We loved our stay in this beautiful casa. The layout makes it perfect for a large family gathering. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. We had no problem putting on a full Thanksgiving dinner here. The furniture is comfortable and there are wonderful art and craft treasures everywhere you look. It really is a home away from home. Virginia keeps the casa spotless and is a wonderful cook as well. The location is very convenient to the mercado, the grocery store, many excellent restaurants and Parque Central. Our month visit wasn't long enough! We are already planning another stay.

The first thing to be said is that the photographs accurately reflect the quiet grandeur of this small mansion. After being here for two days, I decided I would be happy to live in Antigua IF I could live here. A most beautiful house, with all you could need for comfortable living and perfectly situated- close to everything but not noisy. Virginia looked after us beautifully and was wonderful with our 1 year old Grandson. Thank you Robin for allowing us to share your beautiful home. We would also like to recommend the wonderful restaurant Como Como where we dined twice.

I spent 3 weeks at this wonderful house during the month of August. The house was so comfortable and convenient to all that Antigua has to offer. Robin was very responsive and helpful during our stay at her house. The property was very clean and well-maintained and child-friendly. The views of the volcanos from the second story patio were just beautiful. I hope to go back and stay there again soon!

We recently spent two weeks at this home, we had a wonderful time, the house is clean, lots of space, with bedrooms that are neat, nicely decorated and roomy for two, each with its own bathroom! It would have been nice to have a private master bathroom (shared with the room next door), but it was still very nice. Close to the market and if you like to walk, you can walk pretty much everywhere. Nice gated community too. We'll be back again, hopefully soon:)

I recently spent two weeks in Casa Bella with five good friends. The home is more lovely than the pictures depict and it is obvious that it is well loved by its owner. The kitchen is large and a good gathering place at the end of the day. We used the dining table nightly and relaxed in the large living room. I particularly liked the openess of the home and the soft breezes blowing through all of the rooms which are large. While there I fell in love with Antiqua and hope to return one day in the future. My plan would have to include staying at Casa Bella.

I came to Guatemala for Februrary and March 2011 to do research and brought my family with me. Over the 2 months we were there, my parents, parents-in-law and friends also came to visit. Everyone thought this was the most beautiful, comfortable home and perfectly located - close to the market, grocery store, and walkable to everywhere in the city. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace, the views of the volcanoes from our bedroom, the flowers in the couryard, and sitting around the bright dining room visiting for hours. We especially appreciated the safety of the community and the friendliness of the neighbours. My 4 year-old daughter walked the dogs of our neighbour in the afternoons with another little girl who was visiting for 2 months; my 2 year-old son ogled the construction trucks working on a house nearby and was often allowed to sit in the driver's seat on morning breaks and honk the horn. And the men at the gate were so kind, phoning us when the fish man from the coast would come by on Mondays so we could buy fabulous fresh fish, or encouraging us to climb onto the gate house roof to get a better view of the Easter processions as they went by. Another highlight was Virginia, a lovely person as well as hard-working housekeeper and excellent cook who everyone, especially my children, immediately liked and learned most of their spanish from. Robin was able to connect me with Alejandro to drive me in and out of the city at least once a week, and he made these trips safe and enjoyable. It was a trip of a lifetime for our family and a large part of that is due to the comfort, safety, and beauty that is part of this home. We hope to return, but may have to book far in advance, as this home is a real favourite for people who also try to return every year!

Our visit for six weeks was a marvelous experience. Part of the time our families joined us, and the house worked positively to accommodate everyone from age seven to seventy seven. A short walk to town from the safety of our gated enclave was a joy. Robin and her staff went out of their way to make sure that we had a pleasant stay. We would love to visit Casa Bella again in the future.

Lots of care and attention has been put into this residence and it shows. Robin was a helpful on all accounts. One of the challenges is just deciding on one or two spots to hang out in this remarkable house, because the choices are many. It is also well located within walking distance of key points in Antigua. I would highly recommend this location and the whole Antigua, Guatemala experience.

We stayed in this beautiful colonial home for almost 2 months. It was the perfect set up for us. Our only disappointment was that it is already booked for next year when we were hoping to return. It would be difficult (if not impossible) to find a more lovely house in a gated community that is so close to the central plaza. There was no need for a car once we arrived at the house since everything is within walking distance. We had friends that rented further outside of Antigua and it was often a problem for them to drive into town and find a parking spot. Highly recommend this rental.

This house is absolutely gorgeous and a wonderful place to relax. We often started our day with coffee on the roof deck and breakfast at the huge dining room table. The bedrooms are super comfortable and are situated in a way that you have privacy and peace. The plants, fountains and courtyard are amazing as well. The house was very safe in a gated community and close enough to walk to markets, restaurants and all the amazing architecture. If you need a driver, Ruben is the best! Robin recommended him to us and he took care of us all week (even an adventure to Guatemala City to replace a passport!). I highly recommend this house.

Wow! We were very impressed with the house lay out. Great view of Volcan de Agua from the street and terrace, also awesome view of Volcan de Fuego and double volcan Acatenango from the upper bedrooms. Owner Robin was very easy to work with. We will rent again this home next time we are in La Antigua.

The photos and description of this lovely home do not do it justice. This colonial style home is both charming and comfortable. The owner has carefully furnished and equipped the property with every possible gadget a comfort seeker may crave. The decor is consistent and in good taste taking advantage of local style and combining it with themed details and accessories which transform the house into a home. We loved the pila style fountain. The small center courtyard surrounding the pila is impeccable. Clock vines, ferns and perfectly groomed St. Augustine grass. The kitchen is well equipped with details such as coffee grinder and a good selection of pans. It was also delightful to find a lovely selection of spices. We loved the outdoor sitting areas on the first and second floor and spent a great deal of time using the swing which overlooks the volcano. All four bedrooms are very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the high quality linens which are very uncommon in Guatemala even in high star hotels. The neighborhood is super safe and very quiet. The property incorporates very thoughtful details which are uncommon and very much appreciated. *Loaner cell phone *Wireless internet *Changing beds and security gates and toy box for babies *Heating plate if you are entertaining *Small book and DVD library. *Washer & dryer with American soap, also two hampers in every room *Fireplace *Lovely lighting If you are a self catering traveler accustomed to a high level of comfort this is the place for you

This is an absolutely wonderful home. It is a quiet part of the city - and is accessible by foot and/or tuk-tuk. The stay of only a few days here with 7 other adults make me want to return again soon. It really was a home away from home. Neat, tidy, absolutely beautiful - what a wonderful place to retreat to each day of our far too short stay in Antigua!

I stayed at Casa Bella for six months in 2008 and loved it. It is a beautiful house with all the comforts of home, plus great views of Volcan Agua and Volcan Fuego. Casa Bella is located in a safe, secure area and anything you need is within walking distance. I enjoyed the place so much that I returned to stay there again this April.

Before we arrived, the owner told me that the pictures on the internet did not do justice to the house. WOW, what an under-statement! This casa(house), and the neighborhood it is a part of, is quite wonderful. We met a number of the neighbors, had drinks and dinner at a quaint little comedor(restaurant) called Hector's, and walked the town & markets every day. In the evenings we enjoyed a number of different restaurants with no concern for safety. Antigua is a great place to get away to and is so economical that it can be used as a base from which to make overnight visits to a number of spectacular locations, such as Tikal, Semuc-Champey, Santiago(Lake Atitlan). More specific to the house, it is quite adequate for a large family or 2-3 couples. The shared living space lends itself to entertaining or just hanging out. Do yourself a favor and take advantage of this unique location and a country full of very friendly people.

I was lucky enough to spend three FABULOUS weeks at Casa Bella in January of 2009. The home was impecably maintained and well appointed. The living area featured plenty of space to spread out and I found it perfectly suited for entertaining. The upstairs terrace provided me with an amazing view of the volcano and surrounding mountains. I enjoyed morning coffee on the balcony off the master and can't describe the effects that the rising sun had on the mountains to the west of the home. I could not be happier with the service I received from Virginia (the housekeeper) and Robin (the homeowner) was a pleasure to work with. I was pleased and surprised to receive a phone call from her shortly after my arrival to ensure that I was settling in ok. The kitchen is fully equipped and Virginia served some excellent meals. I had some friends over for wine and appetizers and was pleased to see that she took the time to put a fire in the fireplace. Her attention to detail was great! The neighborhood was very secure and everyone that I met was very pleasant. The location was great and I quickly learned how to navigate the city. I awoke in the morning to the faint sounds of the city in the distance. Very pleasant. If considering a stay in Antigua you will not be disappointed with a visit to Casa Bella!!! I studied Spanish dirng my stay and even left some study materials if you are doing the same. I recommend the Academia Antiguena if you are looking for a school. Great instructors and a pleasant atmosphere. The home is close enough to come back to Casa Bella for lunch as I did almost every day.

Pictures and photos do not do casabella justice. It is a modern, dignified, and graceful home, with all ameneties. It was safe and private, and my family, grandchildren, etc, all had a great time.

I had the privilege of living in this beautiful home with my daughter Eliana for over a month!! The second you walk in the doors....you feel like you are at home. The views are AMAZING....and the decor is fabulous. It would make a wonderful place to vacation or a perfect place to call home for a few months!! We were sad to leave!

Great place to stay for a week or months! This house is very clean, comfortable, quiet, and secure. Just a few blocks from the markets, grocery store, restaurants, and fun of Antigua, with the calmness of a gated neighborhood. Sunny and spacious. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here!

I stayed here for 8 months this year. It is a beautiful and very comfortable home with amazing views of Volcan Agua and Volcan Fuego. The location is perfect- very safe and within walking distance to the market, central park, historic ruins and amazing restaurants. Antigua is a quaint city with much to see and do and a great "home spot" if you want to do day excursions to other parts of Guatemala. I highly recommend this rental!
