February 2012 An AMAZING 5 day getaway with friends and our horses for a memorable cowgirl clinic! The beautiful grounds were lush and the home was warm and inviting. Everything we needed was there no reason to leave the property. The barn was clean and well maintained and our horses were well taken care of! Steven and Diana were amazing host and hostess we felt right at home. I would recommend this property for a vacation getaway for horse lovers or not! The Polo fields are close and you can catch an exciting Polo event. Im looking forward to our next clinic later this year!!! Till then

The weekend of December 10th, my family and I had the amazing opportunity to stay at Sereno Ranch. The ranch has everything you could possibly imagine to make everyone, of all ages, happy... It's is so peaceful, and relaxing, but fully equipped to be entertaining as well. The house is beautiful and well maintained. My family and I look forward to returning, and I will be telling all of my friends about this gem of a place...

We came to the ranch with all our family to have a wonderful time with our children and grandchildren. It was all we wanted it to be. Everytone had a marvelous time enjoying everything on the ranch. The horses were incrediable as was the barn and all the land around it. We would love to experience this again and perhaps next time take our friends with us. Steve is an excellent cook and treated us all very well. He even smoked our turkey for Thanksgiving which was the best. Merry Christmas

LUCKY! It is the only word that describes our finding this location. We plan many trips a year so I have a fair share of horror stories but this is not one of them. I figured if I had a great one I should tell people. Our group of friends recently held a reunion and we were very fortunate to get to spend it with Diana & Steve. We had 23 but the property could easily accomidate a larger or smaller party. Everything we encountered was better than described, we never even left the property! There is something for everyone & everyage. The pool & the outside kitchen are my favorites but, the view is a close third. The accomidations were very well appointed & the mattresses are the most comfortable I have ever found in a rental property. The kitchen...wish mine looked like that, everything you could possibly need to cook for a large group and still have fridge space left over. Seriously, we have yet to have experienced such lovely hosts. Not invasive at all, in fact we went looking for them! Steve knows all the golf courses & had a small green down by the large outdoor fire place & game tables. Which the guys loved & Diana makes a mean Margherita. If your real lucky Steve will give you the secrets of the "Green Egg". It is perfect and if Steve or Diana ever reads this, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!!!! We hope to stay with you again. V

Such an idyllic place to spend time for some R and R. So peaceful and so relaxing. The huge house has all of the amenities of home and more so. It is a truly a custom built house with special touches throughout both architecturally and with the interior furnishings and decorations, all maintained meticulously. We used the kitchen which seem to have everything a professional chef might need to put on a big party, and certainly much more amenities than we have in our own home. (We are thinking about having our friend who makes wine do a winemaker dinner party here next spring and bring in our own caterer). We also used the outside barbque and kitchen. The way its set up, you just wish that you had organized a party for your 20 favorite friends, which i understand is ok for a small extra fee -- it would be worth every penny. Outside, what can you say, with a pool that has fountains coming out of it, a Jacuzzi, and a 4 hole putting green. We used the pool table and ping pong tables too!. The house is situated on a large property My favorite time was outside really early in the morning and really late at night. You can stare at the sky for hours and listen to the horses (of which there are 20 or so throughout the property) move around and talk in the still night air. The Innkeepers, Steve and Diana are the kind of genuine people that we just wish there were more of in this world. Super accommodating, super helpful and knowledgeable about all of the things to see and do in Palm Desert, Cochella, Indio, Salton Sea (don't miss that!), and of course Palm Springs with its Thursday Night Farmers Market (don't miss that either).

Would have to say this place was magical. The grounds are so large and green. You have gorgeous horses in the background make you feel like you are one with nature. A cooks dream kitchen fully equipped to cook dinners for your whole party. A gorgeous pool with fire lining the top of the pool, very romantic. Fun toys: air hockey, table hockey, putting green, outdoor music. The house is totally luxurious and up to date. On top of an amazing vacation the owners of the property were so helpful, sweet and generous. I would go back again for sure!!!

I booked this property for my 10th Wedding anniversary. When we arrived, we were amazed at how much better the house and grounds were in person! The property is amazing, and the views are fabulous. We especially liked watching the horses grazing nearby, and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets from the outdoor kitchen patio. At first we were apprehensive that the caretakers reside on the same property, but in the end, we appreciated their occasional visits to touch base with us, and see if there was anything that we needed. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone wanting to enjoy the Desert. The outdoor game area would be a bonus for families with children.
Owner response:Lauren, Congratulations again on 10 years! A milestone indeed. We hope that your stay here was everything and more than you expected. Please don't wait another 10 years before visiting again.. Happy Renting! Diana

Owner response:Taylor, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feelings about our Vacation Rental property. It was interesting to note that you used the term 'Resort"... I think of it often as a Private Ranch Resort" too.. We have tried to pattern the ammenities and furnishings similiar to the fine resorts that we have had the opportunity to stay in and enjoy. In fact, whenever we travel now, we are always looking for good ideas to bring back to the Desert and incorporate here for our guests. Please come back, and stay a bit longer! Diana

My family and I are so glad that we chose Serano Ranch as our vacation destination in July. Our experience was wonderful. We awoke each day to sunshine and a view of the ranch surrounded by majestic mountain ranges and the beautiful Arabian horses which reside there. The ranch itself was truly a "Gentlemen's Ranch", Five Star in every way from the beautiful luxerious home we inhabited to the most gracious hosts who were willing to fulfill our every wish. My husband enjoyed the putting green while the kids enjoyed the pool and spa and numerous games and activities. Me, I spent a great deal of my time relaxing and visiting with the horses. I can't wait to return and have shared my experieince with our church who may do a retreat there.

Our rustic "cowboy" dream came true in "diamonds n denim" style at your LaQuinta ranch! The location was perfect for our entire family to unite and join in a week of fun and relaxation. Even the golfers and shoppers came home early! The food was GREAT, the accomodations exceeded our expectations and the atmosphere was incredible! We will be back!

I have been organizing a guys golf trip for last 20 years and we have been everywhere from Kapalua in Hawaii to Bandon Dunes. One thing that has always been lacking is our ability to all be together during our non-golfing times. Most of us see each other once or twice a year and so the golf is secondary to connecting. This property was absolutely perfect and our group felt it was the best trip we have ever had. Not only was the weather perfect but our hosts, Steve and Diana went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and all of our needs were met. They provided our dinners and breakfast each day. Had ping pong, foosball and pool tables set up for the goup. Ordered and picked up pizza one night and all of our groceries for making lunches, etc. It was as stress free as possible and they were right there whenever we needed anything. The property was immaculate and having the horses present gave it a very relaxed feel and beauty that we all enjoyed. Steve organized all of the golf and with his connections saved us a ton of money ( I think we paid half of what it would have cost us booking on our own) and one day when we were short a golfer we asked him to step in and play with us which he did. You'll have to ask him how he and his partner did! I would book this property again in a heartbeat!
Owner response:Chris, Thank you for sharing your experience and feelings here on VRBO. As you now know, we approach Vacation Rental with enthusiasm and professionalism. We take each booking seriously, as we know that there are many choices to pick from here in the Desert. We always go the extra mile to ensure that your stay here is perfect in every way. Golf is Steve's passion, so it was enjoyable for him to share his favorite courses and to coordinate the Tee Times for your group. I am glad that he could save you so much money in the process, and it was nice of you to include him in one of your rounds. The Bunkhouse will be done this Fall, so when you come again, you will be able to bring MORE friends with you to experience "the Ranch". Take care! Diana

Do yourself a favor and book this beautiful place! We stayed here for a week during stagecoach and couldn't have been more pleased. The place was very well maintained and the hosts were great people. It is in a very private setting and we used the outdoor kitchen most of the time. It is very well equiped with everything you could possibly want. There is a beautiful pool, pool table, foosball table, air hockey table, full outside bar, pitch and putt green, outdoor music with XM radio. We were having a hard time going to the concerts becuase we were having such a great time at the Ranch. Steve and Diana were awesome to work with. We are also pet owners and their dogs would come over and hang out with us. It helped us from missing our two dogs so much. I really couldn't imagine finding a better place to spend a relaxing week. Thank you Steve and Diana for such a great experience! We will be returning again!
Owner response:Scott, We enjoyed your group of friends as much as you enjoyed the Ranch. We are still talking about how awesome your cooking was, and we often try to duplicate your recipes that you shared with us. It is too bad that it is so inconvenient to fly your big dogs from Alaska, so that they too could hang out here for a week! See you next year! Steve and Diana

In April I put together a "guys" trip to the desert for a golf event in the La Quinta area for a group of 16 golfers.I wanted something that would easily accomodate everyone without having a "cramped" feeling. I can't say enough about the property and the owners. The property offers a GREAT layout, (adjacent to the "polo" grounds and 5 to 10 minutes from PGA West,) completely designed around the idea to take advantage of the beautiful "grounds" for outdoor parties and events (weddings, corporate retreats, etc.). The "grounds" are in great condition, (a large layout) which will easily accomodate 50 to 150 guests...The primary residence is pretty well stocked for hosting large parties or if one just wants to relax, the pool, jacuzzi, and grounds, all make for an great get- a-way after golf... ( I understand that a putting green is a recent addition along with a pool table, poker table, etc. ) The kitchen / cooking area layout is designed to take advantage of the large covered patio and pool area in the "backyard" which basically offers another cooking station (permanent Bar-B-Que) grills, heating stations, "prep" stations,etc... all of which which are immediately adjacent to a great outside Bar / referigator, etc... The main house is very well decorated, will probably sleep 10 people comfortably with the ability to sleep more if the need arises. Everyone that came out for the 3 day golf event loved the property and said that they would definately want to plan a return trip to this residence. The owners reside on the "grounds" in a seperate residence and completely respected our privacy by staying out of our way unless we asked for their assistance. They were very accomodating to our needs and helped us out with their knowledge of the area for golf and resturants. If you are considering an "event," or for that matter want a "retreat" that offers a relaxing poolside get-a-way on a property offering siginificant privacy, I would definately recomend this residence.

Why are you reading this? Didn't you read the title? Just go on to the next property. Really, go....... Fine, I'll explain. We rented this house for a hefty price, looking forward to a relaxing Coachella week on this "luxurious 5 acre oasis". Not luxury. Not oasis. Not private. Not good. The first thing we were told was that if the neighbors asked, we should say we are "friends of the owners", not renters. Um, why? The house is small and was either designed by MC Escher, or a 5th grader. In order to get to the extremely small kitchen, you must walk through the master bedroom. We had 25 people in our group, and the house slept 10, so to accommodate we asked for the "luxury" trailers. However, the pictures they sent of the trailers were way nicer than the trailers we actually received. The trailers had AC, but we were told not to run all of them because a fuse would blow. The trailer showers did not have hot water, the trailers were in poor repair ,and there were holes in the floor. They might have been luxury 25 years ago. Might. So, this makes for a negative experience, but all of this is really pretty minor compared to the lack of privacy we had. The owners were in and out of the house all week, unannounced, and complained about everything we did. The house they resided in was 50 yards away, and there was also a dumpster-like office (with a roof) just off the rental house driveway that was used as the rental headquarters. There were various workers, cars, and golf carts in and out of the property, and these employees would also come into the house, also unannounced, and grab supplies for other clients. There were other issues....Dogs in the house...hot tub didn't work..workers using a loud power tool on the property because construction was not done upon our arrival. Trailers were also not there the first day, and we were not prorated...AC in the house didn't work when we arrived....the driver they set us up with for the concert dropped off random people at the house. Then at the end of the week the proprietors attempted to keep $1070 from our security deposit. One of the charges being "Bathrobe tie missing $150". Why any of us would use their bathrobe, or steal the tie, is almost as baffling as how a terry cloth rope could cost $150. Another charge was for the dry cleaning of the blankets their dogs slept on. We as a group have rented over 20 properties through VRBO and had nothing but great experiences, until this one. This property is not recommended.

Our five kids didn’t want to leave and neither did we. All the outdoor game options, the pool, and visiting with their new-found four-legged friends kept our children happily occupied. I recently celebrated my wedding at the ranch and I cannot say enough about it. From the amazing couple, Steve and Diana, that own the property, to the overall amazing experience we had here. If you want to have a beautiful, peaceful and magical wedding this is the place to do it. My guests and the wedding party have not stopped talking about the relaxing atmosphere and beautiful scenery that the ranch provides. Having my wedding there was a VACATION. We did not want to leave. Diana worked with me for months supporting us every step of the way in the planning process. And Steve was always there to lend a hand in anything we needed help with. This place and these people are truly amazing. We could not have had a wedding if it wasn't for them. The ranch is a dream come true. From the moment you walk inside that gate you are blown away. I imagine I will hear about our wedding for years to come. Everything was PERFECT! Thank you so much.

A spectacular time was had by all when we stayed at this Oasis for a week! The awe inspiring sunsets were truly breathtaking, and the ammenities were plush and inviting. Our kids enjoyed the numerous Table Games and Lawn Games, as well as the Pool and Putting Green. The best part of the property were the beautiful horses that resided on the well maintained grounds. They are quite a site, and the owners let us feed and bathe the horses- a first for all of us! I would definately reccomend this prperty to groups that want to experience first class lodging and exceptional service. You will not ne dissapointed.

What wonderful memories that we will treasure for life! The moment we saw Serena Ranch, we knew we found the perfect spot for a wedding reception. Paul and I want to thank you, Steve and Dianna you will always be special to us. We would also like to mention that Jennifer, your event coordinator is awesome! She is very professional with a calm demeanor, very creative and funny, made me laugh when I was feeling nervous! We were very comfortable with Dianna and Jennifer and their staff handling all the details of our wedding reception. It has been four months...and we still glow when talking about our special day at the ranch and remembering the weekend with family and friends who stayed with us at the ranch. Our guests still talk about what a wonderful time they had...I see the sparkle in their eyes and a big smile when they talk about it being one of the best wedding receptions they have been to in their lifetime. Steve and Dianna went beyond our expectation in making our day "Extra Special"! The day after the reception (Sunday) our family/friends were treated to a day at the ranch with Bloody Mary’s and breakfast served by Dianna and Steve, everyone was having so much fun, nobody wanted to leave. Our pictures turned out great, especially when the fire pit was on during the cake cutting event. We would like to talk to you about hosting another event soon! We will be contacting you soon.

Having been blessed to travel in abundance across a many borders in a lifetime that spends well beyond 35 years,we have never found ourselves engulfed by natural splendor as we did during our Experience here. Aside from the almost spiritual like experience our stay could not have been any better. I do not recall an experience where I felt so closely associated to the rawness and pureness of nature,as we got to eat breakfast amongst grazing equestrian beauty of a rarity that pretty much tops any view we have had the pleasure to enjoy over our lifetime. We were most impressed by the personal touches left us all over and during our stay, welcoming us to a sanctity all our own even as it was only one that was temporary,it was an experience we will never forget and can not wait to revisit. I highly recommend this unique Equestrian / Desert experience to anyone that is looking to escape CITY MADNESS. We could not have found better therapy than to be surrounded by this here Amazing and Fabulous experience involving Mountain Majetics ,Desert Calm and Equeatrian Bliss......JUST PRICELESS !!! I cannot wait to revisit all the above and look forward to expose as many of our friends family and Business associates to this experience as we are determined to make this our anual stop in oreder to recover from our hectic lives. Nice house but over rated and smaller than shown as ! Master bedroom is directly into the kitchen! For everything you do there is an extra charge and the owners leave you little privacy!
Owner response:Kenvin, I am sorry to hear that you were so disillusioned with our home. If you were unhappy with the floor plan, it would have behooved you to have not unpacked, asked for a refund, and to have found lodging elsewere. It would only be fair to the VRBO readers to hear exactly what the "extra" charges were for in your case... 1) There was a Legal Contract sighned stating clearly that NO PETS were allowed on this property without written permission. You in essence did not declare or admit that you planned on traveling with a pet. Our policy is to charge a nominal Pet Fee so that the Bedroom carpets can be professionally steam cleaned upon your departure. You arrived with a dog, and did not want to pay the Pet Fee, so we asked that your dog stay out of the house, and sleep in the car. The ambient temperatures were mild, and this was YOUR decision to not pay the fee and leave the dog in the car at night. 2) You were advised in advance of arriving at this property that should you desire to have a company Cocktail Party and/or Dinner Party for more than 20 people, that there would be an Event Fee, as well as additional cleaning charges. You elected to not have your party after trying many times to negotiate the fees for such a extra event. We quoted you less than half of our posted rates, and you still found them to be unacceptable. Again- the choice was YOURS.... 3) You inquired about bringing 2 horses with you to enjoy while you stayed here at the Ranch. Of course there is a fee for such a service- it is called "Board". I quoted you a rate well below the local average going rates. If my prescence here on the 5 acres left you feeling intruded on, I have very little to say except for that I always try to respect our guests feelings, and their right to privacy. With over one million dollars worth of Arabian Show horses on the property, it would be unusual for me to be off of the property for any length of time. I hope that you have a more enjoyable VRBO rental experience in the near future. Diana Lazzarini Proprietor

Our company has planned events there, and each time we are treated very well. If any questions arrived, they were taken care of right away. This private property is not only incredibly beautiful but comfortable as well. Every time we have planned our events at Sereno Ranch, we feel like we are at home and this feeling is carried onto the guests as well. When planning your next event, look no further then Sereno Ranch to host.
