Our home, situated in Alii Kai I Condominium, Princeville, Kauai. It was formerly the model show home for the condiminum. it has features not available in the other units of the complex. It is situated on a large almost completely private piece of prime Kauai oceanview property. All of the windows go down to ground level. Because of the tropical flora there is considerable privacy. There are acres of unobstructed view of tropical landscaped along the coast to the east and north.
The setting is an ecological paradise on a bluff with 160 degree view of the sea, visited by land and sea birds. From the living room and bedrooms one often sees egrets, minah birds,albatross, cardinal, stilts, Javanese Temple Birds, and other tropical sea birds. At certan times if the year whales and dolphins can be clearly seen from the lanai. The Hawaiian native goose, the Nene, frequently come to the lanai for a visit. The tiled floor throughout the house repeats the blue of the sea, adding excitment to the vistas. "Our home is a Rapsody in Blue".
While in a condominium setting, it is more like a separate cottage. It is one story, and easily accessible, and safe for young children and also older folks having difficulty. All rooms have a commanding ocean view. The windows reach to the floor providing a full view of the sea and the lawn area. Off the dining area a door opens to a small private tropical garden great for reading and snacks. Parking is directly in front of the house.
The lawn slopes gently down to just above the sea, and provides a wonderful recreational treat allowing for sea viewing, reading, play area for children, and relaxing or other outside activities.
With the local koa wood paneling in the kitchen and choice decor from the Pacific region, the house maintains an informal feeling, one of quietude and peace. One bathroom has a family size beautifully tiled shower, the other has both a shower and tub. Several aspects of the setting make this an unusually fine homelike environment with an authentic tropical atmosphire to spend ones holidays.
In addition to wildlife viewing from the living room and the lanai in front there are several wild life sanctuaries in the region. Beneath the bluff there are tidal pools and natural lava tunnels. Shopping, services,video renting services, and health care are nearby. This area is well know for its elegant spas. HIGH SPEED INTERNET RECENTLY INSTALLED.
Beaches abound in the area(at least 12) Hanalei two mile long beach is a five minutes drive.
Princeville Center has all the basic shopping needs for a stay here. Hanalei, three miles down the hill has all of the sporting supply stores and wildlife planning offices required to fully engage in the life here.

Year Purchased: 1985
My wife and I purchased this home in the Alli Kai Condo in 1985. We regard it as our personal home and hence have endowed it with all of the comfort of our main home in Berkeley, California where I was a Professor. We travel to Princeville twice a year for several weeks, both for our vacation, but also to ensure it is kept in up-to-date condition. The unique features are its privacy, glorious view, and spacious surroundings. We consider it a
"Rhapsody in Blue" as the blue tile throughout reflects the gorgeous blue of the sea
in front of you.
Why the Owner Chose Alii Kai
For years we had been visiting Kauai and realized we wanted to have a second home there. It was hard to find a place were one could have such a wonderful unobstructed view of the sea, and repose outside with such privacy. We became impressed by the gorgeous landscaping in the surrounding are, the how well this property in maintained.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
Quietude, access to all the resources required for comfortable living, multitude of beaches and scenic place to visit nearby. It is hard to imagine other places where one can view the wild life from ones own lanai, in the comfort of ones own home. The migrating whales, albatross, wild Hawaiian geese, and other tropical birds galore are sights frequently to be seen.

Dear Bob and Evelyn, Thank you for letting us stay in your Condo. We loved the view, the breeze, the plants and the house. It was amazing to be able to wake up and watch the whales surfacing in the ocean. Even the rain is beautiful here. We loved the path to the caves. Your home is wonderful. We had a fantastic time. The week flew by. We were able to watch whales from the backyard and we enjoyed the cave at the bottom of the cliff. We even saw a monkseal sunning on the beach. We loved coming home to your place and relaxing. Thank you, Rachel, Julie and Tawnya
