Richview is a new, luxurious, 4-bedroom, 4-bath home 25 yards from world-famous French Leave Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Bahamas. Richview has spectacular views of the beach and ocean. It is located on the historic Banks Road, the premier location on Eleuthera, a mile from the town of Governors Harbour. The Beach House restaurant is a two-minute walk down the beach, and Tippy's beach restaurant is less than a mile away.

Richview is a stunning mix of old-world charm and modern comforts. Amenities include two full-service kitchens (ideal for groups with multiple families), air conditioning, washer/dryer, WIFI, satellite television, three flat-screen TVs, DVD player with video library, VOIP phone with free unlimited local and international calls, CD sound system, child and adult games, a telescope, a full-capacity generator, and a caretaker on duty.

Richview includes a two-story, three-bedroom main house with an annexed honeymoon suite, for that couple in your group who desire extra privacy. Each section contains its own well-stocked, full-service kitchen. The two sections of the house are always rented together, to only one group at at time, so your privacy is assured. (For smaller groups who do not need a fourth bedroom, the honeymoon suite is simply locked off.) Richview offers great outdoor living space with a huge wrap-around deck with loungers, a gas grill, outdoor dining area, two outdoor showers, a pergola for shade, and an observation deck with spectacular 360-degree views.

You enter Richview into the large Front Hall. This spacious room has a couch, access to the washer/dryer, and sliders to the rear deck. To your right is the computer room (with wifi and VOIP phone) and access to the two first-floor bedrooms. One has a king bed and the other two twins that can be converted to a king. Returning to the Front

Hall, you take the steps to the second floor. Here we have a full kitchen, large dining area, living room (all with BEAUTIFUL beach and ocean views) and a separate queen size bedroom and full bathroom. Off this area, you can enter the sundeck and observation deck. The views from the deck are truly spectacular. The ocean is 25 yards away and you can see 360 degrees of Eleuthera.

Returning to the first floor Front Hall, on your left is the entrance to the one-story honeymoon suite with a king-size bed, living room, full kitchen and large shower/bathroom. All four bedrooms at Richview have private en-suite bathrooms.

Just walk across the street and down our private path, and you’re on the beautiful pink sand of French Leave Beach (also known as Club Med Beach, for the Club Med that was located there many years ago). Richview comes with everything you need to enjoy our beautiful beach, including beach chairs and umbrellas, snorkeling gear, and two outdoor showers.

In addition to the Beach House tapas restaurant and bar (easy walking distance), Tippy’s famous restaurant is just a mile away. Both Tippy’s and the Beach House offer fine dining and live entertainment. Other upscale restaurants within easy driving distance include The Bistro at Sky Beach Club and Cocodimama. The town of Governors Harbour, less than a mile away, has a lovely collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock, or visit the recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, for the weekly coffee hour for foreign residents and tourists. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

Eleuthera is famous for its 100 miles of beautiful beaches which are usually deserted. The island, which is home to just 8000 residents, is completely safe at any time of the day or night. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. There is excellent sightseeing as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, an ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore. We hope you will enjoy our lovely house and beach, and experience all our island has to offer.

Couldn't be better

I've just returned from two amazing weeks in Eleuthera. I made the trip with three friends and Richview was perfect for us. The house is perfectly situated and and is in immaculate condition. It's just close enough to Governor's Harbour without being in town and is within walking distance of one of the island's best beach bars/restaurants: The Beach House. Tippy's, which is as good as The Beach House, is a two minute drive up the road. French Leave beach is 30m away from the front door and is also one of the best on the island. Overall, I cannot recommend Richview highly enough. We would not hesitate to rent it again.

other than the huge leak in the living room when irt rained it was a wonderful home

Owner response:Thanks for the review David. Again, we want to apologize for the issue with the roof. Hurricane Irene effected many homes on the island and we have since found and rectified the source of the leak. Everything is again in immaculate condition and we hope to see you back on the island soon. All the best!

Ideal location, Great for Groups

Guest: Dustin (Northern VA)
Date of Stay: 05/21/11 Review Submitted: 06/14/11

My travel group was made up of repeat visitors to Eleuthera and everyone was impressed with the Richview villa. The location is fantastic. It's just minutes from town and a mile from Tippy's (my favorite on the island). Across the street is French Leave/Club Med Beach, which is shallow for a large distance, and was great for swimming on our trip. The villa itself has everything you could want in a beach house. Outdoor grill, outdoor shower, patio furniture, a rooftop deck, beach chairs, a nice bathroom for each bedroom, hot water, air conditioners, tv, phone, internet, etc. We met the property caretaker on our arrival. She gave us a full tour of the property and told us about changes on the island since our last visit. She also checked in during the week to make sure everything was going well. We met the maintenance man who was available to address any issues, though we had none. The house had been cleaned just prior to our arrival and was in great shape. It looks like the pictures yet roomier in person. Our expections were exceeded and we would absolutely return again.

Birthday Bliss

Guest: Jim (Minneapolis)
Date of Stay: 02/09/11 Review Submitted: 04/07/11

We rented the property to celebrate my wife's birthday. I was bringing in family from all across the US. It was a special occassion and the house was equally impressive and special. The house was well appointed, clean and had everything you could ever want. The location as superb. We became new best friends with the owners of the Beach House which was just about across the street. The beach was equally impressive and we felt like it was our own beach. We had 6 people in the house and it was extremely comfortable. From the bedrooms, to the living room to the various decks it was an excellent combination of everyone having their own space while also enjoying "communal" areas. While the house and the location was excellent, I can't say enough about Geoff and the people he uses in Eleuthera. From making arrangements to be picked up at the airport, to renting a vehicle, to knowing where to go to eat and enjoy the island. They were great. All is all it was a great experience at a great house in a great location. I would highly recommend it. Thank you

Paradise

Guest: Al (Venetia, Pa)
Date of Stay: 07/23/10 Review Submitted: 11/20/10

We visited, 1 couple and a single (me), for 2 weeks last July/ August. The house was beautifully furnished, with all the amenities. It was clean, well looked after. We barbecued steaks ( we brought them frozen in a cooler/ must be frozen, and brough shrimp) a couple times on outdoor gas grill, and cooked breakfasts in the morning. The real estate lady, who met was on time, and helpful, and if we had questions, always could get a hold of her. They have a caretaker guy, who can come over for any type of fixes or issues that would come up. The beach across the road, Club Med beach, beats any beach I have ever been to ( Hawaii, Florida, Carolinas, and we have also stayed at 6 other islands in the Bahamas). This is it, no use to look further. This is a clam bay style beach, not much waves or surf. I like to bonefish, and up the corner of the beach, about 5 minute walk from the house, is a point, with lots of fish of different variety. I caught 3 bonefish their one morning. Great snorkel spot too. The Beach House restaurant, 2 minute walk up the road/ beach, was a welcome stop, sometimes for lunch, or sometimes dinner. Sometimes had DJ / music. Warning, after dark, bring plenty of bug spray at any of the open air bars or restaurants in the area, otherwise, get eaten alive, but with spray, no problem. Club Med Beach(CLub Med was destroyed by hurricane in the late 90's) is maybe 200 yards away from house, across the road, and is about 3/4 mile long, and I took morning walks up and back, never saw more than 2 or 3 people. During mid day, perhaps 5 people on entire 3/4 strip. Going back to house, 2 outdoor showers to get washed off. Main House kitchen and living room/ dining area is upstairs, so if older people come along, must have able bodied people able to climb steps regularly. Lots of nice beach chairs, rafts, toys, coolers, snorkel stuff, everything you need. Just carry across the road. Tippys restaurant could be walked in say 30 minutes along the southern beach, and had great food, and was a favorite dinner spot. Downstairs 2 bedrooms do not have satellite TV, only main house upstairs and honeymoon suite. Sky Beach club is a 10 minute drive away, and a nice place to visit for dinner, and a swim in their infinity pool. Liked to spend Sunday there with the locals. This offer the Atalntic side beach, with waves and some surf. You won't be sorry staying here.

Bliss!

We had a wonderful stay. There were 3 couples & we took the whole house with honeymoon suite. It could not have been better, because each couple had complete privacy & yet the common areas were cozy & perfect for hanging out & sharing meals. The house is beautifully equipped -kitchen, beach chairs, beach toys, wireless. And the French Leave beach across the road is among the most beautiful in the world. I mean knock your socks off gorgeous. There is even a good restaurant within walking distance. Could not ask for more.
