The Burnt Fork Guesthouse is a bright, eclectic, comfortable, Non-Smoking, guest retreat situated in the gorgeous Bitterroot Valley, just four miles east of Stevensville, with fantastic views of the Bitterroot Mountain Range, surrounded by horse pasture, and within earshot of the babbling Burnt Fork Creek.
This quiet country haven is a perfect home base while experiencing the many attractions the Bitterroot Valley has to offer. Whether it be a quiet get-away for two or a gathering of the whole clan, the Burnt Fork Guesthouse is the place to make fantastic future memories year after year. Start your day with a glorious sunrise, along with home-baked breakfast bread, fruit, coffee, and tea provided by your hosts Karen and David. Time to plan the day!
Your choices are abundant: blue-ribbon fishing, hiking or biking the surrounding Bitterroot and Sapphire Mountains, floating or kayaking any of three rivers, some historic sleuthing along the Lewis and Clark Trail, in local museums, and at St. Mary’s Mission (first white settlement in Montana), frolicking at one of the many local summer festivals, browsing antique shops and art galleries, visiting the farmer’s market, birdwatching at famous Lee Metcalf and Teller Wildlife refuges, playing a round of golf, or relaxing in the sunshine on our spacious lawn or the shade of willow trees. Wintertime visitors can enjoy some of the closest, deepest, softest (and most affordable!) snow in Montana, snowshoe or ski 100’s of miles of forest trails, do some hunting, or partake of the many local holiday season festivities.
End of the day! Knowing the value of a well-stocked kitchen, the Burnt Fork Guesthouse provides all the equipment you need to prepare a meal at home, or if you need a treat, we can recommend one of the many fine restaurants in the valley. It feels great to have a private, quiet place to come home to after a long day of adventure.
In the evening, settle in for a movie or go into town for great local theater. On the first Friday of each month, Stevensville rolls out the red carpet with gallery openings, wagon rides, and loads of evening entertainment. 30 minutes to the north, Missoula is a regional center for shopping, dining, and recreation. And of course, you can always stare up at the spectacular display of stars, drink in the country quiet, count your blessings, and hit the hay early!
