Taylor Beach House is a custom built, octagonal house newly completed in December, 2008. It is located in Paradise Cove on the exclusive eastern end of the island in the Trade Winds development. It's close enough to town to explore new sights but far enough away to give you the privacy that you are looking for.
It has three bedrooms with private, attached bathrooms. Two are on the main level of the house and the third is a master suite on the top floor. Both levels have wrap-around covered decks offering 360 degree views of the island and the top cupola deck hosts views of the mainland's purple mountains, sister island Roatan, funky Utila town, sunrises and spectacular sunsets.
Built by arguably the finest carpenter in the Bay islands, it is constructed from indigenous woods with incredible attention placed on craftsmanship and quality. You can appreciate the dramatic herringbone woodwork on the walls and ceilings, the exposed beams throughout the house, the custom Mayan inspired light scones and extensive intricate woodwork on the ceiling of the master suite on the third floor.
The three bedrooms, with private baths, have custom made platform queen beds with ample closet space. Each room is cooled by your choice of A/C, ceiling fans or the prevalent trade winds.
The bathrooms boast art glass vanity sink bowls, walk-in-showers with bench seating and dramatic tile designs throughout. Only the finest linens and towels are provided for our discerning guests.
You will enter the house into a custom kitchen with unique tiled floors, counters and walls that give the room an indoor patio feel. The open floor plan of the great room is cooled by the vaulted ceiling and fans.
Take a five minute walk from the deck to the ocean shore and enter a snorkeler's paradise. A small iron shore island immediately off the beach creates an aquarium like environment with clear, warm water teeming with a variety of fish, fans and corals.
Taylor Beach House is the perfect luxury retreat to restore, relax and refresh your mind, body and spirit. It is perfect for couples, families and close friends traveling together looking for that peaceful corner of the Caribbean. For a time, you'll be living in an island paradise.

If you are looking for a clean, beautiful, affordable house with ALL the comforts of home to rent in Utila, you must consider the Taylor Beach House. Kitchen has all the cooking utensils and pans to prepare your meals. Large bedrooms (3) with private baths and AC. The LARGE front deck is a wonderful place to enjoy morning coffee or an evening beverage. Hammocks are available to hang on the porch. The Taylor's have put together a very useful information guide with their recommendations for restaurants, diving and shopping. Check it out as soon as you arrive at the house. Complimentary Rum and Coke on your arrival to the house!! My only complaint...there are no chairs on the master balcony. This upper balcony provides 360 views of the island and a great breeze, but I could not park myself there without a chair. Trivial, I know. JJ and Tina were available to answer our questions and even made arrangements for our golf cart rental. The house exceeded our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Located in the quiet Tradewinds Development, we were within walking distance to two beautiful beaches and friendly neighbors, but then again, everyone on the island is friendly. Located about a 20-25 minute walk from the center of town, I would recommend that you consider bike, golf cart, or 4-wheeler rental for your stay. Taxis are available and affordable. I would (and did for the second time) dive with only Bay Island College of Diving (BICD). There are many dive shops to choose from so shop around, but I highly recommend BICD as your first and last look. Food recommendations include pizza at the Mango Inn, shrimp kabobs at Munchies, burgers at the Driftwood. Snorkeling at Jilly's is a must. Paddleboarding with Andi is highly recommended by my daughter. Drinks are always refreshing at Utila Lodge with their large deck, screened-in bar, and friendly staff. Cinnamon buns at Camillia's, Thompson's, or Lydia's II (across from BICD). Bush's for grocery shopping. I would highly recommend the Taylor Beach House to friends and family as a home away from home.
