or doze off and recharge your own batteries!
Outside we have a deck surrounding the house with 1750 square feet of safe and secure area for little ones to play and roam - and never be out of site from the kitchen! Or adventure out into the back yard that's always blooming with wildflowers and a host of blueberry bushes ready for picking.
Four Seas Ice Cream, The Centerville Library, and the Penny Candy Store are a short stroll over the bridge or grab a dip net and fishing pole from the garage and see what treasures await you in the river!
Walk across the street to Craigville Beach (Lifeguards in season) or stroll to a nearby conservation beach for a more private swim.
If Movies, Shopping Malls, Restaurants, Whale Watching Boats are your thing they are all within a 3 mile radius!
This is one of the nices beaches on Cape Cod. I learned to swim here, finished the Iron Man here and enjoy walking from Squaw Island to Osterville as often as I can.
Best Ice Cream on the planet! Just a short walk over the crabbing bridge... Great treat before bed for every littleone who finishes dinner. Or a great treat on the way home from the library!

This is the end of Long Beach. The turn around point for a great walk and if you've got a mind to fish... I've done real well with live bait or lures casting here on the out going tide. Good luck
They have great hamburgers but you have to walk in from the beach and pretend you are a member!
Black Beard burried some treasure up this creek... JFK used to walk along Squaw Island across the cut and I've causgt my share of dinners right off this jetty!

Even though our lives have taken us off Cape we get back as often as we can. I love working on the house. I designed the house from the foundation up and I built most everything you see myself or with the help of some very talented local friends and craftsmen. The bookshelves, decks and built-ins are all by hand.
Relaxing to me is adding something hand made to the house while my my family reads and relaxes or plays on the deck.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this amazing home and our incredible vacation experience. David (the owner) made us feel like family from the our first email contact. We shared this wonderful home with 3 other families and felt like we still had room for more! A private retreat for everyone including a place for the kids. Meals were a snap in this state of the art kitchen and plenty of tables and chairs for eating and playing games. Our best area was the beautiful sun room and wrap around deck. We left with the best vacation memories ever. Thank you so much for sharing this home; I know we will be back!!

We just finished a week at this home and it was fabulous! The construction feels new and it is well maintained. It has 3 levels and a ground floor bedroom that was perfect for my mom who is elderly. The bedrooms were spacious and the 7 bathrooms were very convenient for our group of 5. The third floor library and living room is more like a comfortable social hall with a huge flat screen t.v. The views of the ocean from the 2nd and 3rd floors were gorgeous and the deck space was a lot of fun and the kitchen was quite serviceable. The house-wide sound system piped music throughout the house. When the weather turned unpleasant we had plenty to do and space to do it in. Of course, the proximity to Craigville Beach was wonderful and the worlds greatest ice cream -- 4 Seas -- was just a short walk away. We are thinking of doing a family reunion here sometime since it would be perfect for that. Thanks for the great space, David! David B. and family

There are times when you want to pass on memories to your children that will be filled with joy and laughter for a lifetime and finding that location is hard to describe. But we now have those memories, and it's from staying at this gorgeous Drake home in Centreville!! The kids loved all the recommended spots from the Penny Candy Store, to the beaches, and Four Seas ice cream store. They fished the river, walked the beaches, and skipped rocks in the sound for hours on end. If you ever get to the Cape, this is the home from which great memories begin!
