Owner's Profile

Why the Owner Chose Tahoe City

Lake Tahoe is unparallel to any other destination I've been to in the world. The skiing in the wintertime is suburb, the beaches at the Lake in the summertime is liked being in Hawaii. White sand and crystal blue water. The weather is perfect and concussive to doing anything you want outdoors, year-around..

The Unique Benefits of this House

The location and privacy. Homeowners and their guests have access to a private parking lot right across the street from the Sherwood lift at Alpine Meadows. You can walk there from the house, or park there and hop on the lift! There is also a warming hut by the lift that serves BBQ, hot chocolate, beer, etc and lots of chairs
scattered that allows you to soak up the sun and be a spectator instead of participant.
I like both seasons. The skiing speaks for itself, but in the summertime there are tons on trails to explore around the house. Page Meadows is a popular trail system located a block away. The house is just up from the Lake at Sunnyside Resort which has a great restaurant with huge deck on piers right on the lake. You can spend all day here watching the wooden boats come in for a beverage or dining. You can access the bike path here and ride to River Ranch which is a beautiful ride along the Truckee River. Once you get to River Ranch, you can enjoy another great deck for dining while watching the river rafters come in. Rafting is a fun thing to do also.
Tahoe City has lots of restaurants and shops to enjoy. There is always something going on there to add to a weekend.
Even though there are tons of things to visit in Lake Tahoe, I totally enjoyed just hanging out in the house and on the deck. You really feel away from it all, but are close to everything.Plus...the views from this house are incredible both in the wintertime and summertime

Not only was the location perfect, the house was perfect. You can't get much better than to be close enough to walk to the slope AND to have a private parking lot there!! Being in Tahoe City was a real plus...we were close to the restaurants and shops, and went to Sunnyside Resort for afternoon delights daily. This is just down the street and right on the lake. It was so relaxing to be here...we got the total effect of the mountains here but were close to everything. Had a blast at this cabin, LOVED the fact that the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook with, felt like home & the beds was sooo comfy. The living area had spectacular views and sunny deck that we used often. It didn't snow while we were there, so had a great time lounging on the deck, reading the paper in the sun. It was so relaxing to be here...we got the total effect of the mountains here but were close to everything. It took me a month to talk my wife into going to Lake Tahoe, now all she talks about it going back here. Thanks Sandy, for letting us stay at your wonderful home!

Incredible Property

Our family has stayed in the beautiful home in Tahoe City twice (summer and winter). The location is perfect, easily accessible, and with stunning views of the majestic mountains of Twin Peaks. We were lucky enough to stay here this Spring Break for unbelievable skiing, and loved every minute of it! The home is nicely decorated and maintained, down to every detail. It is well appointed, and spacious enough to accommodate several families without feeling crowded. Loved the kitchen (pre-stocked, they thought of everything), and the expansive living area with a beautiful fireplace has mountain views Hard to beat the decks at this house, which overlook the mountains, perfect for barbeques and soaking up the sun. The hot tub has its own deck and was perfect touch at the end of the day. During the summer, the wildflowers in this area are simply spectacular and we hiked, explored, went to town (quick access) and returned to enjoy drinks and dinner with amazing sunsets. The owner is wonderful, gracious, and have thought of everything! We’ve stayed at numerous ski destinations, hotels, and VRBOs, and this is by far our favorite!!

Great house!

What a lovely home! The area the house is located is beautiful, quiet, and our party didn't find too many reasons to leave. Lots of bedrooms, however I didn't realize the 6th bedroom is the loft where the pool table is located. The room was fine for two small children, but with the low ceilings its a bit tricky for adults. The beds were soft and comfortable, and there were enough bathrooms for everyone. The hot tub and sauna were a real plus. The four head shower room was rather tricky and took a lot of time to figure out. Our party was rather large and we had plenty of bedrooms, but living room area was a bit tight. All in all the house is lovely, in a great location. If i had a gripe it was the pool table. This was on my list of priorities for finding a rental, and the loft is not a suitable place to play. The table itself is very cheap and off center, and with the low ceiling there was more than one bump on the head. It works better as a great room for kids. The kitchen was also fully stocked and more than enough to make big meals for everyone. We had a wonderful time and made lasting memories.

Winter Wonderland

We had a great stay at this property. The house was warm and comfortable and we felt very lucky to be there when 2 feet of snow fell and the town was a winter wonderland. The owner could not have been nicer or more helpful. My emails were returned incredibly quickly when i had a question or asked for a late check-out. We had 4 familiys with a small dog and the house was a perfect size for us. We had small kids and it was so convenient to drop them off at the lift and come home. The house was well appointed: lots of kitchen stuff, some cool Lake Tahoe decor, nice towels. We would return to the same house without shopping around for other options. It was a good value and a fabulous location. Thank you for a great 5 days in Lake Tahoe.

This was the best home yet for our annual spring skiing trip with the guys. Awesome chalet style house, views, and we all were really comfortable here. We cooked our meals here and found everything we needed. LOTS of snow and we couldn't get enough skiing in.

We love this place! It is perfectly located just off the slopes right by the Sherwood lift at Alpine Meadows. Nothing quite compares to finishing your day skiing into the backyard, clicking out of your bindings, and heading straight for the hot tub! The rooms are beautifully decorated, and there's tons of sleeping space, equally divided over the 3 floors. The top floor great room have awesome views. This a great place for one large family, or several vacationing together. We're a big family, and it worked great for us. Can't say enough about this place. I highly recommend it!!!

We have been going to Lake Tahoe for over 20 years and are now repeat quests at this home. Without a doubt, this is the nicest home that we have stayed in. The layout, number of bathrooms, the bedding as well as all of the rest of the amenities make this an ideal place for multiple couples or families. This past season, we had 4 couples for part of the week and a 5th couple for part of the week and there was plenty of room and privacy for all. We will never stay anywhere else! Thank you!

Date of Stay: 03/01/10 Review Submitted: 04/11/10

My family and friends stayed here for 1 week in March. We walking into the "the Great room" and was amazed at the views from the deck and the whole room!. The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen stocked with all the kitchen gadgets we needed, and the sauna and hot tub were a real plus. We skiing all day and it was bliss to chill in the tub. The skiing was fantastic. There is a homeowners parking lot that we had a pass for when we didn't want to walk to the lifts. We could just park the car and walk right across the street to get on the lift. There is also a warming hut with bbq and beer at lunch, but some of our non skiers enjoyed having coffee there in the morning and just watching the skiers. It is located in Tahoe City, on the back side of Alpine Meadows, so it was a lot closer to the lake and downtown Tahoe City. The house was super quiet with all the house in this area divided by forest land. We really felt like we were in Lake Tahoe with all the pines, yet close to stores and restaurants. We plan on coming back this summer to enjoy the Lake. It is 3 miles from the Lake on the West Shore, and close to Chambers Landing which is our favorite beach. It is also close to the bike paths so we're bringing our bikes. Great home, can't wait to come back to this. Greg and Ruth
