Enjoy oceanfront luxury in this bright, spacious 4 bedroom, 4 bath home---spread out over more than 3,000 square feet---which combines the benefits of a single family home (this is one of the two only private, side-by-side townhomes in the development located in a stand-alone building) with the privileges of belonging to a private, oceanfront community The association club house and surrounding area includes an oversized, heated indoor pool; hot tub; fitness center; heated outdoor pool; tennis courts; basketball; and, childrens' playground---ALL DIRECTLY ACCROSS THE STREET / STEPS AWAY FROM YOUR DOOR.
Arrive at the island by crossing the Intracoastal Waterway by car via Snow's Cut Bridge or by ferry (from Southport, NC) and escape to your own private "resort" on the southern end of the island. (We affectionately call the beach house "Sand Castle.")
Kure Beach has it all - the majesty of beautiful expansive beaches, easy access to "North Carolina's Top-Rated Coastal Golf Courses", and easy access to the culture and history of nearby Wilmington.
So, set your clock to "island time" and spend a week leisurely swimming, surfing, kayaking, deep-sea fishing, golfing, and sightseeing--or--just sit back and relax on the deck and watch the dolphins and pelicans.
The Sand Castle truly is a home, with distinguished decor and features. (Please email or call for available dates not blocked out by onwers.) Returning guests appreciate the bathrooms and kitchen appointed with granite, marble and other luxurious touches---along with new touches added each year. New Decks, carpeting and a granite wet bar were added last year. As noted above, this year we added a larger flat screen tv in the living room, replaced the central a/c, dishwasher, disposal, and ceiling fans; and, added two new kids' bikes.
Sorry, no weddings or group events allowed. Maximum occupancy: 12 (not comfortable for more than 8 adults.)
FOLLOWING IS A FLOOR-by-FLOOR TOUR OF THE HOUSE.
MAIN / 2nd FLOOR
The feature floor provides a wide-open floor plan, with soaring ceilings and a wall of oceanfront windows (15 ft high) that provide stunning, expansive views of the ocean, horizon, and sky above. Two seprate sets of glass doors lead you out to the huge oceanfront deck (15 X 26). You will know that you are in the right place as soon as you walk in the door and the expansive view reveals itself.
What's nice is that, you can enjoy sweeping ocean views from everywhere in the spacious living area---which includes the expansive living room (25 ft wide!), adjoining sun room (seating for 4), adjacent sitting area w/wet bar (seating for 4), and dining room (table with seating for 10, w/adjoining granite kitchen bar with addl seating for 5). The large, open space truly allows everyone to be together--without being crowded--while enjoying the majestic views. Or relax and watch a movie on the new 46" flat screen tv.
Chefs in the family will always be in on the fun while creating meals in the fully-equipped granite kitchen (with truly all the tools a chef needs) along with Kitchen Aid dw and disposal to help with the clean-up. Of course, the best feature of the kitchen is that it is completely open to the living area and shares the fantastic ocean views with the busy chefs.
There is also a large bedroom (king bed), full bath, and laundry room on this floor.
3rd FLOOR
The entire third level is occupied by two bedrooms and two baths. The first bedroom has a queen bed and private bathroom (across the hall) with tub/shower and marble counter-top. The oceanfront master suite features a king bed, sofa, large bathroom (with double sinks and stone counter-top, walk-in shower, soaking tub), walk-in closet with mini-refrigerator, and a private, oceanfront roof-top deck.
1st FLOOR
On the first floor is another large bedroom with a double bed and chairs for lounging; a full bath; and the "kids' suite" which includes a craft area, an open play area with toys for kids of all ages, a tv/dvd, queen futon, and 2 bunk beds along with a walk-in closet.
The front door leads directly to your wooden walkway to the beach and a private outside shower. What we call the "back" door leads to the one-car garage---and parking for a second car on the garden/road side of the house. (Note: Addl parking spaces are available steps away in the adjacent private guest parking lot.
