In Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, China Doll offers three complete self-contained apartment suites with private entrances. There is a two room one bedroom unit that can sleep up to 6 people, one six room two bedroom unit that can sleep up to 8 people, and one six room two bedroom unit that can sleep up to 6 people.
Designed as corporate apartments, the in-unit office areas include a computer with MS Office, high-speed cable Internet access, scanner, black-and-white laser printer, photocopier, CD writer, and fax machine. The building has WWIFI. The smaller unit has a conference room that seats four and is equipped with a wall-mounted television with computer hook-up.
We also tend to your personal comfort. Each apartment has a private two-person Jacuzzi and steam room (robes and slippers provided). Entertainment consists of premium cable TV, VCR with a library of movies, DVD player, stereo, and CD player can be enjoyed either in front of the fireplace or in bed. During nice weather enjoy the deck and private garden.

Why the Owner Chose Lincoln Park
We renovated one of the apartments in the building as our home and decided to hold out another apartment as our guest bedroom suite. We have since moved to a condo about a block away and now offer all three apartments as vacation rentals
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
We live just a block away so we are much more responsive than the typical rental "agent".
We are just 3 blocks from the Briar Street Theater, home of the Blue Man Group.
There is a very nicely equipped children's playground just a block away.
Chicago's favorite dog park is just a few blocks away at 2645 N. Sheffield. After a hard day of play our canine guests can come home the plush doggie beds at China Doll.
Home of the Chicago Cubs is a pleasant one mile walk from China Doll with plenty of watering holes along the way.
Owner's Map of Lincoln Park
Yanan is the Chinese "Mom" of China Doll. She came to the United States in 1989. We met in Chicago in 1998 but returned to Beijing for our wedding. Her life in China included 7 years as an opera singer in the entertainment corps of the People's Liberation Army. We have been running China Doll Guest House since 2001.

We were delighted with our stay at the China Doll Guest House. They thought of everything - soap, shampoo, computer paper, water bottles, umbrellas. You name it, they had it. Better yet, it was clean and the kitchen is spectacular. We celebrated our grandson's first birthday there and a good time was had by all - from those less than a year to those over 80 years.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

China Doll is an excellent value and wonderful place to stay in Chicago. For anyone considering an extended trip to Chicago, there is no better option. Located in north Lincoln Park, close to public transportation and major roadways, it is a quiet hideaway in a vintage Chicago neighborhood. The accommodations are top notch, with a wonderful kitchen, dining area, sleeping and bathing accommodations, and pleasant amenities. Secure, off street parking is available. The owner are attentive to their guests needs and immediately responsive when help is needed. This is a five-star experience.

We (family of 8)stayed in the Coachhouse in September 08 and it was FABULOUS! Very comfortable, well appointed and spotless. The Breakfast food provided was generous and tasty, and the location was very convenient. We loved it, and would definatly go back.

Thank you for providing a home away from home! Hotel? Never again! You exceeded our greatest expectations, and the China Doll will be at the top of our visit for our next trip to Chicago and referrals of our friends and family. We came for a Police concert and enjoyed the apartment so much more!

My 2 daughters and I come to Chicago every year at this time and never before have we had such wonderful accomodations!! We've also stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels throughout the country with our family travels. China Doll is fantastic and we hope to stay here agian next year. The hosts are wonderful and thought of everthing necessary for an enjyable stay.

Their hospitality was kind, but not intrusive. As a computer consultant, the complete office set up and high-speed internet conncetion enabled me to keep in touch with my office when necessary. We would love to take the kitchen and bath home with us! The location in the city is perfect and enabled us to leave our car parked and walk to most of the places we wanted to go. We searched for weeks online and couldn't find any place that could match what you have or beat your rates. I quess you can tell by now that we fully intend to return to China Doll!
